Freestyle Watercolor Florals

Hello and Happy Friday!  The weekend has finally arrived and today flew by but I did manage some crafty time this afternoon.  I dusted off the Gansai Tambi Watercolors to loosely paint this gorgeous floral from Altenew.  It's the newest Paint-a-Flower Outline Stamp Set for April Subscribers named Coral Sunset.

I was inspired by the gorgeous projects using this stamp set that I found while scrolling through Pinterest.  I stamped and heat embossed the image on Strathmore 500 Series Ready Cut watercolor paper, then  "freestyle" painted the image with soft lavender and blue tones.  Once dry, I stamped the sentiment in the lower right corner and splattered with black watercolor paint.  The panel is adhered to the card base, no layering used in this design.

If you've not tried "Freestyle" watercoloring. give it a go...it's so freeing to not worry about how well you watercolor because it will always look pretty!

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

"Cow"nt Your Blessings

Hello and Happy Thursday!  Today's make and share features an adorable pair of cows from Bugaboo Stamps.  The image is the Cownt Your Blessings digital stamp with Sentiment.  I colored the image with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers and the designer papers are from the Bo Bunny "Kiss the Cook" 6x6 paper pad.

I fussy cut the image and heart, mounted on foam pads while adhering the sentiment flat.  The only bells and whistles added were twine and Wink of Stella on the hearts.  This card would be adorable for Mother's Day, Valentine's Day or just an everyday card, as I intend to use it.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

A Bit of Whimsy

Hello and Happy Wednesday!  We're at the mid way point of the week with the weekend and May Day approaching quickly.  For today's share, I've created a whimsical floral card featuring heat embossing and watercoloring.

The floral image and sentiment are part of the Gina K. Designs "Forever Flowers" card kit, which I've heat embossed and watercolored with diluted distress inks.  This is a large image and as you see, it covers a 4" x 5.25" panel quite nicely. The bow is a separate stamp, in the same set, so you can choose to use it or not.  I think it adds a nice touch along with the enamel dots to complete the design.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Adventure is Worthwhile

Hello and Happy Tuesday!  Today's make and share features a stamped pair of Giraffes, a Watercolor Sunset, heat embossing and die cutting.

I was gifted this stamp set along with designer papers and chipboard embellishments from a dear friend in Northamptonshire UK.  She received the lot as a free gift with purchase of a cardmaking magazine and stated it wasn't her cuppa tea.  She was so lovely to send it all to me so I had to make her a card with the gift.

I die cut an aperture in the designer paper and stamped the images to appear as though they were peeking out of the foliage.  I watercolored a sunset background using Arteza Real Brush Markers, stamped and heat embossed a black piece of card using gold powder and put it all together with a sentiment strip from the Tim Holtz "Small Talk" strips pack.

I'm rather pleased with the outcome and I hope she likes it as well.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Bountiful Bouquet

Happy Sunday to You!  It's a another rainy day here in Central Florida so what better way to spend the day than creating a Mother's Day Card....it's coming up quickly...09 May 2021 in the USA.

I started by coloring the image with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers.  The image is from the "Bountiful Bouquet" set by Power Poppy.  The sentiment is computer generated, the side panel of blue was embossed, sequins were added and white dots added using a Gelly Roll Pen.

I've not seen flowers this color of Aqua Blue but that's the fun of creating....anything can be whatever you want it to be.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Coral Sunset

Hello and Happy Saturday!  I hope your weekend is fun, relaxing and crafty!  Today's make and share features a gorgeous floral stamp, lovely sentiment, heat embossing and coloring.

My A2 sized card started with stamping the florals from the Altenew Paint-A-Flower April monthly subscription set and heat embossing with gold embossing powder.  I stamped the same image on the top and the bottom; just rotating the card in the Misti.  I colored the images with Prismacolor Pencils, stamped the sentiment. which is from the Altenew "Beautiful Quotes" stamp set and added a snippet of designer paper along the left side.  For the final bells and whistles, clear sequins were added.

Coloring the image took a bit of time but I had my cuppa tea so I settled in and enjoyed the process.  I love the look of the completed design.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Friends Like You

Hello and Happy Thursday!  Today's make and share features a large bloom and alcohol marker coloring.

This gorgeous bloom and sentiment are part of the Friends Like You digital set from Graciellie Designs.  This is a lovely image and I chose to make it quite large for this A2 sized Sweet & Simple card.

I colored the image with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers, added Wink of Stella on the highlighted areas of the petals and black gems for a finishing touch.  I cut the thinnest of black mats for the focal panel and mounted on a Neenah Solar White Classic Crest 110 lb. card base.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

You've Been So Kind

Hello and Happy Wednesday!  My share today features bold florals and coloring with colored pencils.  I recently purchased this set from Dies R Us and it caught my eye because of the whimsical look of the florals.

This is the Woodware "Autumn Flowers" stamp set although I think they can be used for any season.  I stamped the image, then colored in the open spaces with Prismacolor Pencils.  Die cut the panel with a Kat Scrappiness stitched rectangle die, mounted on a wide margin of black card and called the design complete.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Live Simply...Give Generously

Hello and Happy Tuesday.  Today's make and share features a lovely floral image and alcohol marker coloring.  This gorgeous image is a digi stamp from Power Poppy; I LOVE their Florals and I couldn't resist coloring this one up for a sweet and simple card.

I colored the image with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers, the sentiment strip is from the Tim Holtz "Small Talk" strip die cut pack and sequins from my stash.  I strayed away from patterned papers in today's project as I wanted the floral image to be the star.  I love this image, it's so versatile and wonderful for any season.

Inspiration Station Challenge #4

Hello and Happy Monday! Today begins a new fortnightly challenge at Inspiration Station and challenges are based on your interpretation of an inspiration photo.  The photo this challenge is:

For my design team project, I was inspired by the couple in the photo and the love they seem to share.  I used the Gina K. Designs "Watt's Up" Mini Stamp set, which is a new set to me and this was it's maiden voyage so to speak.  This was an incentive set at the last release and may be made available once she releases a new kit the end of April 2021.

I inked a small portion of the background with Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide Ink, splattered some water for effect, stamped the image with sentiment and heat embossed all.  The only bells and whistles used were sequins for sparkle. The stamp  does not include the doodled electrical cording, I hand drew that in to tie the light bulbs together.

Please join us this round at Inspiration Station.  We would love to see how the photo inspires you!  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Beautiful Friend

Good Sunday Morning!  My make today features ink blending, ghost stamping and heat embossing.

I started by ink blending Wilted Violet Distress Oxide ink on a panel of Neenah Solar White Classic Crest card.  Using an older stamp set from Close to My heart; the "Find Your Style" set, I stamped over the panel with Hickory Smoke Distress Ink.  I stamped the main image and sentiment, heat embossed them, added a ribbon with bow and gems for a finishing touch.

A simple card with lots of added interest.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Thanks Ever So Much

Hello and Happy Saturday!  Today was a rainy day here in Central Florida so I spent the day in the craft room and re-discovered a technique that I had forgotten about.....Stenciling on Vellum.

This Sweet and Simple card started with stenciling on a piece of vellum.  I die cut a frame and placed the stenciled image against a piece of white card and adhered the frame around the image.  Mounted the stamped sentiment on foam pads and added irridescent sequins as a finishing touch.

The stencil and sentiment are from a box of crafty goodies I purchased at a Church Bizarre so they are unbranded...or at least to me as they do not have the original packaging.  I used Distress Oxide inks to stencil and thoroughly allowed to dry so no smudging would occur when I placed ink side down.

I like the soft look of this piece and I will try this technique again soon.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Floral Thank You

Hello and Happy Thursday!  Today's card features lots of lovely die cuts, pretty patterned paper and sparkle.  I created this card using dies from the Spellbinders "Sincerely Yours" Card Kit.

There are floral and foliage dies as well as an envelope die in the kit so I wanted to create a card using the die cuts as the main focal element.  I die cut several florals and foliage that I could arrange within the envelope.  I mounted some of the florals on foam pads for a bit of dimension, added sequins for bling and a sentiment....complete.

Oh Happy Day

I'm really loving Butterflies this Spring so I used more butterfly die cuts, circle die cuts from patterned paper, an adorable camera embellishment and sentiment stamp; all from the Spellbinders April 2021 Card Kit of the Month.  The kit comes with lovely dies, beautiful papers and embellishments.

My version of a clean and simple yet sweet and simple card.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Rainbow Butterfly

Hello and Happy Tuesday!  The day has gotten away from me so before it gets much later, I would like to share a Clean and Simple card featuring die cutting, Die Cut Inlay, Ink blending, Stamping and Heat Embossing.

I die cut a butterfly shaped aperture in a piece of card to use as my top layer.  I ink blended a rainbow on the card base in the area behind the aperture then inlaid the butterly in the space; I left the wings free for dimension.  The sentiment, from a set by Cardz TV, was stamped and heat embossed.

For the final touched, added sequins in rainbow order cascading down the front and Fun Stampers Journey Crystal Cuts on the tips of the butterfly wings.

Until Next Time, Happy Crafting!
