Re-Discovery Hop on Instagram - Rainbow

Hello Friends!  Long time No Share....I've been so busy lately, I don't know if I'm coming or going but I did manage to get my card made for the Rediscovery Hop on Instagram.  The premise of this Hop is to use items from your stash to create a card featuring the theme.  The theme this month is Rainbow.

I've had these Rainbow sets from Kat Scrappiness in my stash for a couple of years and have never used the rainbow set; I've used the sentiment set once before.  While shopping my stash, I found them and they are perfect for this months' theme!

To start, I die cut all the rainbow pieces and ink blended them with Gina K. Designs inks in the traditional rainbow color palette.  After the ink was dry, I splattered diluted blue ink on the cloud and white ink on the rainbow.  I then assembled on a card panel, popping up the cloud on craft foam.

The sentiment has been cut from Gold Mirror card and adhered directly to the cloud.  To finish, I've added iridescent confetti from Pretty Pink Posh.  We would love to have you visit the Hop, it's a 2 day hop his month due to the mere size of the participating list.  Be certain to check out the Saturday and Sunday Hops for loads of Rainbow inspiration!  You can start both days of the hop at @craftwithme101 on Instagram.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Beautiful Blossoms Challenge #6

Hello Crafty Friends and Happy Thursday!  Today begins a new challenge month at The Beautiful Blossoms Challenge Blog. The theme is Always Anything Florals Goes and florals must be the focus of your project.  There is also an optional mood board provided that you can use for inspiration.  This month's mood board follows:

For my card this month, I've taken colors directly from the mood board to create my card.  I've also used the collaboration set from Altenew/Simon Says Stamp titled "From the Rose Bush".

To start, I played with Dyan Reaveley Dylusions Ink Sprays and a doily stencil from Uniko.  I sprayed through the stencil with the ink sprays and set aside the panel to dry.

I stamped the rose layers with Catherine Pooler inks and die cut them with the coordinating dies.  I've ink blended some leaves and decided to leave some of the foliage black and white.

I've matted the panel with black card, popped the rose in front on craft foam for dimension and added iridescent gems for added interest.  I've also embossed the green leaves with a Swiss Dots embossing folder.  Lastly, I reached for my little box of pre-cut sentiments and found the "Hello" cut from the perfect color of card.  It has been adhered flat to the panel.

Please stop by the challenge and see the lovely projects my teamies have created.  You will be inspired by all the beauty.  And please join us by sharing your projects, we love visiting everyone and being inspired by you!

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Wildflower Field - The Paper Funday Challenge June 2023

Hello Friends and Happy Wednesday!  Today begins a new challenge month at The Paper Funday Challenge Blog.  The challenges are Always Anything Goes with an Optional Twist and the Twist this month is:  No Squares Allowed.

For my team project, I've went with the Twist and created a circle shaped card using Nesting Dies and the Wildflower Field Embossing Folder from Simon Says Stamp.  The card measurement is a 5.25" circle.

In order for the floral images to stand out, I've roughly and imperfectly ink blended and water colored Catherine Pooler Inks on the raised areas.  After the ink was dry, I've splattered the panel with diluted purple ink.

I've added a pre-stamped sentiment strip, also from Simon Says Stamp, that has been popped on craft foam for dimension.  For the final touch, iridescent confetti from Pretty Pink Posh has been added for sparkle.

Please stop by the challenge and join in.  We would love to see your design and if you're up to the Twist, share a project that's not a square shape.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Summer Grilling - Jan's Digi Stamps Challenge

Hi Friends and Welcome Back!  Today begins a new challenge month at the Jan's Digi Stamps Challenge and Jan has released 2 new sets for June:  Pirate Life and Rocket Man.   Also, the June Sale is all about Summer and Patriotic Themes, and don't forget about the Freebies Section - some new sentiments and a lovely Iris Flower has been added so get them while you can!

For my design team project this month, I've combined the Summer Grilling and Star Spangled Wreath Sets to create a fun, summer card perfect for the King of the Grill in your life.

The images have been hand colored using Prismacolor Pencils, the patterned papers are from a Birthday pack by Kat Scrappiness and the sentiment strip is from Cards TV.  The "Kiss the Cook" sentiment is included in the Summer Grilling Set.

No bells or whistles have been added other than some highlighting with a white Posca Paint Pen.  I've also popped the sentiment strip on craft foam for dimension.

Please join us at the Challenge, we love visiting everyone and seeing all the lovely projects that are shared with us.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Love and Friendship - Inspiration Station Challenge #50

Hello Friends and Happy Monday!  Today begins a new challenge month at The Inspiration Station Challenge Blog.  The inspiration prompt this month is a gorgeous sunset/sunrise photo and it can be interpreted in so many ways.

For my team project this month, I shopped my stash and decided to use the "Sittin' Tree" Stamp set from Maymay Made It and Distress Oxide Inks to create a background design that was completely inspired by the scene in the inspiration prompt.

To start, I've ink blended the background using distress oxide inks that I felt would make a nice sunrise/sunset color palette.  Once the ink was completely dry, I stamped the images directly on the blended panel.  *TIP:  Before stamping on a blended background, make certain the ink is completely dry, otherwise you will find yourself stamping and stamping to get a crisp, dark image.  Ask me how I know this :)

This stamp set has different types of foliage for the tree.  I've chosen to use the tiny blossoms and I've painstakingly dotted each one with a white Posca Paint Pen.

The ready made sentiment strip is from Simon Says Stamp.  These are nice for quick and easy sentiments, all you have to do is trim them.  And the black background can be heat foiled too.  No bells or whistles were added to the card as I thought the scene was busy enough.

Please stop by the challenge and join in.  We always love seeing how the photo inspires everyone.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!
