Inspiration Station Challenge - Inspiration Prompt #49

Hello Friends and Happy May Day, also known as International Worker's Day!  The 1st day of the month signals a new challenge month at The Inspiration Station Challenge Blog.  Our May Inspiration Prompt #49 is:

This appears to be a celebration, dancing around the Maypole.  I remember in elementary school, we used to celebrate May Day with a dance around the Maypole.  This photo inspired me to use the color Red and create a card of Friendship.  I'm inspired by friends getting together for fun in the sun.

I have several decorative paper napkins, some gifted to me and others purchased through Ninny's Napkins.  When I purchased this napkin, my thought was to upcycle a home decor item but I put it away, and never completed the home decor project.  When "shopping my stash", I remembered all the lovely cards I've seen made with paper napkins.

The card design is very simple to create.  I glued the top layer of the napkin to a card panel and after it was dry, I die cut an 2 nesting ovals from the center.  I've adhered the napkin panel to a card base, it's hard to see in the photo but each layered oval has a graduated step of dimension and I've also dry embossed the napkin before die cutting

To finish, I've die cut the sentiment with a stitched oval and added a bit of twine.  Please join us at The Inspiration Station, we would love to see how the photo prompt inspires you.  Everyone's interpretation is unique and we hope to inspire you with our projects.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Potted Geranium

Hello!  I hope you're well and enjoying Tuesday.  Today I have a quick share using the Potted Geranium digital stamp from Power Poppy.  This is a lovely image and I've kept  my design clean and simple today.

The image has been colored using alcohol markers and the card size is 5x7.  The cardbase is 110 lb. Neenah Classic Crest Solar White card, the sentiment is included in the digital set and the focal panel has been matted with black card.

Even though the image is very detailed, it's an easy color.  I went with the traditional Geranium color of Red, I've not actually seen a Geranium in any other color but I'm sure there must be several varieties.

For the finishing touch, I've added clear droplets from Kat Scrappiness.  Thanks for stopping in today and until next time, Happy Crafting!

Deck the Halls - Fa-La-La

Hello and Happy Monday!  We are quickly approaching the holidays and I've been busy with Christmas Card making.  Today's make and share features foil, a die cut, designer paper and lots of Holiday Spirit!

I created a simple and quick card with papers from the Echo Park "Lumberjack Christmas" 6x6 paper pad, a Fa-La-La die cut from red foil paper and red sequins.  A super easy and festive card for the holidays.

I hope you were able to make progress on your holiday crafting this past weekend.  I'm going to try and work on cards again this week with another power session the weekend coming up.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

The Paper Funday Challenges - Love with a Twist

Hello and Happy Wednesday.  Today begins a new challenge at  The Paper Funday Challenges and the theme for February is Love with a Twist:  Create a paper project with a Love theme using the colors Red, Pink and White.  The sponsor for the challenge this month is Hetty Clare and she has some adorable images.

For my design team projects, I choose to create a Candy Box and Gift Tag using the Mini Miss Loveheart pre-colored digital stamp from Hetty Clare.

For the gift tag, I used a die to cut out a large tag out of designer paper.  I used another die to cut out a mat from more designer paper.  I then fussy cut the image and used a mini Action Wobble to pop up Mini Miss Loveheart.

The candy box is an SVG cut that I've had for a while but unfortunately I am unable to remember where it came from.  The little box will hold 6 pieces of fun sized candies easily.

I hope you will join in the challenge at Paper Funday this month.  We would love to see your creations and we hope to inspire your creativity.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Make My Monday Challenge - Red, Pink and White

It's Monday and a new challenge starts today at Make My Monday.  The theme for the challenge this week is Red, Pink and White.  Since we are close to Valentine's Day, my design team project is a Valentine's Day card that incorporates all the colors in the theme.

The card measures a standard A2 with gorgeous papers from Recollections.  I die cut the heart and backed with red paper, then layered on top of a pink paper doily I had in my stash.  Finally, a few pink sequins were added for some bling.

We hope you will join us this week at Make My Monday Challenges; we are looking forward to seeing what you create with the theme colors.

Also, don't forget to visit the new challenge blog The Paper Funday Challenges this Wednesday for the announcement of the winners from the January challenge and for the start of Februarys' challenge.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Cardz 4 Galz - Hearts

Hello and Happy Thursday!  Today is the start of a new challenge at Cardz 4 Galz Challenge Blog.  The theme for this round is Hearts and using the colors Red, Pink or White.

This time of year, I am crafting for Valentine's Day so my design team project reflects the holiday along with all the theme elements.

The card is a standard A2 size with designer papers from the Recollections paper pack titled Love and Devotion.  The Unicorn face is a Cricut Design Space cut from the cartridge Unicorn Hair, Don't Care.  This cut would also make the cutest T-shirt!

We hope you will join us at Cardz 4 Galz for the challenge.  We look forward to seeing you there.

Also, the 6th of February will start a new challenge month at The Paper Funday Challenges.  The theme for February is Love and there is a Twist of the colors Red, Pink and White.  Please join us there also!

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Creative Knockouts - Aim for the Heart

Hello and Welcome to the blog today.  I hope your Christmas Holiday was wonderful and you're ready for 2019!

It's time for a new challenge at Creative Knockouts and our sponsor this round is the superb Star Stampz.  For my design team project, I had the pleasure of using the Aim for the Heart Cupid digital stamp by Star Stampz.

This is an exquisitely drawn image and she was great fun to color up with my Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers.  I keep the paper simple; using only a black mat mounted on a pink card base.  This card is an A6 size (4.5: x 6.5"), tent fold  style.  I've added some Ranger Stickles in Silver and Gold for a bit of sparkle.

I hope you've been inspired to join us in the challenge this round.  We would love to have you.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

P.S.  I would like to invite you to a new challenge blog starting 02 January 2019.  Please visit Paper Funday Challenges next Wednesday for the first challenge!

Holiday Poinsettia

Hello and Happy Sunday.  I've been working on Christmas cards for the last few weeks and I finished this card today.  It features a die cut Poinsettia and foliage.   It's a Z-Fold style card measuring 4.25" x 5.5", the designer paper is from last years' stash from the Bo Bunny Tis the Season Collection.

For shimmer, I added clear Wink of Stella to the Poinsettia and added no other embellishments.  I felt the flower was a statement all it's own and no other embellishments were needed.

I'm very pleased with this one and will be creating more cards with this beautiful Poinsettia.

I hope I've inspired you to create some holiday cards and if you don't have a poinsettia die, use what flower die you have, just cut out of festive paper for a wonderful holiday card.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!
