Wildflower Field - The Paper Funday Challenge June 2023

Hello Friends and Happy Wednesday!  Today begins a new challenge month at The Paper Funday Challenge Blog.  The challenges are Always Anything Goes with an Optional Twist and the Twist this month is:  No Squares Allowed.

For my team project, I've went with the Twist and created a circle shaped card using Nesting Dies and the Wildflower Field Embossing Folder from Simon Says Stamp.  The card measurement is a 5.25" circle.

In order for the floral images to stand out, I've roughly and imperfectly ink blended and water colored Catherine Pooler Inks on the raised areas.  After the ink was dry, I've splattered the panel with diluted purple ink.

I've added a pre-stamped sentiment strip, also from Simon Says Stamp, that has been popped on craft foam for dimension.  For the final touch, iridescent confetti from Pretty Pink Posh has been added for sparkle.

Please stop by the challenge and join in.  We would love to see your design and if you're up to the Twist, share a project that's not a square shape.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Paper Funday Challenge April 2023

Hello Friends and Happy Wednesday!  Today begins a new challenge month at The Paper Funday Challenge.  The challenge is Anything Goes with an Optional Twist of:  Flower Power.  The sponsors this month are Conie Fong Art and The Colour of Love.

For my project today, I'm featuring the Anouska Flowerlily Flower Pot Pretty digital image, generously provided by our sponsor The Colour of Love.

I've colored the image using Prismacolor Pencils.  I kept the design fairly sweet and simple, only using 1 panel of patterned paper and a black mat and loads of glitter....let me explain....

To jazz it up, I dotted liquid adhesive on the artist drawn circles/bubbles and sprinkled glitter over top.  The glitter adhered to the adhesive and now the card is super sparkly with no glitter fall-off.  The sentiment is from an older Card TV set, and popped on foam for dimension.

We hope you'll join in the challenge!  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Paper Funday Challenge - February 2021

Hello and Happy Wednesday!  Today starts a new monthly challenge at The Paper Funday Challenges.  The theme this month is Anything Goes with Optional Twist of:  Love is in the Air and we have two wonderful sponsors:  Sherri Baldy's Besties and Hetty Clare.

For my design team project, I created a Valentine's Day card for a swap partner using a new Fluffy Besties image that I thought was perfect for such an occasion.

I've colored the image using Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers, designer papers from the Recollections "Love and Devotion" 12x12 paper pad and sentiment from the Cardz TV "Mini Messages" stamp set.  I followed Sketch #30 from Cardz TV Free Sketches and popped up the small left panel and focal image using foam pads.  Finally, the only bells and whistles used was  a bit of Wink of Stella on the hair band, the chocolate box ribbon, her lips and earrings.

Please join us this month for the challenge at The Paper Funday.  We hope to inspire you with our team projects and cannot wait to see what you've created using the Anything Goes with Optional Twist theme.

The Paper Funday Challenges - January 2021

Hello and Happy Wednesday!  Today begins a new monthly Challenge at The Paper Funday Challenges with the Theme of Anything Goes and Optional Twist:  Use the Color Blue.  This month we have 2 wonderful sponsors; Star Stampz and KaramfilaS.  Wow, a couple of Great Sponsors and 2 winners this month!

For my design team project, I created a New Year card using the Winter Houses Digital Papers from KaramfilaS.  This shoppe has so many wonderful papers, clip art and etc...I spent hours looking at everything!

The scene has a lovely snowflake sky so I added Snowflake die cuts to further enhance the Winter feel.  This card also matches the optional Twist of using Blue in the design.  The only Bells and Whistles are the gems I added to the snowflakes.  The sentiment is from the Mini Messages stamp set by Cardz TV.

A quick and easy card make but not at all simple with the wonderful colors and cute house images. Please join us this month for the challenge and until next time, Happy Crafting!

Paper Funday Challenges - Paper Nest Dolls

Hello and Happy Wednesday!  Today starts a new monthly challenge at The Paper Funday Challenges with the theme being Anything Goes with an Optional Twist of Christmas / Holidays.  The sponsor for this month is the wonderful Paper Nest Dolls.

For my design team project, I used the Gingerbread House digital stamp to create a fun little Christmas Scene.

I colored the house with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers, fussy cut and adhered flat to my card front.  The designer papers and Sentiment are from the Echo Park "A Gingerbread Christmas" 6x6 paper pad and the Poinsettia Floral Embellishment is from The Paper Studio.

I die cut 2 snow banks, embossed them with a Swiss Dots embossing folder and used glue with loose glitter to create sparkly snow on the roof, Chimney top, over door, window boxes, tops of gum drops and tops of snow banks.

This was a fun card to create and as I went along, I kept thinking of more things to glitter....why not?  One can never have too much Sparkle at Christmas!  Please join us this month at The Paper Funday Challenges, we would love to see your holiday projects!

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

The Paper Funday Challenges - Hetty Clare

Hello and Happy Wednesday.  Today begins a new challenge at The Paper Funday Challenges  with a theme of Anything Goes and Optional Twist of Halloween.  Our sponsor this month is the fabulous Hetty Clare and I had the pleasure of using her Pony Cross Country digital image in my design team project.

I created an A2 sized Autumn card and colored the image with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers.  I used 12x12 loose papers I purchased at Hobby Lobby for the Mat and Banner.  I used Kraft card as my base and backed the designer papers with a brown card.  I kept everything simple, letting the cute image take center stage, only adding 3 golden gems in the lower right for accent.

We hope you'll join us this month at The Paper Funday Challenges.  Please stop by to see what the other Design Team members have created and enter your own project for a chance to win.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

A Kitty and Some Cactus

Hello and Happy Wednesday!  I'm back with another cute card that I created for a swap buddy.  The image is from the Gerda Steiner Spring Digital Stamp Bundle.  There are some adorable images in this bundle and my card was created using the cute Kitty and Cactus images.

The papers are from the Crate Paper Good Vibes 6x6 paper pad.  I die cut a mat for the images to sit, popped the kitty up on foam pads for dimension.  I colored the images with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers, die cut a ready made sentiment that is included in the paper pad and added some glittery ribbon to finish it off.

I want to remind you today starts a new monthly challenge at The Paper Funday Challenges, the theme is Anything Goes with the Optional Twist of Make it Masculine.  There are 2 sponsors for the June Challenge and there will be 2 Winners.  Please stop by and join the fun.

The Paper Funday Challenges - Anything Goes With Twist: Masculine

Hello and Happy June!  Today starts a new monthly challenge at The Paper Funday Challenges with a theme of Anything Goes with Optional Twist of Masculine.  The sponsor for this month is Keepin' It Kawaii Design on Etsy.

My design team project was created using the optional Twist of Masculine; I created a Father's Day Card using the Fishing Trip clip art collection.  There are plenty of elements in this collection to create all sorts of cards with any theme.  They images are pre-colored so it makes for a quick and easy card.

This card measures A2 and I inked a panel that covers the entire front of base with Distress Oxide Inks.  I printed the images out twice, fussy cut and decoupaged theme for dimension.  Stamped the sentiment and Viola!  Done.  Quick, easy and Cute.

We hope you will join us at The Paper Funday Challenges this month and share your projects.  We would love to see your creations and hope we will inspire you in some way.

The Paper Funday Challenges #17 - Anything Goes With Twist: Mother's Day

Hello and Happy May 2020! So glad the month of April has come and gone and we, as a society, are moving closer to living normally.  The Pandemic will soon be a memory....or at least I hope!

Today starts a new challenge month at The Paper Funday Challenges.  The theme this month is Anything Goes with an Optional Twist of Mother's Day.  Our sponsor for this challenge is the ever popular and very sweet All Dressed Up Stamps.  For my design team project, I had the pleasure of using the Llama with Baby Image for my card.  I liked the image because I felt it could go for Mother's Day; Momma Llama carrying her Baby Llama in a basket.

This card measures the standard A2 (4.25" x 5.5"), I used 2 different designer papers I had in my stash, popped up the focal image and sentiment on foam pads for dimension and added some coordinating sequins for some bling.  The images were colored with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers and I'm pleased with the completed card.  This image is so sweet and perfect for Mother's Day.

We hope you will join us at The Paper Funday Challenges and I wish you a great month of May.....and a very Happy Mother's Day.

Until Next time, Happy Crafting!

The Paper Funday Challenges - September Challenge

Hello and Welcome to September!  Autumn has always been my favorite time of year but not that it matters much here in Florida.  I love to travel to the Carolinas and Georgia in the Fall; I love to see the colorful landscapes.

We begin a new challenge at The Paper Funday Challenges.  The theme for this month is Photo Inspiration.  The following photo will be your creative inspiration.

For my design team project, I was inspired by....you probably guessed it.....the colors.  This reminds me of a few places I've seen in Georgia and the Carolinas.

All the elements on the card are Die Cuts that I colored with Distress Inks.  Some elements have been mounted on dimensional foam squares for added height and interest.  This card measures 6" square.

We hope you will join us this month at The Paper Funday Challenges and share with us how the photo inspired you.  We look forward to seeing you over there and Best of Luck in the prize draw!

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

The Paper Funday Challenges - August Challenge

Hello Everyone!  Wow, this summer is flying by and it's time for a new challenge at The Paper Funday Challenges.  This month is another dual themed challenge:  Back to School and/or Camping.

Dear Husband and I love to camp in our Class C RV so I thought a Camping themed project would be right up my alley.  I created a Mini Album which was so much fun to put together.

I used the Simple Stories Cabin Fever Collection as well as a few digital papers for this Mini Album which measures 6"x6".  There are lots of  pockets and flaps to hold many photos.  Our last camping trip was The Florida Keys so I need to get busy filling up the album with those memories.

Please join us this month at The Paper Funday Challenges.  We would love to have you and look forward to being inspired your Back to School and/or Camping projects!

Until Next time, Happy Crafting!

Penny's Paper Crafty Challenges - Freesia

There's a new challenge starting at Penny's Paper Crafty Challenge Blog today and our sponsors for this week are SheepSki Designs and Little Blue Button Stamps.

For my design team project, I had the pleasure of creating with the Freesia Vase image from SheepSki Designs.
This is a lovely image and I chose to color a vase full of different colored Freesia.  I wasn't familiar with this flower so I research and discovered they come in a lovely variety of colors; the multi-color combo reminds me of Spring time!

This card measures the standard A2 with a simple design; just a bow made out of seam binding and a few sequins for bling.  Please join us at Penny's Paper Crafty Challenges this week and also please stop by the new challenge blog at Paper Funday Challenges.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Make My Monday Challenge - Use Words or a Sentiment

Hello and Happy Monday!  It's time for a new challenge at Make My Monday Challenges and the theme this challenge is to use Words or a Sentiment.

For my design team project, I chose to use a sentiment and created a New Year's Card which measures 4.5" x 6", bigger than an A2 but smaller that an A6.  I went with these dimensions due to the size of the die cuts; they were exactly 4.5" x 6".

I was uncertain of the color combo but after completing it, I like it.  The black really makes it Pop.
Please join us at Make My Monday Challenges this round, we'd love to have you!

I would like to mention the new challenge blog The Paper Funday Challenges.  It's a monthly challenge blog and the 1st challenge is Anything Goes Made with Paper.  Please stop in and enter your paper creations.

It's time for another challenge at Crafty Calendar and the sponsor for this 1st challenge of 2019 is SheepSki Designs.  For my design team project, I chose to use the Peonies image.

My design is a 5" Rocker card.  I colored the image with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers, fuzzy cut and mounted on dimensional foam.  I embossed the green mat with a Brick Wall folder for some added interest.  I also mounted the sentiment on foam pads and added some buttons to complete the design.  It's a very nice digital image and just seemed suited for a Rocker card.

Welcome 2019!

Happy New Year and Welcome 2019!   All the holiday décor has been packed away, the lights are off the house, the floors have been swept and our dinner is in the oven.  I'm starting 2019 off to a good start and I hope you are too.

I have lots of crafting plans this coming year:  I want to venture into the Glitter Tumblers and also being more proactive with selling.  My dream has always been crafting for a living but in reality, I know that won't pay the bills so all I really want is to support my crafting habits.  If I apply myself, hopefully I will be able to do just that.

In addition, I'm starting a new Challenge Blog that debuts tomorrow (02 Jan 2019).  It's a monthly challenge with a prize awarded to a randomly chosen winner.  I hope you will join us in our challenges this year, please visit The Paper Funday Challenges for your chance to win!

I wish you and yours a Healthy, Prosperous, Fun and Creative 2019!

Until Next Time, Happy Crafting!
