Double Trouble 6th Anniversary - Birthday Greetings

Hello Friends and Happy Monday!  I'm honored to be a Guest Designer on the Double Trouble Challenge Blog today, and the team is celebrating their 6th Anniversary with a fun Raffle.  You have a choice of 4 Raffle Themes:  Anniversary, Father's Day, Birthday or Graduation.  The Option this round is:  Use Kraft Paper, Brown Paper Bag, etc.  And the third Option is to enter your project at any of the previous challenge partners.

For my project today, I've used the Altenew Potted Plants Stamp Set to create a Birthday themed Card and have incorporated Kraft Card into my design.

To start, I did a bit of minor masking to stamp the Terra Cotta Pot and Snake Plant (or mother-in-law's tongue, as my Grandmother called it).  The images have been stamped using Catherine Pooler inks in shades of green and brown.  I went over the stamp images using Prismacolor Pencils, in order to add some shading and highlights.

The patterned papers are from a Recollections Vintage themed paper pad, the greeting is from the Word Fragments Stamp Set by Woodware.  I've popped the focal panel and sentiment strip on craft foam, and added some golden thread from Spellbinders.  Lastly, chocolate brown gems from Kat Scrappiness have been added to finish out the design.  This card is giving me masculine vibes, which wasn't intended but I'm happy it worked out that way.  I needed more masculine cards in my stash.

Please visit the Double Trouble Challenge Blog and enter the Anniversary Raffle.  You're sure to have some fun and just may be a winner!  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Happy Birthday Snippets

Hello Friends and Happy Sunday!  It's a relaxing day here, I hope your Sunday is the same.  I found myself in need of a birthday card, very last minute.  There was no time for stamping or coloring so I took some patterned paper snippets and created this quick and easy card.

To start, I've cut squares of patterned paper and mats, adhered together and then to a white panel.  Using the We-R-Memory Keepers Corner Chomper, I rounded two opposite sides of the squares.  The Birthday die cut and stamped word are from a Crafter's Companion Set.

No bells or whistles have been added, it was truly a quick, easy and somewhat CAS design.  It took me all of 15 minutes to create and a wonderful way to use up patterned paper snippets.

That's all for today friends, until next time - Happy Crafting!

May 2024 Classic Design Challenge

Hi Friends and Happy Saturday!  I'm behind in posting and sharing my DT project for The Classic Design Challenge that started on the 15th of this month.  Our sponsors this month are Hetty Clare Art and Sheepski Designs.  My DT project features a cute Pirate from Hetty Clare Art

I've created a simple Fancy Fold card, the image has been colored using Prismacolor Pencils.  The patterned paper is from a paper pad by Scrapbook.com, the sentiments are from the Hello Sunshine Stamp Set by Simon Says Stamp.

I've used a distressed edge nesting die set to cut focal panels and have added a bit of Wink of Stella to the image for a bit of sparkle.  Otherwise, I've left the card without any bells and whistles.

Please stop by the challenge blog and join in the fun.  We love seeing all the clever and creative designs that are shared with us each month.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Beautiful Blossoms Challenge - Smiles and Hugs

Hello and Happy Wednesday!  Today begins a new challenge month at The Beautiful Blossoms Challenge Blog.  Our challenges are Always Anything FLORAL Goes with an optional mood board for inspiration.  The mood board this month is:

The colors in this mood board are gorgeous, although I'll admit I was a bit intimidated by them however, I decided to use this optional mood board as inspiration for my team project.

Using the Smiles and Hugs Stamp Set from Altenew, I've colored the marigolds (or possibly carnations) in colors I thought best matched those in the mood board.  I've colored the images using Prismacolor Pencils.

The florals and leaves have been cut using the coordinating dies, and the cluster has been popped on foam pads for dimension.  I've added a patterned background, containing foiled stars, along with a piece of torn vellum.  Lastly, I've added light peach enamel dots for added interest.  The sentiment is from the Tiny Talk pack by Tim Holtz.

We invite you to join us at The Beautiful Blossoms Challenge this month by sharing your lovely floral focused designs.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Berry Sweet

Happy Saturday Crafty Friends!  I hope your week went well and you're planning some crafty time this weekend.  I have a quick share for you today featuring the Berry Sweet Die, Paper Pack and Stamp Set from Scrapbook.com.  I love Strawberries and this is a great set for dimensional berries and it's lovely as a Birthday card.

I've die cut the berries, leaves, blossoms, and word from colored card and adhered the layers together using liquid adhesive.  Using patterned papers from the Berry Sweet coordinating paper pad, I've added the sketch layers to the card base.

I've arranged the cluster of berries and blossoms to my liking and using Press 'n Seal sticky cling wrap, I've picked up the arrangement.  I've placed foam pads behind the cluster and adhered to the panel.  I've popped up the small word strips on foam pads and added yellow gems to the blossom centers.

That's all I have for today.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Inspiration Station Challenge #61 - May 2024

Hi Crafty Friends and Happy Monday!  It's the 1st Monday of the month and that means a new challenge at The Inspiration Station Challenge Blog.  We have a pretty inspiration photo this month:

I love florals and the colors of the prompt are gorgeous, so for my team project, I've used the Paint-A-Flower Fashion Monger Dahlia Stamp Set from Altenew.

My color inspiration came directly from the photo prompt.  I love Pinks, Purples and Yellows together, and the image has been colored using Spectrum Noir Alcohol Brush Markers.

I went with a Clean and Simple theme; adding a black mat border, gold and white paint splatters and dew drop embellishments.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set.

The team and I would love to see you at the challenge, we're always amazed at the different interpretations of the inspiration photo.  We hope you'll join in and share your creativity with us.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Double Trouble Challenge #166 - Stash and Trash

Hello Friends and Happy Monday!  I hope your weekend was fun and you did something special for yourself.  I'm excited to be a Crazy Cousin Guest Designer at The Double Trouble Challenge #166!  It's a fun one this round, you are to go through your stash and pick unused and mix-matched items for your design.

Let me tell ya, this was a hard one for this complicated brain of mine.  It was easy finding something unused in my stash, which is a shame actually, however, trying to use mix-matched items was quite hard for me.

For my project, I've chosen 3-D stickers I've had for about a year, purchased from the Dollar Tree, when things were actually a $1 (now everything is $1.25 +).  I have a paper pad that has gone unused till today, and a stamp set that has never been inked...see...I told you it was a shame these things were hidden in the stash!

There's also a sketch to follow, as Double Trouble is collabing with Tuesday Morning Sketches.  So I've combined everything into my card.

So here we are, tada!

I thought I would go one step farther and use an embossing folder from Cricut, the Basic Shapes, to create a mix-matched background.  The stamp set is titled "Stuck on You" by Maymay Made it, the papers are from the Good Vibes 6x6 paper pad by Crate Paper and the sentiment is from the same stamp set.

As you know, sketches are basic ideas for making cards easy, so I've chosen to use only snippets of patterned paper, and left off the bow/ribbon element at the bottom of the sketch.

Also, no bells and whistles this time, it looks quite busy and I felt it couldn't stand another thing LOL

Please stop by The Double Trouble and Tuesday Morning Sketches Challenges to see what the teams have created.  We hope you'll be inspired to dive deep into your stash and play along.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Steamboat Willie and Minnie

Happy Friday Friends!  I hope your week was wonderful and you have fun plans for the weekend.  My husband and I have returned from a 7 day Cruise to Mexico.  It was a fabulous time, the weather was gorgeous, the food and entertainment was top notch.

Today I have a quick share featuring Steamboat Willie and Minnie Mouse.  This stamp set, titled Steamboat Willie, can be found at Rubberstamps.com.

This is a great stamp set, containing 6 Steamboat Willie images for fun scenes.  The stamps are also photopolymer, which means they stamp beautifully.  I've colored the images using Prismacolor Pencils.

I've kept the design fairly CAS, the sentiment comes from the "Word Fragments" stamp set by Woodware, which I've stamped directly to the panel.  To finish out the design, I've added Baker's Twine with a Bow as "ground" for the images and red gems for added interest.

If you like Steamboat Willie, and now you can use freely, since the patent on these images has expired, you can get this set and others for a special price - $9.99 US.

Thanks for visiting me today, until next time, Happy Crafting!

Paper Funday Challenges #65 - May 2024

Hello Friends and Happy 1st Day of May!  Today begins a new challenge at The Paper Funday Challenge Blog.  Our challenges are Always Anything Goes with an Optional Twist.  The Twist this month is:  Flower Shoppe.

Our sponsors for this challenge are the generous Star Stampz and Bonnie Garby Designs.  For my team project, I've used the adorable Spring Flower from Star Stampz and the greeting is from the More Spring Sentiments digital package by Bonnie Garby Designs.

Spring Flower is such a cutie patootie!  I've colored her using Spectrum Noir Alcohol Brush Markers.  I've embossed the pink background panel with the Picnic Floral 3-D Embossing Folder from Simon Says Stamp.  The snippet of patterned paper is from an Easter pack by Kat Scrappiness.

I've die cut the focal and greeting using nesting dies from my stash.  Lastly, I've added enamel dots and a Baker's Twine Bow to complete the design,

The team and I want to invite you to join us at the challenge this month and play along.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!
