Double Trouble Challenge #166 - Stash and Trash

Hello Friends and Happy Monday!  I hope your weekend was fun and you did something special for yourself.  I'm excited to be a Crazy Cousin Guest Designer at The Double Trouble Challenge #166!  It's a fun one this round, you are to go through your stash and pick unused and mix-matched items for your design.

Let me tell ya, this was a hard one for this complicated brain of mine.  It was easy finding something unused in my stash, which is a shame actually, however, trying to use mix-matched items was quite hard for me.

For my project, I've chosen 3-D stickers I've had for about a year, purchased from the Dollar Tree, when things were actually a $1 (now everything is $1.25 +).  I have a paper pad that has gone unused till today, and a stamp set that has never been inked...see...I told you it was a shame these things were hidden in the stash!

There's also a sketch to follow, as Double Trouble is collabing with Tuesday Morning Sketches.  So I've combined everything into my card.

So here we are, tada!

I thought I would go one step farther and use an embossing folder from Cricut, the Basic Shapes, to create a mix-matched background.  The stamp set is titled "Stuck on You" by Maymay Made it, the papers are from the Good Vibes 6x6 paper pad by Crate Paper and the sentiment is from the same stamp set.

As you know, sketches are basic ideas for making cards easy, so I've chosen to use only snippets of patterned paper, and left off the bow/ribbon element at the bottom of the sketch.

Also, no bells and whistles this time, it looks quite busy and I felt it couldn't stand another thing LOL

Please stop by The Double Trouble and Tuesday Morning Sketches Challenges to see what the teams have created.  We hope you'll be inspired to dive deep into your stash and play along.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Love and Friendship - Inspiration Station Challenge #50

Hello Friends and Happy Monday!  Today begins a new challenge month at The Inspiration Station Challenge Blog.  The inspiration prompt this month is a gorgeous sunset/sunrise photo and it can be interpreted in so many ways.

For my team project this month, I shopped my stash and decided to use the "Sittin' Tree" Stamp set from Maymay Made It and Distress Oxide Inks to create a background design that was completely inspired by the scene in the inspiration prompt.

To start, I've ink blended the background using distress oxide inks that I felt would make a nice sunrise/sunset color palette.  Once the ink was completely dry, I stamped the images directly on the blended panel.  *TIP:  Before stamping on a blended background, make certain the ink is completely dry, otherwise you will find yourself stamping and stamping to get a crisp, dark image.  Ask me how I know this :)

This stamp set has different types of foliage for the tree.  I've chosen to use the tiny blossoms and I've painstakingly dotted each one with a white Posca Paint Pen.

The ready made sentiment strip is from Simon Says Stamp.  These are nice for quick and easy sentiments, all you have to do is trim them.  And the black background can be heat foiled too.  No bells or whistles were added to the card as I thought the scene was busy enough.

Please stop by the challenge and join in.  We always love seeing how the photo inspires everyone.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

What's the Buzz?

Hello and Happy Friday!  It's been a crafty day for me and I thought I would jump on and quickly share this fun little Bee Fairy with you.

This image is from Mo's Digital Pencil, I love Mo Manning images and she has so many different styles that there's something for everyone.  I thought this Bee Fairy was adorable and you can find her HERE.  The sentiment is from the Buggy Love Stamp Set by Maymay Made It.

I've colored the image using my Prismacolor Pencils, die cut the focal and card panel and keeping with the Honey Bee theme, I did some stenciling in the background.  Lastly, I've added yellow gems from Kat Scrappiness to finish the design.

Thanks for visiting today, have a fantastic weekend.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

The Paper Funday January 2022 Challenge - Winter Landscapes

Hello Friends!  It's the 1st Wednesday of the month and a new challenge has started at The Paper Funday Challenge Blog.  The theme is Always Anything Goes with an Optional Twist.  The Twist this month is Winter Landcapes.

For my design team project, I went with the optional Twist and used the "Sittin' Tree" 4x6 Stamp Set from Maymay Made It to create a Winter Landscape card.

Using a black card panel, I stamped and heat embossed the images using Fine Detail White Embossing Powder by Ranger.  I used an embossing pen and the same detail powder to create the snow flurries, flakes and ground cover.

The focal panel was layered on silver mirror card and adhered flat to the 110 lb. card base.  The sentiment comes from the Lawn Fawn "Winter Fox" mini stamp set and was die cut, layered with mirror card and popped on craft foam.

This stamp set is very versatile.  It has leaves and buds for the different seasons.  Leaving the tree bare and adding "snow" made it the perfect Winter Landscape.

Please join us at The Paper Funday this month for your chance to win one of two prizes on offer.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Krafty Chicks GDT - All Occasions

Hello Crafty Friends and to all those in the States - Happy Thanksgiving!  I hope you have a blessed day filled with fellowship, fun and good food!

Today is my last Guest Design team project with the Krafty Chicks Challenge.  It's been a fun month of creating with the awesome team and I'm thankful for the opportunity.  The theme this week is "All Occasions" and I've created a Friendship Card that is versatile and can be used for any occasion.

I've used the Heads & Tails Stamp Set from Maymay Made It to create a sweet and simple card design.  I did a quick search on the site for this set but was unable to find it.  It's a set from 2018 so it may be retired however there are loads of fun sets to choose from.

I've colored the images with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers and added Wink of Stella for sparkle.  To finish, I've added a faux gem to the little guy's bow tie.

Please stop by the Krafty Chicks Challenge this week, we would love to see your All Occasions projects!  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

You Are Lovely

Hello and Happy Tuesday!  Today's card features stenciling and stamping; 2 simpe technqiues that create a pretty card.

I started the card with a 5" square panel of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80 lb. card and a new stencil I recently received; the Sweet Spring Stencil from Altenew.  Using Mint to Be and Aquatini Dye Inks from Catherine Pooler, I stenciled the rose bouquet.  This is a 2 layer stencil and very easy to line up and blend through.

I stamped the sentiment from the Maymay Made It All About You stamp set onto the card base but wasn't happy with the "are lovely"..it wasn't straight but an easy fix, I stamped again on a banner cut with a MFT Stitched Sentiment Strips die.  It's still not as straight as I prefer but the card is Handcafted, not Hallmark..right?  Lastly, enamel sparkle dots added for additional interest.

Thanks for stopping by and until next time, Happy Crafting!

Lily Love Bug Sending Love

Hello and Happy Monday!  I hope your weekend was grand and you found some time for yourself.

Today beings a new challenge at Pammie's Inky Pinkies with an Anything Goes Theme and sponsor Polkadoodles.  For my design team project, I created a Mini Slimline Card using the Lily Love Bug Sending Love image.  I own the entire digital bundle of this Cutie and there are over 200 images in this kit.  It's an amazing value if you like this adorable Lily.

My card measures 6"x3" and the image was colored using Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers.  The designer papers are from the kit so it made coordinating a breeze.  The sentiment is from the Maymay Made It "Buggy Love" Stamp Set and the sentiment banner was cut using the MFT Stitched Sentiment Strips set.

Please join us this week at Pammie's for some inspiration, we hope to see you there!  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Unique Fold Cards

Today I'm sharing a a couple of unique fold cards.  These cards were so fun to make and they look exceptionally nice.  They are the standard A2 (4.25" x 5.5") size although they can be created any size you like.

First up is the "Impossible" card that is sweeping the internet.  There is lots of inspiration on Pinterest; I learned this technique by watching Maymay Made It on YouTube.  She has loads of great tutorials.  This card has lots of dimension and layers...perfect for Mother's Day!

The next card is a Center Easel Card of sorts.  I got the inspiration for this one by scrolling Pinterest however Maymay had easel card tutorials on her Youtube channel as well.  This would make a darling Mother's Day Card.

Till Next Time,

Donna
