Thanksgiving Gratitude

Hello Crafty Friends and Happy Wednesday!  I have a quick share for you today featuring an Autumn theme.  In the States, tomorrow is our Thanksgiving Day holiday and we will be spending it with family and friends.  It's been a tough year for us as a family and I've had fleeting thoughts of foregoing Thanksgiving and Christmas, but that would not be honoring our son Dylan, as the holiday season was his absolute favorite time of year.

We are spending the holiday with my brother and my sister-in-law's family, and I needed to make a thank you card to go along with the hostess gift.  I thought these tattered and distressed leaf die cuts were perfect for the card.

I've went with a square card measuring 6", I've cut the leaves from various colors of cardstock and inked the edges with distress inks. The sentiment was die cut a few times for dimension and the background panel was embossed with the "Texture" EF from Penny Black.  The patterned paper strip is from my box of scrap.

To finish off the card, I've sprayed with Shimmer Spray for a glittery effect.  If you're celebrating Thanksgiving, please have a blessed day and I hope you are surrounded with family. friends and love.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Layered Lily

Hello Crafty Friends, Happy Tuesday to you!  The Card of the Day features lovely Lily Blooms, layered ink stamping and die cutting.

I started my card with stamping the Layered Lily from Altenew using inks from Catherine Pooler.  I die cut and set aside to work on the card base.  I created a frame using Stitched Rectangle Dies from Kat Scrappiness and using papers from the American Crafts Everyday 6x6 paper pad, I layered a piece of vellum over the patterned paper, then stamped and heat embossed the sentiment.  The sentiment is also from the stamp set.

Lastly, added Peridot Faux Gems for added interest and shine, I called this card complete.  Thanks for stopping by today and until next time, Happy Crafting!

Thanks Ever So Much

Hello and Happy Saturday!  Today was a rainy day here in Central Florida so I spent the day in the craft room and re-discovered a technique that I had forgotten about.....Stenciling on Vellum.

This Sweet and Simple card started with stenciling on a piece of vellum.  I die cut a frame and placed the stenciled image against a piece of white card and adhered the frame around the image.  Mounted the stamped sentiment on foam pads and added irridescent sequins as a finishing touch.

The stencil and sentiment are from a box of crafty goodies I purchased at a Church Bizarre so they are unbranded...or at least to me as they do not have the original packaging.  I used Distress Oxide inks to stencil and thoroughly allowed to dry so no smudging would occur when I placed ink side down.

I like the soft look of this piece and I will try this technique again soon.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Floral Thank You

Hello and Happy Thursday!  Today's card features lots of lovely die cuts, pretty patterned paper and sparkle.  I created this card using dies from the Spellbinders "Sincerely Yours" Card Kit.

There are floral and foliage dies as well as an envelope die in the kit so I wanted to create a card using the die cuts as the main focal element.  I die cut several florals and foliage that I could arrange within the envelope.  I mounted some of the florals on foam pads for a bit of dimension, added sequins for bling and a sentiment....complete.

Until Next Time, Happy Crafting!
