It's Your Day!

Hello Friends and Happy Wednesday.  I hope your day was fabulous and you did something fun.  I got a little too much sun on Monday so I've been in the air conditioning doing a bit of crafting and coloring, and I have a quick share for you today featuring a sweet floral digital image from Power Poppy.

This image is from the Auricula Theater digital set; a flower I thought I'd never heard of until I googled it.  I've seen these flowers many times and have even potted some in the past. I've colored the image using Copic Alcohol Markers.

The patterned paper is a snippet from my scrap box, the focal and mat have been cut using a nesting arch die from Hero Arts, the sentiment is from Woodware and cut using a stitched sentiment die from Kat Scrappiness, and has been popped of foam pads for dimension.  Lastly, I've added Peridot colored gems and called this card complete.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Happy Days

Hello and Happy Monday from Sweltering, Sunny Florida.  We're in store for another hot day with temps topping out at 96 degrees F/35 C.  That's hot for May folks! I have a quick share for you today featuring an adorable Frog from the Happy Days Set (sss202723c) by Simon Says Stamp.

I've had this sweet set in my stash for a while now and never inked it up.  In an effort to use what I have, I decided to use it today.

I've colored the image using Copic Alcohol Markers and die cut the focal panel using a nesting circle die from Kat Scrappiness.  The patterned papers are from a 12x12 paper stack by Die Cuts with a View and the water droplets are from Kat Scrappiness.

The sentiment is from the same stamp set and stamped on a stitched sentiment strip die cut, also from Kat Scrappiness.  The focal panel and sentiment have been popped on foam pads from dimension.

That's all for today.  If you're looking for me, I'll be in the pool.  Have a fabulous day and until next, Happy Crafting!

Classic Design Challenge #05-2025

Hello and Welcome Back! Today begins a new challenge at The Classic Design Challenge Blog where the theme is Always Anything Goes with an Optional Twist.  The Twist this month is Masculine and our generous sponsor is Angie Blom Digital Designs.

For my team project, I've colored the Thanks Dad digital image from Angie Blom using Copic Alcohol Markers.  This is just one of the images included in the digital set, which also includes sentiments.  I've went with a Father's Day theme, also incorporating the optional twist of Masculine.

I did not resize the image as I wanted to keep it large and tucked into the bottom right corner.  The sentiment has been popped on foam pads and is from the Mini Messages Stamp Set by Cardz TV (retired).  To complete the design, I've added a snippet of patterned paper from a My Favorite Things paper pad and a Baker's Twine Bow.

We hope you'll join us at the challenge and play along for your chance to win a prize from Angie Blom Digital Designs.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Beautiful Blossoms Challenge #29 - May/Jun 2025

Hello Crafty Friends!  It's the 15th of the month and that means a new challenge at The Beautiful Blossoms Challenge Blog.  Our challenges are all about florals and an optional mood board is provided for inspiration.  This month, the mood board is a combo of interesting colors:

For my team project, I've colored up one of the floral images from the Nature's Canvas Kit by Taylored Expressions.  I love how the images are drawn in an "artsy" style and I'm glad I decided to purchase this kit before it sold out.

Using Copic Alcohol Markers, I've colored the stamped images and die cut using the coordinating dies.  In hindsight, I should have went with a coral shade instead of orange but the mood board is optional after all, and I do like blue and orange together.

I've used diagonal stitched oval dies from Kat Scrappiness to create a frame, and placed the arrangement on a panel that has been pierced using the Fanfare Cutting Plate from Taylored Expressions.  I've popped the oval frame and florals on foam pads for dimension.

To finish the design, I've stamped and die cut the sentiment, from the Taylored Expressions Timeless Greetings Set and popped on foam pads.  Lastly, dusty rose sequins have been added for sparkle and shine.

We hope you'll stop by the challenge and join us, we love seeing everyone's creative designs!  That's all for now, so until next time, Happy Crafting.

The Paper Funday Challenge #76 - May 2025

Hello Crafty Friends and Welcome!  It's the 1st Wednesday of May and time for a new Paper Funday Challenge.  Our generous sponsors this month are Altenew and Picket Fence Studios.  For my design team project, I've used the Aeonium African Succulent Stamp from Picket Fence Studios, however I couldn't find this stamp set on the site, it may be retired.

Picket Fence Studios are known for their larger than life images, and this one is gorgeous.  I'll admit, it intimidated me as I didn't exactly know how to color it and I've had this stamp in my stash for a while.  I did a google search for this succulent and found this color combo and thought, that's easy enough so let's give it a go!

I've colored the image using Copic Alcohol Markers, and added some white dots here and there using a Uniball Signo Pen. To get as much of the image as possible on the card front, I went with a 5.5" square panel for this 6" card.

The sentiment is from the Altenew Versatile Greetings Die Set; I've cut the words from gold mirror card and used a black shadow, then mounted on foam pads.  Lastly, I've added smoky gray gems from Kat Scrappiness.

Please join us at the challenge, we would love to have you join in the fun!  And a huge thanks to our generous sponsors this month.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

The Inspiration Station Challenge #72 - April 2025

Hello Friends and Happy Monday!  Today is the 1st Monday of the month and that signals a new challenge at The Inspiration Station Challenge Blog.  We have a lovely inspiration photo for you this round, and it can be interpreted in so many ways:

For my design team project, I've created a card that could be used for Mother's Day.  I've left the inside sentiment blank until I decide what I'll use the card for.  My mother passed away in 2014 and my mother-in-law in 2010, so I may give this card to my granddaughter, so she can give it to my daughter for Mother's Day.

I've used the "Elephant Friends" Stamp set from Pretty Pink Posh and colored the 2 sweet elephants using Copic Alcohol Markers, the sentiment is from the same stamp set.

Using 2 sizes of the nesting Hexagon Dies from Hero Arts, I've cut panels and mats for the focal images and sentiment.  I've fussy cut the adorable critters and popped on foam pads, as well as the sentiment.  To give the critters a place to "sit", I've used 2 mirrored peel off strips from Love from Lizi.

To add texture and interest to an otherwise flat white panel, I've embossed the panel behind the elephants with the Floral Fantasy embossing folder from Cuttlebug (an oldie but goodie!).  The designer paper is from Recollections and the finishing touches are silver sequins from my stash.

The team and I hope you'll stop by the challenge this month and share your inspired projects.  We're always amazed at the creativity everyone shares with us, and we hope to inspire you with our projects.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

You're Special on Your Birthday

Happy Sunday Funday!  I hope your weekend has been great and you've enjoyed some Spring-like weather.  The pollen in the air certainly has my allergies acting up, and I'm getting a sore throat...hope it's not a cold.

Today, I have a quick share featuring 2 birthday party goers, actually 3 but one is more mischievous than the others.  The images are from the Birthday Party Stamp Set by Penny Black.

I've colored using alcohol markers, and masked off the edges of the panel, then blended with light lilac ink to create a soft frame.  The sentiment and die cut word are part of a Combo set from Crafter's Companion.

This is such a sweet image, as all Penny Black images are, and this card was a quick and easy make.  That's all I have for today.  I wish you a great week ahead and until next time, Happy Crafting!

Take a Break

Hello Crafty Friends and Happy Monday! I hope your weekend was wonderful and you're ready for a fabulous week.  I did manage to get some crafty time in this weekend, so I have a quick share for you today featuring an adorable mouse from Gerda Steiner.

I've colored him using alcohol markers and the panel has been die cut using a nesting postage die from Catherine Pooler.  The papers are from an older 6x6 paper pad by Color Bok (purchased at Wal-Mart) and the sentiment was included with this digital image.

To finish it off, I've added sequins from my stash.  Isn't he cute?  This card is going to a friend who's been working extra hard and I've reminded her multiple times to slow down and smell the roses.  Let's hope this card gets her to heed my advice.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Inspiration Station Challenge #70

Hello Crafty People, I hope you're doing well.  We've been sick around here and I've not had the energy nor the mojo to be creative, only within the past few days I've had the energy to create a few cards.

Today is the 1st Monday of the month and it's time for a new challenge at The Inspiration Station Challenge Blog.  I know lots are wishing for Spring and our inspiration photo reminds me of warm, sunny days in the garden.

I was inspired by both images in the photo and I've used the Butterfly & Flower Digital Stamp from Creative Worship by Sweet n' Sassy Stamps for my card.  The image has been colored using Copic Alcohol Markers, and white dots have been added to the butterfly using a Gelly Roll Pen.

The sentiment was a freebie from the blog of my dear friend Donna Ellis of Creative Smiles. I decided to keep the card design CAS as the image is so pretty and the sentiment so sweet, I thought this card didn't need anything else, except for a few golden sequins.

We hope you'll visit us at the Inspiration Station Challenge this month and share your inspired cards.  We' always enjoy visiting everyone and are constantly amazed at all the talent.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Candy Cane Christmas

Hello Crafty Friends and Happy Fri-YAY!  I hope you're week has been wonderful and you have plans for something fun this weekend.  For me, I'm hoping to get some Christmas packages wrapped and under the Tree along with some crafty time.

Today I have a quick share featuring an image from the "Candy Cane Christmas" stamp set by Picket Fence Studios.  I've colored the image using alcohol markers.

As I've stated many times before, I'm not a CAS kinda girl.  I love texture, color and pattern so in an attempt to go CAS with this card, I just couldn't resist splattering with Dr. Ph. Martin's White Ink.  I just can't help myself; when I look at one of my CAS designs, it always looks like it's missing something.

No other bells or whistles have been added, and a huge KUDOS to those who are CAS masters, who make their designs look stunning.  That's all for today, so until next time, Happy Crafting!
