Creative Knockouts - Aim for the Heart

Hello and Welcome to the blog today.  I hope your Christmas Holiday was wonderful and you're ready for 2019!

It's time for a new challenge at Creative Knockouts and our sponsor this round is the superb Star Stampz.  For my design team project, I had the pleasure of using the Aim for the Heart Cupid digital stamp by Star Stampz.

This is an exquisitely drawn image and she was great fun to color up with my Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers.  I keep the paper simple; using only a black mat mounted on a pink card base.  This card is an A6 size (4.5: x 6.5"), tent fold  style.  I've added some Ranger Stickles in Silver and Gold for a bit of sparkle.

I hope you've been inspired to join us in the challenge this round.  We would love to have you.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

P.S.  I would like to invite you to a new challenge blog starting 02 January 2019.  Please visit Paper Funday Challenges next Wednesday for the first challenge!

Creatalicious Challenges - New Hope

Hello and Welcome back!  I want to share with you that it's time for a new challenge at Creatalicious Challenges.  Also, Creatalicious is currently having a Design Team call, so if you're interested, please stop by the blog and follow directions for your submission.  The theme this round is Anything Goes with the optional Christmas with Snowflakes.

Now on to my design team project for this challenge.  Our lovely sponsor this round is Cute as a Button Stamps and I've had the pleasure of using this sweet image New Hope.  I thought she was so appropriate for a New Year's card so that's what I've done:

I'll admit I was intimidated by this image; she is lovely, drawn so delicately with lots of detail so I incorporated my Sakura Pigma Brush tip markers along with my Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers to color her up.  The doves should have been white, but I was heavy handed with the grays and now I'm hoping they don't resemble pigeons....you live and you learn :p

We hope you'll join the challenge this round, we'd love to have you!

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Christmas Window

Hello again, today I'm sharing a Christmas card I put together after having a "ah ha" moment.  I had this window die and couldn't figure out I was going to do use it, specifically cardmaking.  I don't consider myself creative so I thought it's a window, opens and so it needs to have something on the other side to look at; this was then born, A2 standard sized card:

I used a stencil and Barn Door Distress Ink to create the background on the card base, Blueprint Sketch, Salty Ocean and Black Soot Distress Oxides for the night scene and Vintage Photo Distress ink to tint the window.  I die cut the tree out of green card and added SnowTex for the snow.  Ta Da...complete.  I hope you like and have been inspired.

Until next time, Happy Crafting,

Clean and Simple Christmas

Hello and Happy Tuesday!  Christmas is creeping closer and I'm still creating Christmas Cards, I should be completely finished by Christmas :)

I've created what I feel is a CAS Christmas Card, using only a die cut along with glitter and mirror card.  I die cut the tree image from the glitter card and again from the silver mirror card, then inlaid the mirror card into the space.  I really like how this one turned out, I love the look of blue and silver at Christmas time!

I hope you've been inspired today.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Christmas Candles

Good Monday Morning!  I did manage to find some crafting time this past weekend and I worked on my personal stash of Christmas Cards.  From now until Christmas, I will be sharing what I've come up with.

Today's share is the Christmas Candles card.  I've been coloring a lot lately for Design Team projects and I'd forgotten how satisfying paper piecing is. I used dies for the candles and the foliage (the candles were cut from Glitter card), and pieced everything together.  I embossed the white mat and added a ribbon and charm for interest.  This is a standard A2 sized card.

I hope I've inspired you to get into your craft space today and revisit a technique you haven't used in a while.  Create something wonderful for someone - or even yourself.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Cardz 4 Galz - Non-Traditional Holiday Colors

Hello!  It's time for a brand new challenge at Cardz 4 Galz and the theme this round is Non-Traditional Holiday Colors.  For my design team project, I created a Z-Fold card with bottom band based on the card and tutorial by Mixed Up Craft.

I chose what I felt were non-traditional colors and this paper comes from a Recollections 12x12 paper pad named Holiday Bash.  It contains some really cute papers and it was a fabulous Black Friday buy!

We would love to see you at Cardz 4 Galz this challenge; stop by and join the fun!

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Penny's Paper Crafty Challenges - Little Girl with Kitty

Hello Everyone and Happy Wednesday!  There's a new challenge starting today at Penny's Paper Crafty Challenges and the sponsors this week are Little Blue Button Stamps and Bugaboo Stamps; 2 awesome and generous sponsors!

Today, my design team project features the Little Blue Button Stamps Girl with Kitty.  This is such a sweet image and I broke away from holiday themes this week and created an everyday card, possibly a birthday or thinking of you card.  What other ideas do you have for this card - comment below.

I colored with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers, added some die cuts and used 2 different designer paper mats to complete this A2 card.  I also added some Wink of Stella to the bow in her hair, the flowers on her blouse and to the bow the kitty is playing with.  The sentiment was printed on my computer since I didn't have a stamp with I sentiment I wanted to use.

I hope you will visit Penny's this week and take a look at the creations my design team sisters came up with and we hope you will join in the challenge this week.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Crafty Calendar Challenges - Sweet Christmas with a Friend

Hello and thanks for stopping by.  It's time for another challenge at Crafty Calendar and our sponsor this round is Lawn Fawn!  The winner will receive a $25 gift voucher and that's so exciting and so gracious of them to sponsor this challenge for us!  The Theme for our challenge is "It's Christmas Time".

This sweet image of a little girl and her Penguin friend was just so adorable, and in-line with our theme, I used it to create a card for my Design Team project.  I do not know who is credited for creating this image as this was gifted to me in a swap; if anyone knows, please leave me a comment.

I colored the images up with my Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers and added some Silver Wink of Stella on the snowflakes and the penguins' hat band and ball.  I kept this A2 sized card pretty simple by my standards and I'm pleased with how it turned out.

We hope you will join us at Crafty Calendar this round for your chance to win a great prize from Lawn Fawn!

Until next time, Happy Crafting!
