The Classic Design Challenge - Jul/Aug 2026

Hello Friends!  Today begins a new challenge month at The Classic Design Challenge Blog and our Optional Twist is:  Any Holiday.  Our talented and generous sponsor this month is Rachelle Anne Miller, and I've colored up an adorable image from the Penguin and Snowman Snowy Christmas Digital Stamp Set. 

I've colored the image using Copic Alcohol Markers, the designer paper is from a holiday stack purchased at Hobby Lobby.  I've used a nesting Arch Die from Hero Arts to cut a window in the patterned paper and added Red Dazzles for sparkle and shine.  

The sentiment is from a holiday pack by Simon Says Stamp and has been popped on foam pads. This adorable little gang looks like they better hold on, they are zooming down the hill!

Fall Dance by RAM Stamps

Hello Friends and Happy Saturday!  I hope your week went well and you're ready for the weekend...and more importantly, here in the States we have the Thanksgiving Holiday coming up, so time to get planning finalized on that.  I'm ready to sit down with family and friends and enjoy good food and fellowship.

I have a quick share for you featuring the precious Fall Dance digital stamp from Rachelle Anne Miller. She looks so happy raking the leaves (something I was never happy at doing). I've colored her using alcohol markers. 

The patterned papers are from my paper stash, bits left over from 6x6 paper pads and the sentiment is from a Penny Black Autumn Stamp Set.  I've popped the sentiment on foam pads and cut the focal image with a stitched nesting die.

To finish, I've added enamel dots to accent the sentiment and called this card finished. I hope you've finished your Autumn cards and have a good start on Christmas.  That's all for me today so until next time, Happy Crafting!

Classic Design Challenge #10-2025 - Oct/Nov 2025

Hi Friends and Welcome Back!  Today begins a new challenge month at The Classic Design Challenge Blog, where it's Always Anything Goes with an Optional Twist.  The Twist this month is:  Autumn Splendor.  Our generous sponsor for this challenge is Rachelle Anne Miller.

I've colored the adorable Canadian Beavers Digital Stamp from Rachelle Anne Miller and semi-stayed with the optional Twist by using Autumn patterned papers.  These little nuggets are just too adorable!

The patterned papers are from the "Welcome Fall" 6x6 paper pad from Carta Bella.  I only have scraps left of this lovely paper pad so I'll need to make some Quilt cards, but I digress...

After coloring the image, I cut out the focal panel using a fancy stitched oval nesting die from My Favorite Things and popped on craft foam for dimension.  

The sentiment is from an older and now retired stamp set from Cardz TV.  The sentiment strip has been cut using a die from My Favorite Things and popped on craft foam.  Lastly, I've added Wink of Stella to the leaves and the Beaver's noses, of course Wink never shows on camera!

Paper Funday Challenges - April 2024

Hi Crafty Friends and Welcome to your Wednesday!  It's time for a new challenge month at The Paper Funday Challenge Blog and we have 2 great sponsors this month:  Rachelle Ann Miller and All Dressed Up.  The Optional Twist this month is:  Sweet Treats.

For my team project this month, I've colored the "Hang in There" digital stamp from All Dressed Up, using my Prismacolor Pencils. 

I've tried a new paper for coloring, one with more "tooth" and I'll say I am not happy with it.  Even though a paper with more tooth is supposed to be a better choice for pencil coloring, I prefer my 80 lb. Neenah Classic Crest Smooth paper.  Using this toothy paper left my coloring blotchy and very hard to blend.

I've blended a very subtle cloudy sky in the background, using a cloud stencil from My Favorite Things.  To add a bit more dimension, I've die cut some clouds, popped the smaller cloud on foam pads and outlined them with Crystal Stickles.  I die cut the focal panel using a nesting rectangle die from Kat Scrappiness.  

Here's a Tip:  I die cut the glitter mat using a frame die from Kat Scrappiness, which left a "hole" in the middle of the glitter mat.  No one knows the middle is missing and I have a piece of glitter card to use on another project.
