The Paper Funday Challenge - July 2026

Hello Friends and Happy July 1st! It's a new challenge month at The Paper Funday Challenge Blog and we have a fun optional Twist and 2 generous sponsors this month.  Our optional Twist for July is Summer Splash and our sponsors are Taylored Expressions and Simon Says Stamp!

For my team project, I've used the Nature's Canvas Set, which was originally released as a kit, from Taylored Expressions.  The kit includes stamps, coordinating dies and stencils, a cover plate die along with sentiment stamps.  The items are now sold separately and available HERE.

I've stamped and colored the floral using the coordinating stencils and distress inks, then cut out with the coordinating die.  I've created a mini oval tag for a backdrop that has been ink smooshed and tied off with Baker's Twine.  The plaid paper is from a Plaid Stack by Recollections.

The sentiment is from the kit, and has been popped on foam pads, along with the floral.  Lastly, I've added purple Dazzles to complete the design.  There's something about plaids that I love, and the colors in this paper appeal to the Purple lover in me.

The team and I hope you'll join us at the Challenge this month.  We love seeing everyone's creativity and we hope to inspire you with our designs.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

The Paper Funday Challenge - January 2026

Hello Friends and Happy Wednesday!  It's the first Wednesday of the month and it's time for a new challenge at The Paper Funday Challenge Blog.  The team had a nice holiday break and we're ready for some fun and creativity.  Our generous sponsors this month are Taylored Expressions and Sweet November Stamps, with our optional twist for January being a Sketch:

For my design team project, I chose not to use the optional sketch but instead used the Bitty Bouquet Stamp and Coordinating Stencil Set from Taylored Expressions.  This set was included in the Nature's Canvas Cardmaking Kit, and I don't believe it is sold separately.

To start, using inks from Catherine Pooler, I've stamped the panel with the green stems and leaves, then ink blended the remaining layered stencil elements.  The result is a very cheerful background panel, which I thought would be a perfect Friendship card (or even a Galentine's Day card).

I've die cut the sentiment using a mini expressions die set from Creative Expressions, and to prevent it from getting "lost" against the busy background, I've adhered it to a panel of vellum.  Lastly, I've added pink faux gems to accent the sentiment.

I hope you'll stop by The Paper Funday Challenge and see what my teammates have created using items from our sponsors, and we hope you'll join us this month and share your creative makes.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Inspiration Station Challenge #80

Hello Friends and Welcome to the 1st Monday of December 2025!  Wow, we're on the countdown to Christmas now and I hope you've made some headway in decorating, cardmaking and gift purchasing. Today also begins a new challenge month at The Inspiration Station Challenge Blog and we have a cozy scene to inspire us:

For my project, I was directly inspired by the rustic Christmas Tree and I've used the O Christmas Tree Bundled Kit from Taylored Expressions.  I've purchased very little this holiday season, opting to go with my stash but I couldn't resist this bundle when it was offered at a special price in July.

To start, I've heat embossed a background panel using the snowflake cover stamp in white sparkle power.  The tree has been layer stenciled with Catherine Pooler inks and the plaid paper is from a Craft Consortium 12x12 Christmas pack I've had for years.

After the ink dried, I die cut the tree and adhered flat to the panel, which was cut using a postage die from Catherine Pooler.  The sentiment is popped on foam pads and I've added a die cut glitter foam star to the tree top.  Lastly, I've added a few red gems and sprayed everything with Shimmer Spray.

The team and I hope you'll stop by the Inspiration Station Challenge and play along with us.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Beautiful Blossoms Challenge #29 - May/Jun 2025

Hello Crafty Friends!  It's the 15th of the month and that means a new challenge at The Beautiful Blossoms Challenge Blog.  Our challenges are all about florals and an optional mood board is provided for inspiration.  This month, the mood board is a combo of interesting colors:

For my team project, I've colored up one of the floral images from the Nature's Canvas Kit by Taylored Expressions.  I love how the images are drawn in an "artsy" style and I'm glad I decided to purchase this kit before it sold out.

Using Copic Alcohol Markers, I've colored the stamped images and die cut using the coordinating dies.  In hindsight, I should have went with a coral shade instead of orange but the mood board is optional after all, and I do like blue and orange together.

I've used diagonal stitched oval dies from Kat Scrappiness to create a frame, and placed the arrangement on a panel that has been pierced using the Fanfare Cutting Plate from Taylored Expressions.  I've popped the oval frame and florals on foam pads for dimension.

To finish the design, I've stamped and die cut the sentiment, from the Taylored Expressions Timeless Greetings Set and popped on foam pads.  Lastly, dusty rose sequins have been added for sparkle and shine.

We hope you'll stop by the challenge and join us, we love seeing everyone's creative designs!  That's all for now, so until next time, Happy Crafting.
