October 2023 Instagram Re-Discovery Hop - Fall/Autumn

Hello Crafty Friends and Happy Sunday!  Today is the Instagram Just for Fun Re-Discovery Hop!  The idea behind this fun hop is to "Shop Your Stash" and created a project based on the monthly theme.  This month, there are a whopping 40 creators participating, so there is tons of inspiration for using your hidden treasures!  The Hop starts at 11 am EST and you can start hopping HERE.

The theme this month is Fall/Harvest.  When I think of Autumn, rich colors and Gratitude instantly come to mind.  Using an image and sentiment from the "With Love and Gratitude" digital set from Graciellie Designs, I've created an Autumn Card of Gratitude.

I've had this image in my stash for a year or more and always forget to color it for Autumn. so this Hop was a perfect time to use it.  I've colored using Prismacolor Pencils.

The patterned papers are snippets from various 6x6 paper pads and I've die cut the focal image and sentiment using dies from the stash.  I've added Wink of Stella, gold Posca Paint Pen splatters and golden thread for accents.

We hop you'll visit and hop along all the stops.  You can start the hop HERE. and if you would like to join us next month, please reach out to our Leader and brains behind the Hop,  Tracy @craftwithme101 on Instagram!  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Instagram Rediscovery Hop - August 2023

Hello Friends and Happy Saturday!  Today is the Instagram Rediscovery Hop for August 2023.  The premise of this Hop is to "shop your stash" and create a card following the monthly theme and use what you already have.  This is a HUGE Just for Fun Hop featuring loads of talented crafters, showcasing ways they've used their stash.  You can start the hop HERE.

The theme this month is "Get Well" and I came up with a quick and easy card using only scrap patterned papers and a stamped sentiment.

I was inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest (always a great place to visit when you need inspiration).  I cut 1.5" strips and 1" squares of patterned paper to create adhesive bandages.

The squares have been popped on craft foam for dimension and clear gems added to bling.  This card couldn't be any easier to create and I think it's an adorable idea.  Nowadays, fun and colorful bandages are all the rage, I have some camo patterned ones in my medicine cabinet now.

I hope you'll Hop along, starting at 11 am EST.  There is lots of inspiration for your Get Well projects.  Have a fabulous weekend, until next time, Happy Crafting!

May 2023 Instagram Rediscovery Hop

Hello Friends and Happy Sunday!  I hope everyone's weekend is going along as planned.  It's a holiday weekend in the States.  Tomorrow we honor and mourn the U.S Military Personnel who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces.  Today, it's all about the Instagram Rediscovery Hop and the theme this month is Birthday.

The premise of this monthly Hop is to use what you already have in your stash to create something according to theme.  This hop has so many wonderfully talented makers and I encourage you to join us HERE.

For my card today. I've used the Altenew/Simon Says Stamp Collaboration Set "From the Rose Bush" to create a feminine birthday card.

This is a layering stamp set and I've used shades of purple ink from Catherine Pooler for the Rose.  I had this rose and leaf sprig left from a prior project and they were waiting in my "extras" die cut box for the perfect project.

While looking through my die binders, I found a border die and thought it would add additional interest to the card front, so I cut it from the panel and backed it with yellow card.  Lastly, I've added Pearl embellishments for the added detail.

Please visit the Hop and see all the wonderful ways my friends have used their "stash" to create some lovely birthday cards.  There's loads of inspiration!  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Instagram Card Makers Re-Discovery Hop - Sympathy

Hi Friends and Happy Sunday!  It's the last Sunday of the month and time for the Instagram Card Makers Re-Discovery Hop, where we create a project using only items found in our stashes.  The theme this month is Sympathy.  You can start the Hop HERE starting 11:00 AM EST.

For my project, I've created a simple Sympathy card using the Cotton Comfort Stamp Set from Altenew.  To start, I swiped 3 colors of acrylic paint across a card panel to create the background.

Once the paint was completely dry, I heat embossed the image and sentiment, then adhered the panel to the card base.  Lastly I've added 3 dots of Silver Stickles to highlight the sentiment.

I hope you'll hop through all the inspiration, there are some awesome card makers and it's always inspirational to see what everyone creates. That's all for today, until next time, Happy Crafting!

Instagram Card Makers Discovery Hop - March 2023

Hi Friends and Happy Sunday!  It's time for this months' Instagram Card Makers Re-Discovery Hop where the premise of this Just for Fun Themed Hop is creating a project using items you have in your stash.  The theme this month is Easter. and there's loads of inspiration from a huge line-up of card makers, you can start the Hop HERE.

This project took me deep into my stash. I was searching for something cute and festive for this hop and I came across a digital stamp set I had won last year.  This bunny and sentiment are part of the Egg-stra Ducky Easter Digital Stamp Set by Angie Blom Digital Designs.  I never got to use the images from this set last Easter so today was the day to finally use this set!

I've colored the images using my Prismacolor Pencils.  The focal panel was cut using a nesting stitched rectangle die from Kat Scrappiness.  The patterned paper was also found in the stash, it's part of a digital Easter pack and was a Card Making Magazine Freebie.

I've die cut a frame from green card using a nesting frame rectangle die from Kat Scrappiness.  I've adhered the frame flat to the patterned paper, which gives the illusion there is a mat behind, but doesn't use a whole panel of card.  I now have the inside of the frame to use on another project.  As a finishing touch, I've added iridescent sequins for a bit of bling.

I hope you'll hop along with us today.  There are lots of great card makers participating, so there is loads of inspiration for using those forgotten about items in one's stash.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Instagram Cardmakers Discovery Hop - February 2023

Happy Lazy Sunday Friends!  I hope you are well (and warm) and have a lovely day planned.  Today is the last Sunday of the month and that signals a new Discovery Hop on Instagram.  The premise of the Hop is to dig into your stash and use what you have on hand to create something based on the theme.  The theme this Hop is Spring/Florals.  This is a Just for Fun Hop, providing inspiration to "Shop Your Stash".

I dug around in my rather large stash of Floral sets and found the Lace Flowers Stamp and Coordinating Die Set from Gina K. Designs.  I'd forgotten about this set with it's Zen-like flowers.  I love the bold lines of the images.

I've colored the images using Prismacolor Pencils and die cut with the coordinating dies.  I did my own embossing on the panel, meaning I scored the top half of the panel using a bone folder and score board.  The bottom half of the panel was left untouched so I could stamp the sentiment, which is included in this set.

The smaller flower has been popped on foam pads for dimension and to finish the design, I've added blue gems and white dots using a Posca Paint Pen.

You can start Hopping along HERE.  I hope you'll stop in and have a look at all the different styles and products everyone has shopped from their stashes.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Re-Discover Your Supplies Instagram Hop - Theme: Teacher Appreciation

Hi Crafty Friends and Happy Sunday!  I am participating in the Re-Discover Your Supplies Instagram Hop along with several of my crafty friends.  The theme is Teacher Appreciation and it's a Just For Fun and Inspiration Hop.

The premise of the Hop is to inspire you to shop your stash and "re-discover" products you haven't used in a while (or forgot about) to create something for yourself or someone else.  You can hop along starting HERE.

I don't have school aged children anymore so I haven't thought of Teacher Appreciation gifts in a very long time.  I went shopping my stash and re-discovered the Organic Fruits Stamp Set from Simon Says Stamp.  I decided to create a Thank You card with some red apples as the focal images.

With this set, you can stamp layer or stencil the color on.  I decided to stamp layer using red and green shades of Catherine Pooler inks.  Just as the name implies, the stamping of color is not supposed to line up perfectly.  Going outside the lines gives the stamping an organic, retro and whimsical look which I like very much.

Also from my stash (my embarrasingly large stash) of patterned paper, I chose 2 snippets from the Bo Bunny "Kiss the Cook" 6x6 paper pad.  I've fussy cut the apples and leaves, stamped the sentiment from the stamp set directly to the card panel and popped the images on craft foam for dimension.  Lastly, I've added silver gems from Kat Scrappiness.

Stop by the Hop on Instagram and see what my friends have created by shopping their stashes.  I'm excited to see what their Teacher Appreciation inspiration projects are.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Rediscover Your Supplies Instagram Hop

Hello Crafty Friends.  Today I'm participating in an Instagram Inspiration Hop highlighting re-discovery....of your supplies. Today my crafty friends and I are sharing inspiration wth our stash supplies with a theme of Summer.  You can hop along with us starting HERE...please visit and get inspired.

My project today features the Radiating Squares 4 part layering stencil from Simon Says Stamp.  The inks are Catherine Pooler and the sentiment die set is from Kat Scrappiness.

I love stenciling and this stencil set is so versatile.  The amount of different designs is endless and I think the pattern would be great for those quick and easy masculine cards.

Catherine Pooler Inks are so vibrant and I adore my collection of them.  I chose 4 complementary colors I felt "spoke" Summer - the theme of this inspiration hop.  The sentiment was die cut and popped on craft foam for dimension.  I've added sequins from my stash; it's kinda my thing to add embellies to my cards.  It's difficult for me to call a card complete without adding them.

Please join us for this inspirational hop.  There are lots of stops and loads of inspiration by my crafty friends.  Have a great day and until next time, Happy Crafting!
