Classic Design Challenge #01-2025

Hi Friends, it's the 15th of the month and that signals a new challenge month at The Classic Design Challenge Blog.  Our generous sponsor this month is SheepSki Designs and our Optional Twist is Winter Fun.

I've used the "Snow Happy" Digital image to create my card, and this snowman is definitely having a bit of Winter Fun creating Snow Angels!

There's not much coloring needed for a Snowman, just a few pops of color and a bit of shading to help him appear more round.  It's hard to see in the photo but I've highlighted the snow and "motion lines" with Crystal Stickles, so there would be glistening snow in the scene.

I almost added a few sequins but they just didn't look right, so I've left them off.  The patterned paper is from a 12x12 paper pad from Color Blok, which I've had in my stash for at least 10 years (I have so much designer paper, I forgot I had this pad..for shame, for shame!).  The sentiment is from the "Snowflake Season" Stamp Set by Penny Black.

That's all I have for today.  The team and I hope you'll visit us at The Classic Design Challenge, where the theme is Always Anything Goes with Optional Twists.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Warm Wintery Wishes

Hello and Happy Friday!  We've made it to the weekend and I hope you're staying warm and toasty, lots of snow and ice in the Northern Hemisphere.  I would like to take a moment to mention and send prayers to all those affected by the horrific Fires in California.  It looks apocalyptic!

I have a quick share today featuring a Sweet Snowman and Penguin friend sharing some Wintery Hugs.  The image is from Bugaboo Stamps and I've colored using Alcohol markers.

It seems teal and pink are all the rage recently, so I couldn't resist going with that color combo in my card.  The papers are from a holiday/winter pack from Scrapbook.com. The sentiment is part of the digital set, but unfortunately Bugaboo Stamps is no more and I miss them!  Jody, I hope you are well and maybe one day, you'll share your art with us again.

The focal panel and sentiment have been cut using stitched nesting dies, the sentiment has been popped on foam pads for dimension.  Lastly, I've added sequins for additional interest and shine.  That's all I have for you today.  Have a fabulous weekend, until next time, Happy Crafting!

Kindness & Joy

Hello Friends and Happy Sunday!  I hope your weekend has been lovely thus far, we're having a "cold snap" here in Central Florida and it's been nice to wear leggings and long sleeved tops, and have the windows open to air out the house.  Temperatures will soon be back to their seasonal norms, I hope the cooler weather returns, at least for Christmas.

Today, I have a quick share featuring the Kindness & Joy Stamp Set from Penny Black #30-778. I collect Snowmen so I fell in love with this adorable image, it's perfect for holiday and winter cards.

I've colored the image using alcohol markers, the patterned papers are from the "Winter Wonderland" 6x6 paper pad by Doodlebug Design.  I've cut the focal image and mat using scalloped stitched oval nesting dies from Alina Craft.

The sentiment is pre-made and from a package of holiday sentiments by Scrapbook.com, and I've popped it on foam pads for dimension.  To finish off the design, I've added shiny sequins from my stash and Crystal Stickles have been added to the Snowman hat band and mistletoe.

Thanks all I have to share today, I hope you have a fabulous week.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Jan's Digi Stamps Challenge - Lumberjack Snowman

Hello Friends!  It's the 1st Monday of the Month and that equals a new challenge at the Jan's Digi Stamps Challenge Blog.  Our themes are Always Anything Goes and today, my design team card features a Lumberjack Snowman!

Before I get to my card, I would like to remind everyone of the Monthly Sale that is currently going on at Jan's Shop.  Several new sets are on sale until Christmas Day and Jan is offering a FREE set also.  So please stop by and check out the sale and get your Free Set!

The snowman image comes from the Snowglobe Family Digital Set.  This set contains 5 pre-colored images, 5 B/W line images and 5 sentiments.  I colored my snowman using Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers and gave him a Lumberjack look, then fussy cut him and set aside to work on a background panel.

I created a panel for my snowman to live on by smooshing Strathmore Watercolor card into various diluted shades of pink and red distress inks.  Using a Kat Scrappiness Stitched rectangle die, I cut the panel and mounted on craft foam for dimension.

The designer papers are from the Echo Park "A Lumberjack Christmas" 6x6 paper pad, the cardbase is 110 lb. Neenah Solar White Classic Crest card and embellishments from the Kat Scrappiness Sparkling Snow Pearl Mix have been added for extra interest and shine.

We hope you'll join us at Jan's Digi Stamp Challenge this month.  We hope to inspire you with our designs and can't wait to see your makes.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Pammie's Inky Pinkies Challenge - Sheepski Designs

Hello Crafty Friends and Welcome to Monday.  Today begins a new challenge at Pammie's Inky Pinkies and the sponsor this round is Sheepski Designs.  For my design team project, I went with a Winter theme.

Using the Snow Happy Digital Stamp, I created an A2 Top Folding card that could easily be turned into a holiday card using a seasonal sentiment on the inside.

Snowmen are my favorite Winter and Holiday images to use and this guy is just the sweetest isn't he?  I kept the design fairly simple, only using a few alcohol markers to color him in.  I covered him in Wink of Stella, which is hard to see here, but he is sparkly.

Aside from the Wink of Stella, the only other embellishment I've used is a dyed piece of seam binding tied into a bow.

Please join us this week at Pammie's Inky Pinkies Challenge Blog!  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Penny's Paper Crafty Challenges #460 - Anything Goes

Hello and Happy Wednesday!  I hope your holiday preparations are going smoothly, we only have 14 more Sleeps until Father Christmas comes!

Today starts a new challenge at Penny's Paper Crafty Challenges and our sponsor this week is the cute and quirky OddBall Art.  For my design team project this week I've had the pleasure of working with the adorable image Chilly Willy.  I'm still working on Christmas Cards so I was so happy to color him up with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers for one of my last cards this season.

This card measures the standard A2 (4.25" x 5.5"), I cut some snowflakes out of silver mirror card for accents and heat embossed the sentiment with Ranger Gold Embossing Powder.  The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn and the designer papers are from The Paper Studio 12"x12" paper stack titled Ornamental Christmas.  For the final touch, I added some clear Ranger Stickles on his hat tie and his scarf.

Please visit us this week at Penny's and share your creation for a chance to win some images from OddBall Art.  The team and I hope to inspire you with our projects and to be inspired by yours.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Creative Knockouts Challenge - Snowman Frame

Happy Thursday Everyone and I hope you are well.  It's time for another challenge at Creative Knockouts and the theme this challenge is CAS (Clean and Simple).

I've had the pleasure of using the Snowman Frame by Crafty Sentiments Designs who is also the sponsor for this challenge, for my design team project.

Clean and simple is not my normal style so this was a fun project to work on and I did try to make it as CAS as I could but simply couldn't resist not adding some glitter to this adorable snowman image.  The glitter is hard to see in the picture but it's there on the hat band and the light blue stripes of the scarf, also the red berries of the Holly.

I hope you'll pop over to Creative Knockouts for this challenge and join us by entering one of your CAS creations.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Penny's Paper Crafty Challenges - Snowball Scott

Hello and Happy Wednesday!  It's time for another fun challenge at Penny's Paper Crafty Challenges and the sponsors this week are Di's Digi Stamps and A Day for Daisies - 2 wonderful and generous sponsors that have the cutest images.

My design team project this week features the Snowball Scott image from A Day for Daisies.
He is so cute and totally chubby - just like a snowman should be in my opinion!

I decided to go with a round shaped card to mimic the round, chubbiness of Scott.  The circle base measures 5.5" round with the mat measuring 5.25" round; the image circle measures just a tad over 4.75".

For embellies, I added snowflakes die cut out of gold mirror card, cut the base and the mat with a scalloped edge using Cricut Design Space and added some Rock Candy Distress Glitter to the hill Scott is standing on - do Snowmen stand?  Finally, I stamped the sentiment on his belly and called it finished.

This is a tent folding card with the inside finished including a stamped sentiment.  I had great fun creating this project and appreciate A Day for Daisies proving this adorable image to color up; which I did with my Spectrum Noir Markers.

I hope you'll pop over to Penny's Challenges and join in the fun this week and try your hand at winning some images from our wonderful sponsors.

Until Next Time, Happy Crafting!

Penny's Paper Crafty Challenges - Let It Snow

Hi All!  It's time for another challenge at Penny's Paper Crafty Challenges and this week we have 2 wonderful sponsors: Bugaboo Stamps and Scrap 'N Dipity Designs.  This challenge I had the pleasure of using the 4 square Let It Snow image from Bugaoo Stamps.

I chose to use only 3 squares to create this sweet holiday card.  I love Bugaboo images and these snowmen are just so much fun!

This card measures 5.5" x 5.5", the images are matted on plain green card and placed on a white card base.  The snowflake is a die cut that is recessed with some green bling added.  I used Snow Tex for the "snow" on top of the sentiment square.  For the final touch, I place glue drops here and there, then sprinkled fine glitter over the glue.  The glue dries clear and leaves behind the glitter.  It's best seen in the red square.

I hope you've been inspired to create and join in the fun at Penny's Challenges this week!

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Creative Knockouts Design Team Project - Snow Couple Celebrate

Hello!  It's time for another challenge at Creative Knockouts and today I'm sharing my design team project using a sweet digi stamp provided the challenge sponsor Di's Digi Stamps.  This image is named To Both of You and can be found HERE.

The theme of this weeks' challenge is Inside and Out.  The object is to complete the inside of the card as well as the outside.  I've posted a pic of my project's front and inside here.

This digi is just adorable and I used my Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers to color the couple up.  I then used some festive papers for layering and added a sticker of a gift for the inside.  The sentiment is from a Hero Arts stamp set I've had in my stash for quite a few years.  And lastly, I placed clear sequins on the for a bit of sparkle.

I hope you've been inspired to join in the fun this week at Creative Knockouts Challenges and to visit Di's Digi Stamps for some adorable images.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Penny's Paper Crafty Challenge #390 - Design Team Project

It's Wednesday and that means it's time for another challenge at Penny's Paper Crafty Challenge Blog.  It's challenge #390 and the theme is Anything Goes.

The sponsors for the challenge this week are Just ME Digital Stamps and Odd Ball Art.  The images from both of the sponsors are super awesome and I had the privilege of using the Snowbuddies image from Just ME Digital Stamps.

Oh my goodness, these Snowbuddies are adorable and I couldn't resist coloring them up with Sepctrum Noir Alcohol Markers and adding a brilliant product named Snow Tex to create the snowy ground.  I added some faux stitching to create a border and didn't feel it needed much else so we can call it complete.

I'm getting a jump start on my holiday cards and since it's still July - this card is technically a Christmas in July project *wink wink

As a reminder - please don't forget to visit the Challenges for Days Birthday Bash Post to leave a comment as well as leaving your comment on my Birthday Blog Post for a chance to win some awesome prizes.

I hope you were inspired and will visit our sponsors to see the wonderful images they have to offer.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!
