Beautiful Blossoms Challenge #30 - Jun/Jul 2025

Hello Friends and Happy Sunday!  Today starts a new challenge month at The Beautiful Blossoms Challenge Blog.  Our optional mood board this month is:

The months of June and July are patriotic here in the States, but I didn't go for a patriotic theme necessarily, however I did use the colors from the mood board for my card, and colored up the "Kindness is the Way" digital stamp from Power Poppy.

I've colored the image using Copic Alcohol Markers and chose to use the entire panel of florals for the card front.  After coloring, I've trimmed the panel and popped on foam pads for dimension and to help distinguish the panel from the card base.

The sentiment is from an older set by The Scrapbooking Queen, which I've trimmed using a nesting oval die, then popped on foam pads, with a nesting of silver thread from Altenew. Lastly, I've added some light blue gems for sparkle.

We want to invite you to share your Floral inspired projects with us at The Beautiful Blossoms Challenge.  We hope to see you there and Until next time, Happy Crafting!

It's Your Day!

Hello Friends and Happy Wednesday.  I hope your day was fabulous and you did something fun.  I got a little too much sun on Monday so I've been in the air conditioning doing a bit of crafting and coloring, and I have a quick share for you today featuring a sweet floral digital image from Power Poppy.

This image is from the Auricula Theater digital set; a flower I thought I'd never heard of until I googled it.  I've seen these flowers many times and have even potted some in the past. I've colored the image using Copic Alcohol Markers.

The patterned paper is a snippet from my scrap box, the focal and mat have been cut using a nesting arch die from Hero Arts, the sentiment is from Woodware and cut using a stitched sentiment die from Kat Scrappiness, and has been popped of foam pads for dimension.  Lastly, I've added Peridot colored gems and called this card complete.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Inspiration Station Challenge #69

Hello and Happy Monday Crafty Friends!  It's the 1st Monday of the month and it's time for a new challenge at The Inspiration Station Challenge Blog.  Everyone (including us Floridians) are in a freeze at the minute so I believe this months' inspiration photo is a good one considering the weather:

For my team project, I've went through my digital stamps and found a sweet one from Power Poppy titled "My Little Chickadee" and created a CAS card with a New Year's greeting.

The artist has drawn this image perfectly for coloring as it contains lots of drawn shading, and the colorway of a Chickadee is pretty basic, so the coloring is simple.  I've used alcohol markers to add pops of color to the scene.

I've masked off the edges of the die cut panel and inked a bit of blue ink to create a subtle frame.  The sentiment is included in the digital set and I've enlarged prior to printing.  The patterned paper is from a Winter themed stack from Alina Crafts. Lastly, I've added Silver Crystal Stickles around the sentiment and Clear Crystal Stickles to the berries and snow on the branch.

The team and I invite you to join us at the Challenge this month, we love seeing how the photo inspires everyone, and we hope to inspire you with our designs, so hopefully see you there.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Beautiful Blossoms Challenge #24

Hello Friends and Happy Sunday!  It's the 15th of the month and that means a new challenge month at The Beautiful Blossoms Challenge Blog.  Our challenges are Always Anything Floral Goes with an Optional Mood Board for Inspiration.  The mood board this month is:

Given the time of year, I thought it would be fun to create a non-traditional Christmas Card using colors from the mood board.  My card features the Filigree Tree digital image from Power Poppy and I've colored using alcohol markers.

After coloring the image, I fussy cut it and cut a frame from white card.  I've embossed the frame and placed a panel of glitter card within the aperture, then placed the image, which has been popped on foam pads for dimension.

The sentiment strip is from a package of pre-made holiday sentiments by Simon Says Stamp, and has been placed on craft foam as well.  I've added no other bells and whistles as I felt the glitter card added the right amount of holiday sparkle.

The team and I invite you to join us at The Beautiful Blossoms Challenge this month, we would love to see your Floral Focused projects, and if you use the optional mood board as inspiration, all the better.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Flowering Santa

Happy Fri-YAY friends!  I hope your week has been great; if you celebrated Thanksgiving yesterday, that it was a day filled with blessings.  We had a quiet family day with lots of food, laughs, football and naps!

I have a quick share for you featuring the Flowering Santa digital image from Power Poppy.  The image caught my eye, I just had to have it, so unique and the artistry is amazing.

Santa's beard is full of holiday florals and I've colored the image using alcohol markers. After coloring, I fussy cut the image and popped on foam pads.  The background panel is embossed with a 3-D poinsettia design; the embossed panel was gifted to me in a card swap.

You can see a bit of the embossing in this photo, and of course the Crystal Stickles covered poinsettia flower.  The sentiment is pre-made from a package of sentiments by Simon Says Stamp.  Lastly, I've added silver sequins to complete the sparkly, holiday design.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend, tomorrow we plan on putting up the Christmas decorations.  I love all the decor and twinkling lights but it is becoming harder and harder to get it all up.  I may have to think about downsizing the decorating.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Pammie's Inky Pinkies Challenge - Birds

Hello and Happy Last Monday of August.  This is also the 5th Monday of the month which signals a themed challenge at the Pammie's Inky Pinkies Challenge.

Our theme this week is Birds and there is a Gift Voucher up for grabs from Power Poppy.  For my team project, I've created a Twisted Easel Christmas Card using the Season of Serenity Digital Stamp from Power Poppy.  The Holiday Season is fast approaching so no time like the present to get started on those Christmas Cards.

To start, I've printed the image on Canson Mixed Media paper in order to watercolor.  The mixed media paper is medium weight, handles water great and my printer does not struggle to print on it.  Using my Staedtler Watercolor pencils, I've colored the image and splattered the panel with gold watercolor paint.

I've created mats using patterned paper, die cut the focal image and sentiment using dies from Cheery Lynn Designs which were purchased via Amazon.  I've adhered the mats and focal panel flat while popping up the sentiment in order to act as a "stopper".

I tire of creating the standard top folding cards in Landscape and Portrait orientations but rarely have time to create fun folds or rather I should say I don't take the time to sit still and create them.  Easel and Twisted Easels create a lovely presentation and are quick to make.

Join us at the challenge at Pammie's Inky Pinkies this week, we would love to see your Bird-inspired projects.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Old Time Hollyhocks

Hello and Happy Friday!  It's been a busy week but I've managed to fit in a bit of crafting therapy / watercoloring.  Today I'm featuring the Old Time Hollyhocks digital image from Power Poppy.

Now is the time I start crafting with Autumn in mind but I just had to paint these florals with summer colors.  I did loose watercoloring on mixed media paper using Gansai Tambi watercolors.

My card measures 5.5" square; my favorite square size to make because I use 8.5 x 11 card and this size leaves little waste.  The sentiment is from a Tim Holtz sentiment pack and the embellishements were a gift from a crafty friend.

Thanks for visiting and have a great weekend.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Just us Two: Like Father Like Son at The Inspiration Station Challenge

Hello Friends and Happy Monday!  Today is a busy 1st Monday of the Month so I better get started.  Today begins a new bi-weekly challenge at The Inspiration Station Challenge Blog.  Here in the States, Father's Day is the 19th of June this month and the inspiration photo had me inspired to create a Father's Day Card.

Do you know what movie this photo is from?  I love this movie and have seen it dozens of times and I also love this image from Power Poppy titled Reel Deal.  My father and father-in-law have both long since passed away so I make Father's Day cards for my hubby.

I've colored the image using Alcohol Markers and kept the design void of any bells and whistles.  The sentiment is part of this digital set.

This is a great image for any occasion where a masucline themed card is needed.  I have few masculine type stamps or images in my stash so I was happy to add this one to my stash.

Please join us at The Inspiration Station Challenge.  We would love to see your inspired projects.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Potted Geranium

Hello!  I hope you're well and enjoying Tuesday.  Today I have a quick share using the Potted Geranium digital stamp from Power Poppy.  This is a lovely image and I've kept  my design clean and simple today.

The image has been colored using alcohol markers and the card size is 5x7.  The cardbase is 110 lb. Neenah Classic Crest Solar White card, the sentiment is included in the digital set and the focal panel has been matted with black card.

Even though the image is very detailed, it's an easy color.  I went with the traditional Geranium color of Red, I've not actually seen a Geranium in any other color but I'm sure there must be several varieties.

For the finishing touch, I've added clear droplets from Kat Scrappiness.  Thanks for stopping in today and until next time, Happy Crafting!

Live Simply...Give Generously

Hello and Happy Tuesday.  Today's make and share features a lovely floral image and alcohol marker coloring.  This gorgeous image is a digi stamp from Power Poppy; I LOVE their Florals and I couldn't resist coloring this one up for a sweet and simple card.

I colored the image with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers, the sentiment strip is from the Tim Holtz "Small Talk" strip die cut pack and sequins from my stash.  I strayed away from patterned papers in today's project as I wanted the floral image to be the star.  I love this image, it's so versatile and wonderful for any season.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Fall Haul by Power Poppy

Hello and Happy Sunday!  September is well underway and my favorite time of year is upon us...Autumn!  Living in Florida, I don't get the traditional Autumn colors and Brisk Fall Breezes so Autumn basically represents the beginning of the Holiday Season for me.  I'd also like to mention I've already had 3 Pumpkin Spice Coffees and a slice of Pumpkin Roll this past week!

Today's make and share features the beautiful Fall Haul digital stamp from Power Poppy.  The digi set contains the main focal image and 2 sentiments.

I kept this A2 sized card simple, letting the coloring take center stage.  I colored the image with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers and matted against brown card.  For a final touch, I added clear Stickles Glitter Gel to the Fruit and Vegetables in the wagon.  (Did you know that Pumpkins are a Fruit and not a Veg?).

Until next time, Let the Autumn Crafting Begin...and Happy Crafting!

Everything's Rosy

Hello and Happy Saturday...it's been raining for 2 days here with rain predicted for the next 7!  What better way to spend a rainy Saturday than at the Craft table with a beautiful image and some Alcohol Markers.

Today I'm sharing a Swap Buddy card created using Power Poppy's Everything's Rosy Digital Stamp Set.

This card measures 5" square and simply matted with minimal accents; Nuvo Drops and a bit of Gelly Roll Glitter pen.  I started with 2 colors of green for the leaves but didn't like it so I switched to a green palette with some yellow tint and I like it much better.  The focal image is stunning and enough for this card along with a nice sentiment which is included in the collection.

I hope you are having a great day and getting some time to yourself.  I'm off to cook supper for the family - the work is never done around here but at least I got some time to myself today.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Bountiful Bouquet

Today I'm sharing a card I created using the Bountiful Bouquet Digital Stamp Set from Power Poppy Stamps.  There are 2 lovely focal images in this set along with sentiments.  I printed the images on parchment paper and colored with the Arteza Real Brush Pens.

This was my first attempt at using the Arteza Markers and coloring on parchment.  Not perfect but practice will get me closer.  My next attempt will be to print an image on Neenah Solar White cardstock, coat the image with Golden Satin Glazing Liquid and color the image with the Arteza Blendable Markers.

The papers are from the American Crafts Everyday 6x6 paper pad, I added some ribbon, tied a small bow, placed Nuvo Crystal Drops in the color Simply White in random places and called this one finished.

Until Next time,  Happy Crafting!
