Pammie's Inky Pinkies - The Cutting Cafe

Hello Again!  I'm back to announce today starts a new challenge at Pammie's Inky Pinkies and the gracious sponsor this week is The Cutting Cafe.  This sponsor has loads of SVG Cutting Files and templates for those without an electronic cutting machine.

For my design team project, I created a fun shaped card with the Crayon Shaped Card SVG file.  This card also comes in the following formats:  PDF, SVG, MTC and WPC.  The set also includes sentiments in PDF and JPEG formats.

It's a cute, fun shaped card, easy to put together and I have a Cricut Machine so I opted to use the SVG file.  I cut a rainbow of card scrap and paper pieced the project together.  The sentiment is one included in the set.  I added White Gel Pen doodles and sequins to complete the project.

Please join us this week at Pammie's Inky Pinkies and until next time, Happy Crafting!

Have a Bee-youtiful Day

Good Morning and Happy Fri-YAY!  Today's make and share features Bees, Ribbon, a Flower and an Autumn Vibe.

The images are from the Beautiful Bees Stamp and Coordinating Die Set from Gina K. Designs.  To color the images, I used Dried Marigold, Carved Pumpkin, Fossilized Amber and Peeled Paint Distress Inks as Watercolors.  The designer paper is from the 12x12 Jen Hadfield Warm and Cozy paper stack and the center white panel has been embossed with the Cricut Cuttlebug Embossing Folder Mosiac.  For a final touch, added Nuvo Crystal Drops in Clear, loads of Wink of Stella and a pretty ribbon with bow.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Happy Mail - Pammie's Inky Pinkies

Hello!  Today begins a new challenge at Pammie's Inky Pinkies and our sponsor this round is The Cutting Cafe.  This challenge has a theme which is Orange.  For my Design Team Project, I had the pleasure of creating a shaped card from the Cutting Cafe.

The Cutting Cafe offers files in an SVG format for cutting machines such as the Cricut and Silhouette.  If you do not have a cutting machine, they also offer files in a JPG format for hand cutting.  Also included in your purchase are instructions and recommended dimensions for your project.

I used the Happy Mail Digital File in the SVG format, uploading it to Cricut Design Space.  I cut the recommended files in 3 different colors - the Shadow layer in solid Orange, the Middle or body of the card in White and the Outer Overlay in a Polka Dot Patterned card.

I wanted to embellish my card so I used die cuts and green gems.  To give the card a bit of dimension, I inked around the images with distress inks.  I am pleased with the finished project, it was very easy to put together.
Please stop by Pammie's Inky Pinkies and enter your Orange themed project for a chance to win a gret prize from The Cutting Cafe.

Until Next Time, Happy Crafting!

The Paper Funday Challenges - October Challenge

Hello and Happy October to All!  Are you experiencing Autumn weather yet?  Here in Florida, we had a cool down of sorts....in the 80's instead of 90's for a few days but that's all for now.  Hopefully it will cool sown enough for me to open windows and have some fresh air come into the house.

It's time for a new challenge at The Paper Funday Challenges.  The theme for this month is Anything Goes with the Optional Twist of Halloween.  Our wonderful sponsor for October is All Dressed Up Stamps.

I've created 2 cards for this challenge; one for the Twist and one ATG.

Card #1 was a fun, quick and easy Halloween Card to put together.  I used my Cricut and the Bats with Oct 31 image from the Creepy Critters cartridge through Cricut Access.  I added a simple mat that was embossed with a brick wall pattern as well as a Moon embossed with a swirls pattern.  I cut a Banner to layer up and called this card complete.  It's a standard A2 size that has been distressed with Black Soot distress ink.

Card #2 for the Anything Goes Theme is a Autumn themed card with the flower coming from the Cricut Access cartridge Flower Shoppe.  I followed a sketch from Cardz TV, using designer papers from the Photo Paper Play paper pad Autumn Day.  This card is also a standard A2 size with the sentiment from Cardz TV; I love Mary's tutorials and she was one of the You Tubers I watched over and over when I started cardmaking.

We hope you will join us this month at The Paper Funday Challenges, we would love to have you and hope to inspire you with our Design Team projects.

Until Next Time, Happy Crafting!

Cardz 4 Galz Challenge - Weather Conditions

Hello and Happy Valentine's Day!  I wish you a day filled with love and good chocolate :)

A new challenge starts today at Cardz 4 Galz and the theme for this round is Weather Conditions.  I had to give this theme some thought.  I didn't want to create anything with a winter theme (most of us are over Winter!) and I don't have any stamp sets specifically for weather conditions then it came to me.....a Summer Beach Day with the weather being clear, hot and breezy!

Mr. Alligator is chillin' in his hammock, enjoying the sea breezes and a gorgeous, clear, sunny day!  This card measures a standard A2 and all images are Cricut cuts.  I've added some faux pearls and gold Stickles for accents and called it complete.  Are you dreaming of that summer day?  It will soon be here!

Please join us at Cardz 4 Galz and please remember to visit the new challenge blog The Paper Funday Challenges and try your luck at winning.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Cardz 4 Galz - Hearts

Hello and Happy Thursday!  Today is the start of a new challenge at Cardz 4 Galz Challenge Blog.  The theme for this round is Hearts and using the colors Red, Pink or White.

This time of year, I am crafting for Valentine's Day so my design team project reflects the holiday along with all the theme elements.

The card is a standard A2 size with designer papers from the Recollections paper pack titled Love and Devotion.  The Unicorn face is a Cricut Design Space cut from the cartridge Unicorn Hair, Don't Care.  This cut would also make the cutest T-shirt!

We hope you will join us at Cardz 4 Galz for the challenge.  We look forward to seeing you there.

Also, the 6th of February will start a new challenge month at The Paper Funday Challenges.  The theme for February is Love and there is a Twist of the colors Red, Pink and White.  Please join us there also!

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

You're a Scream

Hello Everyone and thanks for visiting today!  It's getting closer to All Hallows Eve and I've been busy creating some spooky cards for the occasion.  It's been a while since I've used my Cricut for cutting files and paper piecing so for this card, I used the Potions and Spells Cricut Cartridge.

Two spooky Owls perched in an old tree, set against an glowing moon!  I do love paper piecing and forgot how much I missed it so stayed tuned for more paper pieced cards coming soon!

Until Next time, Happy Crafting!

Thinking of You Sympathy Card

Hello everyone and thanks for visiting.  Today I'm sharing one of the sympathy cards I was asked to make.  I have a hard time with sympathy cards because #1 I don't like making them and #2 I struggle with how to create them.  I don't want to make them to flashy and for a lack of a better word...disrespectful.  I think I managed to create a 6" x6" tasteful and yet beautiful card for my customer.  I hope she likes it.
I used a digital paper from Scrapbooking Gems on Etsy for the mat and Anna Griffin print and cut flowers from the Cricut Design Space.  The butterfly was one from my stash as well as the ribbon and faux pearl.  The die cut piece is also from the Cricut Design Space.

I hope you have a wonderful week and until next time, Happy Crafting!

Shaped Cards

Hello and thanks for visiting!  Today I am sharing shaped cards I created using the Cricut Design Space.  First up is a cute Witches Boot image that I doubled in order to create a front and back, then welded together back to back to create a fold.

The image can be found in the Cricut Happy Hauntings cartridge.  It is a paper pieced project which means the base of the card is the purple, another piece to layer is the orange piece and the last to layer is the black piece.  I added some die cuts; the spider and the bat as extra embellishments and applied clear Wink of Stella to them.  The little pumpkin is a sticker from the Dollar Tree.

I'm pleased with the outcome of this card and I definitely see more shaped cards in my future.  I hope you have been inspired to try some shaped cards as well.  If you don't have access to Cricut Design space or other cutting machines, try using dies or even drawing yourself an image.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Love You a Latte

Hello and Happy Friday Eve!   It's Thursday afternoon as I'm posting this and I'm craving a pick me up...more specifically...COFFEE!!

With that being said, here's something that I currently have on hand...not the real thing but it will have to do until I can get to my local coffee shop!

This was a quick and easy card.  It's a standard A2 (4.25" x 5.5"), I used Kraft card for the base, die cut some mats from designer paper and used an image I found on Cricut Design Space.

I think I will give this card to my husband because I love him a lot and he's crazy about.......iced coffee!  :)

Thanks for stopping by and until next time, Happy Crafting!

Lovely Lavendar and White Card with Matching Box

Hello Everyone!  I hope all is well with you and yours.

Today I have another card with matching box to share with you.  I couldn't resist creating this set using my favorite color which is Purple and all shades thereof.  This card measures 4.25" x 5.5" (A2).

The die cuts used for this card are the lace doily, the white background mat and the sentiment circle.  The sentiment is heat embossed with Ranger Gold Fine Embossing Powder.  The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the ribbon is from my stash (Wal-Mart I believe).

I dotted the flowers with liquid adhesive and sprinkled extra fine glitter on the adhesive.  The adhesive will dry clear and all that's left to be seen is the glitter.  This technique of using glitter in this way was inspired by Christina Griffiths at Flowers, Ribbons and Pearls.

The Box was made using heavy weight cardstock, Neenah 110 lb Solar White and Embossed Purple cardstock placed on top.  The box is finished off with a ribbon closure and the box measures 4.5" x 5.75", slightly larger than the card for a good fit.  *** Tip:  I used a circle punch to cut 1/2 circles from the sides of the lid in order to provide an easier opening of the box.

Both the card and box are being offered for sale in my Etsy Shoppe (link to your right - in the column).

That's all I have for you today; I hope you were inspired and until next time....Happy Crafting!

Lemon and Blue Card with Matching Box

Hello Everyone, I hope all is well with you and yours.

Today I want to share the first completed project in a series I am creating.  I love to create embellished cards however they can be too bulky to properly fit into an envelope so I decided I would create a box to match the card.

This project was very enjoyable to create; the lemon and blue combo turned out fantastic and I feel the black sentiment really sets the card apart from crowd.

I used some of my favorite embellishments which are flowers!  I also used die cut leaves and a background piece I cut from Cricut Design Space.  I embossed the blue mat with an unbranded embossing folder and added some lace trim from my stash.  The sentiment and yellow shadow piece are also from Cricut Design space images.

The Box was embellished with a polka dot mat and some matching ribbon.  The card is an A2 size ( 4.25" x 5.5") and the box is slightly bigger than that to accommodate the card.

This card and box are currently listed for purchase in my Etsy Shoppe (link to my shoppe on the right).  I hope you enjoyed this project today and were inspired.  Please come back to see more cards with matching boxes this week.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Anna Griffin Shabby Chic and Vintage Card Set

Hello Everyone and to all the Mothers out there...I hope your day was extra special!

Today I am sharing a set of 4 note cards I created using Anna Griffin Designer Papers, Vintage Flowers and Butterflies.  I used my Cricut Access to purchase the images, then printed and cut them to use for my card fronts.  One of the note cards has a little Song Bird ephemera image from K & Company.  For all the cards, I used photopolymer stamps from CardzTV Stamps.

These beautiful cabbage roses are some of my favorite images.  I added some pink lace and Nuvo Drops to simulate pearls.

This little Song Bird is so sweet.  I used a circle die to cut out a circle for the focal images, inked the edges of the papers with Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink, used Nuvo Drops to simulate pearls and finished off with seam binding tied into a bow.

I feel this card has such a dramatic coloring scheme and is quite eye catching.  Anna Griffin Vintage Floral images are so lovely.

This card has a bit more embellishment.  I used two different dies for the main focal point mat and the sentiment scalloped ovals.  I added some lace and faux pearls (not Nuvo Drops this time).  I inked all the edges with Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink and finished with a spray of Shimmer Spray Glitz.

Last but not least, I went with a Butterfly for this card as I felt I had 2 florals and 1 bird so I needed a butterfly to finish the set.  This Butterfly image is another Anna Griffin image that I purchased from Cricut Access.  I used satin ribbon, a die cut for the focal image to rest on and some fauz pearls.  For the finishing touch, I spritzed with some Shimmer Spray.

I hope you enjoyed my note cards and the lovely images from Anna Griffin as well as the stamped sentiments from CardzTV.  I had so much fun creating these cards and they are currently available for purchase so Please visit my Etsy Shoppe for this card set.

Thank you for visiting and until next time, Happy Crafting!

A Wooden Crate of Daisies

Hello Everyone!  I hope all is well with you and yours.

I love box cards and when I came across the tutorial for this sweet wooden crate of daisies I couldn't resist creating it myself.

The tutorial can be found on the Mixed Up Craft Site here:  Daisy Week.  This lovely lady has a wonderful talent for creating unique fold projects and this daisy box is no exception.  I followed her instruction but added my own spin on things.

I used beige 110 lb. cardstock for the crate base and sent the strips through the Cuddlebug using a wood grain embossing folder.  I inked the strips with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Vintage Photo.  For the flowers, I used an unbranded daisy die set I purchased from AliExpress and hand cut the stems from green cardstock.  The stems were a little too flimsy for my liking so I glued strips of paper together to give the stems some strength.   I colored the centers of the flowers with a yellow alcohol marker (Ohuhu Markers on Amazon).

I cut a circle using an unbranded circle die set I purchased on AliExpress and stamped a sentiment from the Scrapbooking Queen for the front of the box card.  I needed a place to write a sentiment so I cut out 2 mats, inked the edges with Vintage Photo, stamped the sentiment from a CardzTV Stamp Set and attached to the back of the flower crate.

This lovely daisy crate can be used as a shelf or desk sitter; it will also fold flat for mailing.  It will fit into a stand A2 card sized envelope.

I hope you enjoy my post today.  Till next time, Happy Crafting!

It's Birthday Time

Today I'm sharing these adorable digital images I recently purchased from Bugaboo Stamps.  I created Birthday cards and I do believe the lady in the bikini is my favorite!

I downloaded the digis from Bugaboo and uploaded to Cricut Design Space.  I then used the Cricut to print and cut the images.  I added color to the images with colored pencil and used mineral spirits to blend the color.

I used Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink in Salty Ocean to color the mat under the Beach Lady, used a polka dot patterned paper for the cake and ran 2 different pieces of cardstock through my Cuddlebug using 2 different embossing folders for the coffee cup.  I mounted everything on card bases that measures 4.5" x 5:5"; a standard A2 size card.

I'm pleased with how they turned out - they were a fun project.

Art Journal Page - Sing Your Song

I've recently discovered Art Journaling (yeah..I know....I'm a little behind the trend) and have decided to start keeping one.  I enjoy mixed media and it seems the thing to do is keep an Art Journal to assist with the experimenting of different mediums and keep track of progress.

Here is my first official Art Journal, the Strathmore Softcover 500 Series Mixed Media Art Journal: ( Dick Blick Art Products )

And here is my first official 2 page layout in my new Mixed Media Art Journal:

I had great fun creating the layout.  The bird image is from the Cricut Baby Shower cartridge, the birdhouse comes from the Cricut April Showers cartridge and the branch with flowers from the Cake Basics cartridge.

I used acrylic paints for the background colors, white gesso with a piece of bubblewrap for the circle texture.  Ranger archival ink was used with an unbranded foliage stamp, with the border stamp from IndigoBlu (a Limor Webber Design) and the lettering stamps from Echo Park.  Mixed Medium Gel was used over the images to create a non-porous surface so details with archival pens could be used as well as sealing the entire layout.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you'll follow this blog and come back soon.

Excited About My New Endeavor

Hello and allow me to introduce myself.  My name is Donna and I live in Central Florida, married to a Veteran of the Armed Forces and we have grown children.  I have always crafted in one form or another for as long as I can remember.  I knit, crochet; I've dabbled in glass arts, mosaics and most recently I've fallen in love with paper crafting and Mixed Media.

Thanks for stopping in for a read and a look 'round.  This is something new for me and I'm excited about the opportunities I hope to generate with my blog and my Etsy Shoppe.  I plan to update this blog at least twice a week with projects, tutorials, product reviews and plenty of pictures.

I have recently re-opened my Etsy Shoppe, which can be found here:  Divinity Designs by Donna  Please stop by and take a look at my latest additions.  I'm adding items slowly and hope to have everything listed by week end.

In the meantime, here is a little note card I created for fun.  It represents how I'm feeling at this very moment:  Let's Chill.  This notecard is an A2 size; measuring 5.5" x 4.25".  I used watercolor pencils to color in the stamped images and created a little beach scene.  I'm dreaming of summer, swimming and just laying in a hammock!

I'm looking forward to the next post and until then, stay safe and be kind.

It's Springtime!

I love the Spring....Pretty flowers, fresh air, baby bunnies, chicks, ducklings...and of course rain showers.

I created this Spring Themed card using my Cricut Cutting Machine and the Nate's ABC's cartridge (which is also available on Design Space for those who have the subscription).  I used 110 lb Neenah Solar White cardstock for the base and clouds along with various cardstock papers for the design elements.

I love to paper piece...it's kinda my thing for this moment so this card was a delight to put together.  The boots, umbrella, puddle and cat tail were all paper pieced creating lots of layers and dimension.
