Yellow Daisies

Happy Friday!  The month of July flew by and the Autumn Season will be here before we know it,  I'm ready for some cooler weather; at least cooler for Florida Standards...80's instead of 90's LOL.

Today's make and share is a bright and cheerful card using an Embossed Embossing Technique....I'll explain:

I dry embossed a white card panel with a Daisies Folder but before embossing, I covered one side of the embossing folder; the raised side, with Versamark Embossing and Watermark Ink.  I embossed and sprinkled fine white embossing powder over the entire piece of card, then heat embossed the panel.

After cooling, I inked the embossed panel with Squeezed Lemonade and Scattered Straw Distress Inks and was left with rustic Daisy panel.   I die cut 2 stitched circles and stamped a sentiment from Kelly Creates, added a ribbon and bow to complete the card.  I am very pleased with the outcome and will be experimenting with this technique again.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Beauty is Everywhere

Happy Sunday to you, I hope you have a wonderfully blessed day.  My make and share today is a card size I usually don't make and features flora, fauna, ink, mirror card, a rainbow and a bit of water coloring.

Beauty is everywhere is the theme and using stamps from several sets I created a 5"x 7" card with 6 different mini vignettes.  Each square is 2", I used distress inks and water to add color.  I backed each mini square with black card and mounted them flat on a piece of mirror card.  Funny thing, I couldn't take a picture straight down because my reflection was in the picture, so I took a picture from the bottom up.  Finishing up, I mounted the sentiment on foam pads and added flat back crystal drops for added interest.

I hope you take some time this coming week to find your Beauty...it's all around you...start by looking in the mirror!

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Stud Puffin - Sending Love

Hi and Happy Saturday!  I hope the sun is shining where you are and you are enjoying a wonderful day.  Today my make and share features 2 Puffins from the Lawn Fawn Stud Puffin Mini Stamp Set, the coordinating dies, distress inks, twine and DSP.

I have several of the Lawn Fawn Mini Stamp sets along with the coordinating dies mainly because they are an affordable choice but also because they are so cute!  I created an A2 card by die cutting a tag and inking it up with Distress Ink in the color Salty Ocean.  I created my own template for the waves but got a little distracted and turned the template around, instead of scrapping it, I kept going....my advise...just keep going!  I colored the images with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers and die cut them and placed them on the tag; to appear as if they are on the Sea..riding the waves.

I cut DSP mats from the Pink & Main Summer Splash 6x6 paper pad, rounded one side of the card and papers with my Crop-A-Dile Corner Chomper and popped up the focal tag on foam pads.  Finishing up, I added some Baker's Twine, highlights with a Sakura White Gelly Roll Pen and Wink of Stella to the hearts.

Thanks for visiting and please come back again for another make and share project.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Hello and Happy Friday!  I'm excited to announce today begins a Guest Designer Spot for me at the Colour Crazy Challenge.  I will be featuring 1 project a month for the next 3 months and I'm truly honored.  For my first GDT project, I had the pleasure of creating with Winter Dove, by the challenge sponsor Createful Heart Design.

My card measures A2 and I've used Spectrum Noir Alcohol Marker to color the image.  The single DSP mat is from the Northern Lights Collection by Recollections.  I heat embossed the sentiment and for a final touch, added Gems and Wink of Stella for sparkle.  My first Christmas Card for the season and I'm pleased with the results.

Please join us for the challenge at Colour Crazy, we would love to have you.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Aloha, Happy Summer

Today's make and share is an A2 card featuring the Lawn Fawn Aloha Stamp Mini Stamp Set, Falling Bubbles Stencil, Distress Oxide Ink, Tag Die Cut, DSP and Baker's Twine.

I have several Lawn Fawn Mini Stamp Sets and the Coordinating Dies but I seldom use them.  I wanted a quick color today so I set out to go through those mini sets to pick out something for summer.  I chose the Aloha Set and colored the images with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers.

I die cut a tag and stenciled some circles using Distress Oxide Cracked Pistachio Ink.  I used 2 different sentiments for the card; one from the Aloha set and one from an unbranded set I have in my stash.  The Designer Series papers are from the Echo Park Good Day Sunshine 6x6 paper pad.  For the finishing touches, I added some Baker's Twine, Wink of Stella and popped the Pineapple up on foam pads for dimension....viola...complete!

A quick, summery card for these HOT July days.  Stay Cool and until next time, Happy Crafting!

Pippa's Lady Bug

Hello and Happy Saturday!  Today's make and share features a digi stamp from Di's Digi Stamps named Pippa's Lady Bird.  I looked for the image on her site but could not find it so it may be retired.

This was a quick make using Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers to color, papers from the Recollections Patisserie 6x6 paper pad, die cuts, a sentiment from Cardz TV and Pink Gems.

I would like to remind everyone to please visit The Paper Funday Challenges, plenty of time left this month to enter for a chance to win a prize from sponsor Vectoria Designs.  The theme is always Anything Goes with an Optional Twist.  The twist this month is The Great Outdoors.

Hug & Kisses

Hello and Happy Friday!  The weekend is here and I hope your days are filled with whatever it is you would like to do.  Today's make and share is a Clean and Simple Card (for me) and features Distress Oxide Inks, an Embossing Folder, Pearl X Mica Powder, Vellum, Die Cuts, Heat Embossing and small Gems.

I love the color combo of Distress Oxide Inks in the colors of Cracked Pistachio and Peacock Feathers so I inked up a panel then embossed it using a Vines Folder from Darice.  For some added interest, I mixed some Pearl X White Mica Powder with some water and dropped splashes on the panel.  The water reacted with the oxide inks and left shimmery spots.

I cut a 2" piece of Vellum and embossed it with the same folder.  I die cut flowers using unbranded dies I had in my stash and popped each one up with a foam pad.  I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment, popped it up with foam pads and lastly, added small Peridot colored gems to the flower centers.  The bright white flowers and sentiment are lovely against the inked panel.  Reminds me of a cool dip in the pool.

Until Next Time, Happy Crafting!

Best Flowers for a Friend

Hello, I'm back with today's make and share using Gina K. Designs Best Flowers Stamp Set and the Ornamental Fans Stencil, Fine White Embossing Powder, Ranger Archival Inks and Ranger Distress Inks.

My card measures A2 (4.25"x 5.5") with 2 mats and a frame that I cut myself using a ruler and exacto knife.  I stamped and heat embossed the floral images and leaves, then cut out with the matching dies.

I inked the images with Distress Inks in the colors Wilted Violet and Mowed Lawn.  I stenciled over a white panel with Ranger Archival Ink in the color Violet.  Lastly, I stamped the sentiment and added some iridescent sequins for sparkle.

This is a lovely stamp set from Gina K. Designs and was part of the July Kit.  The kit included 3 stamp sets, a stencil, matching dies for one of the stamp sets and 8 sheets of 8.5" x 11" cardstock in lovely colors.  I cannot wait for Gina to release the August Kit...I'm ready to get my hands on it!

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Dollie Daydream Goes East

Happy Lazy Sunday to All.  Today's make and share is a Slim Line Card featuring an image from Polkadoodle's Dollie Daydream Goes East Collection, Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers, Die Cuts, DSP and Gems.

My card measures 3.75" x 8.5" and fits perfectly into a Business Size (#10) envelope.  I recently acquired slim line dies so I cut 2 panels for this card.  I colored the image with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers, mounted everything flat; no dimension this time...which is unusual for me as I love my foam pads.  Lastly, added some dashes and dots with a Gelly Roll White Pen for highlights and Pink Gems for sparkle.

I'd like to remind everyone of the Anything Goes with a Twist Monthly Challenge at The Paper Funday Challenges, still lots of time left to enter and the sponsor this month is Vectoria Designs.

Until Next Time, Happy Crafting!

Have A Mice Day!

Happy Saturday to All!  I've finished my Saturday chores early which allowed me to finished up today's make and share.  It's an A2 size card featuring an image from Brutus Monroe, Deco Foil, Die Cuts, Various Circles Stencil and Spectrum Noir Alcohol Marker coloring.

I created a panel using The Crafter's Workshop Hot Foil Gel and Deco Foil Transfer Sheet in the color Silver Shattered Glass.  I stamped and colored this little Mouse from Brutus Monroe and mounted both die cut focal panels on foam pads for dimension.  Lastly, I added a wee bow made from Baker's Twine that matched the color of the card; with a small crystal gem placed in the middle.

Have a fab weekend and until next time, Happy Crafting!

Hello Friend

Yay...it's Friday and today's make and share is a Friendship card using washi tape, an embossing folder, Wink of Stella, big sentiment dies and ink.

I embossed a piece of card and laid washi tape in a pattern (because I have so much washi that I thought of putting it to good use this way).  I then blended a rainbow using the Ranger Distress Oxide Inks, die cut a the words a couple of times for the heftiness and glued straight to the panel.  I'm pleased with the outcome and it was a quick make.  For the final touch, I applied Wink of Stella over the Big Sentiment words and viola....card complete.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Love Will Find A Way

Today's make and share is a card inspired by Gina K. Designs and features an image from her latest kit.  Also, a sentiment from Kelly Creates and some ink blending.

I'm usually a News at Noon or an Evening News Watcher but lately I cannot bear it.  So much turmoil, so much hate and separation.  This card came to me over the weekend and I think it's appropriate for the current times we are living.  With a little inspiration from a Gina K. Designs You Tube Video, this is my take on her make.

In hindsight, I think I should have allowed the Distress Oxides to dry completely before stamping the focal image and the sentiment.  I left them sit for about 30 minutes but maybe that wasn't enough time; it appears the circle is in front of the image and sentiment instead of the other way round; it's ok I suppose.  I still like the card and it represents how I'm feeling at the moment.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Watercolor Bouquet

Today's make and share is a Watercolor Bouquet.  I haven't played with my watercolors in a very long time.  I used to make at least 2 cards a week using my watercolors but put them away about a year ago and forgot about using them.  I had an idea in my head today, inspired by Gina K. Designs and thought I would give it a try.

I embossed a 3.75" x 5" panel, then scored every 1/2" to create a Fence with foliage hanging and growing over it, inked the panel with Vintage Photo and Shabby Shutters Distress Inks.  I stamped the Bouquet and colored with Gansai Tambi Watercolors, die cut the image, mounted on another smaller panel that was embossed with the same folder.  I popped up the focal image with foam pads and finally added the sentiment and a few pieces of Card Candy to complete the project.

That's my make and share for today, I hope you enjoyed it and gain some inspiration from it.  Until Next Time, Happy Crafting!

Beach Babe Dottie

Hello!  I'm back with another make and share.  Today's card features the Beach Babe Dottie from Bugaboo Stamps.

This card is a Slimline card, my first ever!  I usually make A2 and Square cards but received a Slimline Die Set recently and wanted to try my hand at it.  This card measures 8.5"x 3.5" and fits into a Business Size (#10) envelope perfectly.

I colored her with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers, added some Gelly Roll Sparkle Pen highlights to her hair, added some Stickles Clear Glitter Glue to her Earrings and Sandals (can't really see the glittery effect in this picture) and added sequins to polish off the project.

This is a top (tent) folding card; I cut 2 panels for the base and glued them together at the top.  I hope you like her, Ms. Dottie celebrated the 4th of July in Style!

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Let's Taco 'Bout It

Happy 4th of July....it's getting dark and time for the Sparkles and Poppers!  Today's make and share is a cute card I created from an old stamp set I purchased at a Church Tag Sale a few years ago; I don't know who to give credit as the designer., the set was in a plastic baggie and was too great a buy to pass up...$1!

This card measures A2 (4.25"x5.5"), kraft card as the base.  I layered 3 mats and popped the Singer up on foam pads for dimension.  I colored with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers and added a bit of Gelly Roll Sparkle pen on the Sombrero.  That's it for today so until next time, Happy Crafting!

Deirdery's Day Off

My card for today features a digi stamp from Dr. Digi's House of Stamps titled Deirdery's Day Off.  I don't use Dr. Digi Stamps as often as I should because they are truly funny and an easy coloring project.

I figured this image was a perfect make and share on the Eve of the 4th of July Holiday Weekend.  Deirdery is certainly enjoying her day off by lounging at the beach, cocktail in hand, with a Pitcher of the cool drink to top off with.

This card measures A2 (4.25" x 5.5"), the image colored with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers.  I kept the layout simple by creating a 1 layer card; the panel die cut to give a nice border.  The only dimension is the sparkle heart gem added to accentuate the sentiment.

Happy Summer Everyone and to those visitors from the States, Happy 4th of July!  Until Next Time, Happy Crafting!

Challenge #19 - The Paper Funday Challenges

Wow...it's the 1st of July ans that means today starts a new month and a new challenge at The Paper Funday Challenges.  The theme this month is Anything Goes with an Optional Twist: The Great Outdoors and the fantastic sponsor is Vectoria Designs.

I had the pleasure of creating my design team project with components found in the Botanical Junk Journal Kit.  This kit has many wonderful elements used in creating journals.  I'm not a Journal creator but a card maker, so I put my thinking cap on and created this card using ephemera, tags and pages from the kit.

In addition, I added ephemera and sentiment strips from Tim Holtz.  The Book-A-Trix form was die cut using a die I had in my stash (that I completely forgot about).  I made certain to add dimension to the project, inked around the edges of everything with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and lastly, spritzed the project with Shimmer Spray.

I surprised myself with this project; it was daunting and out of my comfort zone but in the end, I can say I had fun creating this card.

I hope you'll visit The Paper Funday Challenge Blog and join us this month with some of your projects.  Try something out of your comfort zone, you may surprise yourself!

Until Next Time, Happy Crafting!
