Anything But a Card at Catch the Bug Blog

Hello and Happy Monday!  If you celebrated Thanksgiving last week, I hope you had an enjoyable time with lots of love, laughter and good food!

Today on the Catch the Bug Challenge  Blog, it's Anything But A Card Monday.  The design team shares projects with the hope of inspiring you to create something other than a card with Bugaboo images.  For my project today, I used the Gingerbread Christmas Pocket digital image to create a Post-It Note Pad holder.

This is a design inspired by several I saw on Pinterest; it's an Easel Design and it's basically an Easel Card with a note pad adhered to the bottom, very easy to make and very cute.  Would make a great gift and the image is just too stinkin' cute!

The designer papers are from the Echo Park "A Gingerbread Christmas" 6x6 paper pad and I added some Nuvo Crystal drops in the colors Red and Green for sparkly accents.

Please stop by the blog and see what my team mates created; you may be inspired to create something other than a card.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Snowmen Selfie - Pammie's Inky Pinkies Challenge

Hello and Happy Monday!  Today begins a new challenge at Pammie's Inky Pinkies with the theme being Anything Goes.  Our sponsor this week is the talented SheepSki Designs.  For my design team project, I colored up the Snowmen Selfie image.  It is truly an adorable image and perfect for a Holiday or Winter themed project.

I chose to color the image in traditional Christmas colors.  The designer paper is from the Carta Bella "Merry Christmas" 6x6 paper pad.  I didn't add any embellishments to this project but did use a Sakura Gelly Roll Sparkle pen to hat brims here and there for an added bit of sparkle.  The sentiment is from a very old Hero Arts set.

Please join us this round at Pammie's.  We would love to see your creations and we hope to inspire you with ours.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Rustic Noel

Hello and Happy Sunday!  It's a rainy Sunday here in Central Florida, so what better day to craft and work on Holiday Cards and Tags.  Today's make and share features a Snowflake from Gina K. Designs, Rustic Designer papers and heat embossing.

This card measures 5.5" square, I stamped and using fine detail gold powder from Ranger, heat embossed a Snowflake from the Gina K. Designs Sparkle and Shine Stamp Set.  The sentiment is from the same set, which I stamped in Gina K's Red Velvet ink.  The papers are from The Paper Studio "Rustic Noel" 6x6 paper pad.  For finishing touches, I added Nuvo Crystal drops in Copper and Gold ribbon.

Have a wonderful day and until next time, Happy Crafting!

Ornamental Shaker Card

Hello and Happy Saturday!  I've had a lovely day at the Craft table and I hope you had the opportunity to do some Holiday crafting as well.  Today's make features elements from the Hero Arts October 2020 Monthly Card Kit, Silver Mirror Card, Glitter and Fine Eyelash Yarn.

I created a shaker card using the Ornament from the Hero Arts Kit.  I die cut the ornament using silver mirror card, die cut 2 Reindeer and put the shaker element together adding 2 types of fine glitter for the inside.  The designer papers are from the Doodlebug Designs "Winter Wonderland" 6x6 paper pad, the sentiment and tiny Reindeer are also from the Hero Arts kit, the fine eyelash yarn came from my stash (purchased from an Etsy Seller a few years ago).

I'm pleased with the results as Shaker Cards are definitely not my specialty.  I took an extra bit of time making sure to get every piece of the shaker element correct.  My husband said just the ornament would make a nice gift to include in Happy Mail; I'm not sure I have the patience to create more than 1 of these at a time.  It is pretty though and I like the non-traditional colors of the designer papers.

Thanks for visiting and until next time, Happy Crafting!

Hello and Happy Fri-YAY!  That means it's Friday's Freebie at Bugaboo Stamps.  This funny Stella image titled "Today's Menu" will be available today and yours for the taking!

Digital Stamps are so versatile; in this case the image isn't specifically for the Holidays however I made it a funny Christmas Card by my choice of colors, patterned papers and sentiment.  The papers are from the Carta Bella "Merry Christmas" 6x6 paper pad, I added the additional sentiment of Merry Christmas, which is from the Cardz TV "Mini Messages" Stamp set.

Please stop by and grab today's Friday Freebie.  I'm thinking of coloring an 8x10 of this digital image, framing it and hanging in my kitchen :)

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Christmas Stash Busting

Hello!  Today's make and share features stash busting and using what you got.  I have several 6x6 paper pads from past Christmas projects, going back a few years, and thought it was time to use up the paper pads.  I had just enough in an older Echo Park paper pad to create 6 Christmas cards.

The card out front is the one I would like to showcase today.  An easy make and to embellish, I added blue gems and a snowflake button.  The sentiment is from a stamp set I purchased at a Church Sale this past summer.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Hello and Happy Monday!  We are quickly approaching the holidays and I've been busy with Christmas Card making.  Today's make and share features foil, a die cut, designer paper and lots of Holiday Spirit!

I created a simple and quick card with papers from the Echo Park "Lumberjack Christmas" 6x6 paper pad, a Fa-La-La die cut from red foil paper and red sequins.  A super easy and festive card for the holidays.

I hope you were able to make progress on your holiday crafting this past weekend.  I'm going to try and work on cards again this week with another power session the weekend coming up.

Red and Gold Christmas

Good Sunday Morning to you.  Today's make and share is a Christmas card featuring die cuts, heat embossing and hot foil transfer.

I enjoyed the process of creating this card.  I die cut snowflakes and heat embossed Gold powder on them 3 separate times which gave them a thick, enamel like appearance.  I then heat foiled the sentiment using Gina K. Designs/Thermoweb Foil-Mates Holiday Cheer.  These are pre-printed ink toner sentiments that are run through a laminator.  The foil them adheres to the toner and you have a foiled area.  I found a couple packages of the Foil-Mates on eBay for a great price.

The papers are from the Memory Box "Christmas Plaid" and the Echo Park "A Gingerbread Christmas" 6x6 paper pads.  Lastly, I added  Gold Gems for that finishing touch.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Holiday Tapestry

Good Morning and Happy Saturday.  Today's make is another Tag Card featuring Gina K. Designs, Heat Embossing, Ink Blending and Designer Papers.

Black isn't a color usually associated with Christmas but I've noticed a trend of non-traditional holiday colors being used in decorating and crafting this year so I thought I would give it a go.

I stamped an image from the Gina K. Designs Holiday Tapestry Stamp set on a Tag dies cut that is from Gina K. Designs also, the heat embossed it using Simon Says Stamp White Sparkle powder.  You cannot see how sparkly the embossing is but it's lovely, perfect for a holiday card.  I ink blended over the stamping with Festive Berries Distress Oxide ink then added Nuvo Drops in White.

The background paper is from the Echo Park "My Favorite Christmas" 6x6 paper pad, the ribbon from my stash, the fancy circle die cut was given to me in a swap and the sentiment is from the Gina K. Designs Ornamental Snowflakes Stamp Set.

My Christmas card crafting is well underway.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Colour Crazy Challenge - Winter Snowflake

Hello and Happy Fri-YAY!  Today begins a new challenge at the Colour Crazy Challenge with our sponsor being Ching Chou Kuik.  I'm a Guest Designer at Colour Crazy for the forseeable so for my design team project, I had the pleasure of using Winter Snowflake for my card.

I've created an A2 sized Holiday card in non-traditional holiday colors.  I die cut a large panel for the background and die cut the focal image, which I popped up on foam pads.  I colored the image with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers, added Wink of Stella to her wings and placed some clear drops for additional interest.

We hope you'll join us this week at The Colour Crazy Challenge, we would love to see your projects and hope to inspire you with ours.

Until next time, Happy Crafting

Merry Christmas Gnome

Hello!  Today's make is a Card with a Tag on Top, featuring a Gnome, Foil, Glitter, Flock, Die Cuts and Stenciling.

To create my card, I started with the tag first.  I used the Gina K. Designs and Thermo Web "Gnome for the Holidays" Stamp and Stencil Kit.  This kit was a collaboration between Thermo Web and Gina K. Designs and includes Foils, Stamps Stencils and Dies.

The designer papers are a mixture of scrap and a large panel from the Memory Box "Christmas Plaid 6x6 paper pad, the Gnome beard is White Flocking, the baubles in the trees are die cut from red foil and the starry background is Cosmic Shimmer Sparkle Texture paste over a stencil.

For a final touch, I added a bit of ribbon, attaching it to the tag with my Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher and covering the staple with the sentiment strip.

Christmas crafting has begun and if I stay on track, I won't be pulling my hair out come December 15th...the day I give myself to have all cards in the mail.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Christmas Joy

Hello and Happy Wednesday, the week is half spent and the weekend is in sight!  I've started Holiday crafting and wanted to quickly share my 1st Christmas Card for 2020.  I used the Simon Says Stamp Prismatic Snowflakes Stamp Set, Heat Embossing and Die Cuts to create my card.

I created my own background of snowflakes; heat embossing them with blue embossing powder.  I stamped a snowflake as a focal image and heat embossed it with white powder.  I inked the background of the fancy circle with Distress Oxide Inks in various shades of blues, used Alphabet dies to cut the work Joy which I covered in Glossy Accents.  Lastly, added ribbon and a bow to complete the card.

Christmas is my favorite crafty time of year and my favorite holiday of all.  Have you started your Holiday card making yet?  I always try to get a head start but usually fall behind sometime around our Thanksgiving holiday.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Pammie's Inky Pinkies - Anything Goes

Hello and Happy Monday!  I hope everyone is well and had a wonderful weekend.  Today begins a new challenge at Pammie's Inky Pinkies with the challenge theme being Anything Goes.  Our generous sponsor this week is Bugaboo Stamps and it's always a pleasure working with their images.

For my design team project, I used the clever Ruby Thanksgiving which is part of Bugaboo's Monthly Calendar of images.  This image represents the month of November and I'm still finishing up Autumn and Thanksgiving cards, so I couldn't resist using this image.

My Ruby is a Southern Lady; she reminds me of my momma when the Bouffant hair-do's were popular.  My momma went to the Beauty Parlor every Friday and came home with her hair stiff with hair spray and piled up HIGH!

I created the sentiment in my Word Processing Program as I didn't have one with the "y'all" and that was a must for my Southern Ruby!  The DSP is from the Echo Park "Celebrate Autumn" 6x6 paper pad.  I colored the image with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers and added some sequins for sparkle.  What type of Pie do you think she has made?  If it were my momma, it would be Apple.....Hot Apple Pie with a big scoop of French Vanilla Ice Cream on top!

Please visit us at Pammie's Inky Pinkies this week and play along with us in the challenge.  We would love to see your creations.  Until Next time, Happy Crafting Y'all!

Slimline Foil Transfer

Good Sunday Morning to You!  I have a quick post today sharing a slimline card I created that's fairly simple in design using foil transfer.

This card was created using Deco Foil Duo Transfer Gel and the Deco Foil Autumn Watercolor Foil. To adhere the foil, I used my laminator but with the Duo Gel, heat in not required.  You can achieve the same result using your die cutting machine.  The sentiment is from the Gina K. Designs Zen Flowers Stamp Set.  I did stencil very lightly on the sentiment strip and inked around the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.

I hope you have a wonderful day.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Hello and Happy Wednesday!  Today begins a new challenge month at The Paper Funday Challenges with our sponsor being the fun and fabulous Bugaboo Stamps.  The theme at Paper Funday is Anything Goes with an Optional Twist of Give Thanks/Grateful/Thankful.

For my design team project, I used the Scarecrow Autumn Leaves Digital Image with Designer papers from the Carta Bella "Fall Market" 6x6 paper pad.

I colored the image with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers and fussy cut.  The sentiment is from a tag pack that matches the paper pad, I die cut a focal panel for the center, added ribbon, gems and called this card complete.

We hope you'll join us this month at The Paper Funday Challenges.  We would love to see your creations and we hope to inspire you with ours. Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Season of Gratitude

Hello, Happy Sunday and the 1st day of November 2020.  For those who changed the time back 1 hour for Daylight Savings Time, I hope you feel good with that extra hour of sleep.  Today's make and share is a Autumn card using a non traditional color scheme.

I created my own background by stamping, heat embossing and distress oxide ink blending .  The stamped images and sentiment are from the Gina K. Designs Zen Flowers stamp set.  I used the coordinating dies to cut out a flower and leaves for the focal panel.  I stenciled the focal panel and stamped the sentiment for a completed card.

Thanks for visiting and have a pleasant week ahead!  Until net time, Happy Crafting!
