Creative Knockouts Challenge - Bow Beautiful

Hello Crafters and Happy Friday Eve!

Today I'm sharing my Design Team Project for the Creative Knockouts Bow Beautiful Challenge this week.  It's Challenge # 251 and Star Stampz is the Prize Sponsor.

Star Stampz provided me with the cute image "Balloons and Ice Cream" to use for this challenge.  I colored her up with Sepctrum Noir Markers and decided a Birthday Card was in order...the balloons and ice cream just reminded me of a birthday!

To finish off, I added a few clear sequins and a lace border die cut I colored with Wilted Violet Distress Oxide Ink.

I hope you'll stop by Creative Knockouts Challenge this week and participate in the challenge.  Also, visit Star Stampz for a peek at what you could win.

Thanks for visiting today and until next time, Happy Crafting!

No Patterned Paper

Hi Crafty Friends.  I wanted to try my hand at creating some A2 sized cards with only plain card, ink, vellum and minimal embellishments.  CAS (clean and simple) is really not my style but I'm trying to expand my thinking and try new ideas.

I needed Birthday Cards for my stash so I went to work by embossing the card and coloring with Distress Oxide Inks.

I hand stamped and heat embossed the sentiments on vellum.  I added some glitter spray, sequins and acrylic drops.

The embossed designs really pop with the colors.  I'm a huge fan of the Distress Oxide Inks and wouldn't be without them in my crafting stash.

I hope you like my cards and were inspired to create some cards with no patterned papers.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Happy Hedge Hog Tuesday!

Hello All!  Hope your Tuesday is Terrific!

Today I'm sharing a challenge card I created using the adorable hedge hog from Penny Black and coloring with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers.

This card is a standard A2 (4.25" x 5.5"), card base is Neenah 110 lb. white card, patterned paper is a download from Cardmaking and Papercraft Magazine.  The embossed mat was inked using Distress Ink in Mustard Seed.

I die cut the fancy circle as well as added some dots and baker's twine to accent.  I hope you have enjoyed this sweet little critter and have been inspired.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!,

Hello There!

Hi Everyone!  Hope your weekend was grand.

Today's post is a short one sharing a quick card I made for a friend.  It's got some cute little critters peeking out to say Hi.

The circle elements and word "Hi" are die cuts, colored with Distress Oxide Inks in the colors Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed and Cracked Pistachio; the critters were colored with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers.  This card measures 5" x 5" using Neenah 110 lb. cardstock in White.

I love the sheep....his eyes just make me smile.

Pool Weather

Hello Everyone!  Hope you're having a great Friday!

Today I'm sharing another sweet image I colored with my new Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers.  I feel like a kid again, coloring and enjoying every moment of it.

This image is from Little Miss Muffet Stamps and I thought so appropriate for summer.  It's been in the high 90's here in Florida this past week so swimming has definitely been in order.

I colored her with the following Spectrum Noir colors:
Skin:  TN2, FS2, FS3
Sandals and Suit:  DR3, DR5, IG4
Flower:  PP3, PP5, PL1, GB5
Float:  LV1, LV2, CT2, CT4
Hair:  EB2, EB5, GB8

The card measures 5" x 5" and the embossed mat was colored with Distress Oxide Ink in the color Wilted Violet.  I also used a border die for the lace sides and a Fiskars corner punch for the circle details on the focal image.

I'm pleased with how she turned out although I feel I need more practice on the hair.  I'll be coloring all weekend and hopefully my technique for coloring hair will improve.

Thanks for visiting and until next time, Happy Crafting!

Frankie the Modern Fairy

Hello Everyone!  I hope you are well and having a wonderful day.

Today I would like to share my lastest Spectrum Noir Alcohol Marker Coloring project.  It's Frankie the Modern Fairy; an image by Hetty Claire.

This card measures 5" x 6.5 and matted on Neenah Solar White 110 lb. cardstock.  I used die cuts for the focal image frame, the stars and the word Believe.  I think she is adorable and I'm proud of the coloring job I did on this image.  Practice really does make perfect!

Thanks for stopping by and until next time, Happy Crafting!

Tropical Girl

Hello Everyone, I hope you are well and enjoying the day.

I'm back to share a project I completed recently using my new Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers.  I'm quite a novice when it comes to coloring with these fantastic markers.  I'm learning and enjoying every minute of the process.

This lovely image of the Tropical Girl is by artist Jeremiah Ketner.  I purchased the downloadable image from the Crafts and Me shoppe on Etsy and colored her using the Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.

The card measures 5.5" square and is a top fold (tent fold) on a vanilla cardstock base.  The printed mat is designer paper by the Paper Studio.  I used die cuts for the leaves, the tag and the frame.  The sentiment is cut from some designer paper I had in my stash.

At the time I was coloring, I didn't have the mindset to record what colors I was using for the image but I will record for the next image I share.  If I may say so myself I thinks he came out lovely.  I'm patting myself on the back for being a complete newbie and this image coming out this good....beginners luck I imagine.  I hope you enjoyed my post and thanks for stopping by today.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Today begins another weekly challenge at Creative Knockouts.  The challenge this week is to use Washi Tape in your design.

I used a sweet image of Lily from Crafty Sentiments Designs; who is this week's challenge sponsor.

Masculine Card Round-Up

Hello Everyone!  I hope your weekend was Spectacular!

Today I want to share some masculine cards I created this past weekend.  With Father's Day fast approaching, I have been thinking about masculine designs.

The first card is a Father's Day card I created for my husband using a Steampunk-ish Theme with Gears and Kraft Colored card.

I used Gear die cuts that I applied Pearl-Ex Mica Powders to for the aged, patina look.  To get the powders to stick, I used the Palette Stamp and Stick Glue Pad to apply the sticky glue type substance on the die cuts.  I used an old , small, inexpensive watercolor brush to apply the powders and set with the heat tool.  I applied micro glaze to the die cuts to ensure the powders would not smudge off.

I used two types of ribbon from my stash and inked everything up with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.  This card measures 5" x 5".

This card is for a Birthday, created using some awesome digital images and papers from the Etsy Seller Scrapbookingdom.  I used a Border Gear die cut, simply cut from black card.  I heat embossed the sentiment.  This card measures 5.5" x 4.25" top folding landscape.

Continuing with the Biker Theme, another Birthday Card using more digital images and papers from Scrapbookingdom.  These images are so clear and realistic, I'm more than impressed!  This is a top folding, landscape card measuring 5.5" x 4.25".

Last but not least, a Gatefold Birthday card with a simplistic design.  The card measures 5.5" x 4.25".  I'm fond of the color scheme, I really like blues and browns for a masculine card.

That's all I have for you today.  I hope you enjoyed the post and were inspired to create some awesome masculine cards.  Any of these cards would also be great for Father's Day.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!
