Crafty Calendar Challenges - For a Child

Hello, I hope you're doing well and Spring is beginning to show it's beautiful face in your area.  Today starts a new challenge at Crafty Calendar Challenges and the theme for this month is For a Child.

For my design team project, I created a little note card that is a standard A2 size, using the sweet image A Special Flower from our generous sponsor A Day for Daisies.

I adore the digital images from A Day for Daisies; they are easy to color.  The face on this little girl is adorable and I enjoyed coloring with my Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers.  Although it's hard to tell in the photo, I did add Wink of Stella to the flowers and the butterflies, which are not part of the original image.  I added the butterflies as a design element.

We hope you join us at Crafty Calendar Challenges this month, we look forward to seeing your creations following the theme For a Child.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Crafty Calendar Challenge - Chuck the Cherub

It's the first Saturday of the month and that means a new challenge at Crafty Calendar.  The sponsors for this month are Crafty Ribbons and Dr. Digi's House of Stamps.   There is a theme this month also:  Use Texture and Add a Ribbon.

For my design team project, I had the pleasure of using Dr. Digi's Chuck the Cherub digital image.  This Cherub is so funny, I don't understand why he's carrying a flashlight..possibly he's lost his bow and arrows?

This card measures 5" x 5", is a tent folding card with 2 ribbons; the white one is hard to see and with texture on the card stock; some of the stripes are glittered.  I've also added 3 pieces of card candy for more texture.

I hope you've been inspired to join us this month at Crafty Calendar, hope to see you there.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Crafty Calendar Challenges - Peonies

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog and 2019!  It's going to be a great year.

It's time for another challenge at Crafty Calendar and the sponsor for this 1st challenge of 2019 is SheepSki Designs.  For my design team project, I chose to use the Peonies image.

My design is a 5" Rocker card.  I colored the image with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers, fuzzy cut and mounted on dimensional foam.  I embossed the green mat with a Brick Wall folder for some added interest.  I also mounted the sentiment on foam pads and added some buttons to complete the design.  It's a very nice digital image and just seemed suited for a Rocker card.

Please join us at Crafty Calendar Challenges for your opportunity to win some gorgeous images from SheepSki Designs.

I also want to remind you that a new Challenge Blog has started at The Paper Funday Challenges and the 1st challenge is an Anything Goes!  Your creation must be made with paper and the challenge runs for an entire month.  Please stop by and join the fun!

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Crafty Calendar Challenges - Sweet Christmas with a Friend

Hello and thanks for stopping by.  It's time for another challenge at Crafty Calendar and our sponsor this round is Lawn Fawn!  The winner will receive a $25 gift voucher and that's so exciting and so gracious of them to sponsor this challenge for us!  The Theme for our challenge is "It's Christmas Time".

This sweet image of a little girl and her Penguin friend was just so adorable, and in-line with our theme, I used it to create a card for my Design Team project.  I do not know who is credited for creating this image as this was gifted to me in a swap; if anyone knows, please leave me a comment.

I colored the images up with my Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers and added some Silver Wink of Stella on the snowflakes and the penguins' hat band and ball.  I kept this A2 sized card pretty simple by my standards and I'm pleased with how it turned out.

We hope you will join us at Crafty Calendar this round for your chance to win a great prize from Lawn Fawn!

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Crafty Calendar Challenges - Biffo the Birthday Clown

Hello and Happy Saturday!  It's time for a new monthly challenge at Crafty Calendar and this month the theme is Paper Piecing.  We have 2 great sponsors this month which means there will be 2 winners...that's right....2 winners.

The sponsors this month are the fabulous Doctor Digi House of Stamps and Crafty Ribbons.  I had the pleasure of using Biffo the Birthday Clown from Dr. Digi for my Design Team Project.

Following the Paper Piecing Theme, I paper pieced 2 different colored mats, the image on a black mat, the "What a Circus" sentiment and the "Admit One" ticket.  The latter 2 are cut files from the Cricut Birthday Cakes and Carousel Cartridges.  The card is a A-6 size (4.5" x 6.5") landscape, side-fold card.

Dr. Digi also offers Biffo the Birthday Clown in a pre-colored image that makes putting a card together a quick project.  I used the pre-colored image for this card, which measures A-6, portrait, tent fold style.

I hope you'll join us at Crafty Calendar this month for your chance to win a prize from one of our generous sponsors.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Crafty Calendar Design Team Project - Unique Folds

Hello and thanks for visiting me today.  My project for the September 2018 Challenge at Crafty Calendar is a Unique Fold card design using an image from our sponsor this month Lily of the Valley Digi Stamps.  This image is named Autumn and she is lovely.

I created a 5x7 gatefold card that features a full length image of Autumn; the sentiment will be added to the back.

I colored the image up with Spectrum Noir Alcohol markers and die cut fall leaves out of various colors of card.  When folded up, this card resembles a book.  I quite like the idea and hope you've been inspired to create your own unique fold card and join us at Crafty Calendar Challenge this month.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Crafty Calendar Challenges - August Design Team Project

Hello Everyone - it's August and that means it's time for another Challenge at Crafty Calendar Challenge.  This month the theme is "Dots and/or Stripes" and the prize sponsor is the wonderful A Day for Daisies.

In keeping with the theme of Dots and/or Stripes, I simply couldn't decide which one to use so I decided on both!

The striped paper is designer paper I had in my stash from last years' Christmas card creating and the red paper was dry embossed using a Swiss Dots embossing folder.  The image was provided by A Day for Daisies and it's the Holly Berry Fairy.  Such a sweet little Fairy nestled in a sprig of Holly Berries and leaves.  I colored her using Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers.

Please stop by Crafty Calendar Challenges this month and enter for your chance to win some sweet images from A Day for Daisies.  I hope you were inspired to create something lovely, enjoy your August and until next time, Happy Crafting!
