Masculine Birthday Greetings

Hello and Happy Sunday.  Today is a quick make and share featuring an older Stampin' Up image and sentiment from the Wetlands Set.

I used an ink smooshing technqiue but adding color to a long, rectangular stamping block with Arteza Real Brush Markers and spritzing with water.  Then "stamping" on the card, I got an organic feeling color scheme.  I let dry and stamped the image and sentiment over the color.  This is my take on a masculine card, I don't make many and this is the only one I currently have in my stash.....that is sad indeed.  I must set out to create more masculine cards!

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Song in Your Heart

Hello and Happy Saturday!  Today's make and share is my take on a CAS card.  I love color so I couldn't resist trying a smooshing technique using stamping blocks.

I was inspired by a Gina K. Designs You Tube video where she used water based markers and stamping blocks to create organic backgrounds.  I used Arteza Real Brush Markers to ink up color onto a round stamping block, spritzed with water and "stamped" onto 110 lb. card.  The image and sentiment are from an older Close to My Heart set that may now be retired, I purcahsed this set from a Flea Market some years ago.

The only bells and whistles used were 3 enamel dots.  This is my CAS style; usually I am creating with lots of papers, elements, bells and whistles.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Bee-youtiful Day Shaker Card

Hello and Happy Fri-YAY!  It's the weekend and I'm looking forward to some crafting, outdoor and resting time.  Today I would like to share a shaker card created using the Beautiful Bees stamp set designed by Melanie Muenchinger for Gina K. Designs.

I created this Shaker Card for a Swap with a friend from the U.K.  Each month we swap and to make it interesting, we may pick a theme or fancy fold.  For March, we decided on Bees and to make it a little challenging, we added Shaker Card.

This card measures 5.5" square, the Bees were stamped and die cut then colored with Fossilized Amber Distress Ink just by dabbing the ink on them.  The Flower in the center is also from the stamp set which I heat embossed and colored using the Ink Resist method and Rustic Wilderness Distress Ink.  I dry embossed the panel behind the flower using a brick wall embossing folder so this card has lots of texture and dimension going on.

I wanted to include some green as I also had St. Patrick's Day in mind along with Spring.  I met the challenge we set forth and I cannot wait to get this in the Post to her on 01 March!

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Sending You a Little Note

Hello and Happy Thursday!  I hope your week is going great, the weekend is in sight.  Today's make and share features die cuts and a few elements from the Spellbinders "Let Your Heart Soar" Card Kit.

The card kit contained chipboard frames, dimensional embellishments, a pretty 6x6 paper pad and a nice stamp set with lovely sentiments. I created a Friendship card using elements from the kit and items from my stash.  For a final touch, I added Nuvo Crystal Drops in Black and Gold Sequins.

A quick make that's ready to be filed in my "Go-To" card stash for when it's needed.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Believe You Can Shaker Card

Good Tuesday to You!  Today's post is a quick one sharing a card made using elements from the Spellbinders February 2021 "Let Your Heart Soar" Card Kit.

I used elements in the kit to create a Shaker card.  I added Glossy Accents to the hearts and middle of the flowers along with a Twine bow to the tag.

Sometimes, when I'm feeling creative but short on time, I reach for a card kit.  This allows me to be creative with layouts and element placement without all the time it normally takes me to create a card.  I'm a slow card maker...especially when coloring.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Happy Gnome Patrick's Day

Hello and Happy Monday!  I hope your weekend was relaxing, and if you have been affected by the Winter's Storms, I do hope you are safe, warm and well.

Today's post features a cute St. Patrick's Day Gnome, die cutting, heat embossing, stenciling, ink blending and hand coloring.

This A2 sized card was inspired by a Gina K. Designs You Tube video.  The background panel was stamped with the Gina K. Music Medley background stamp and heat embossed with white powder.  Using a stencil, I blended Gina K. inks over the panel to reveal areas of embossing.  The focal image and scalloped border were die cut and mounted on foam pads.  A ribbon, bow and gems added to complete the look.

He's a cutie patootie whose handong out shamrocks.  This was fun to create and I do like how it came together.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Tiddly Inks Good Luck Chloe

Hello and Happy Sunday!  I hope you are having a great day so far, staying warm and safe.  I've started creating for St. Patrick's Day so today's make features an adorable themed image, coloring and embossing.

I started with a background panel that was embossed with a Shamrocks Embossing Folder and colored using Distress Inks in greens, yellows and water.  The image is Good Luck Chloe from Tiddly Inks and I've had this image for a few years.  I couldn't find within the Tiddly Inks Etsy Shoppe so I'm not certain but it may be retired.

I colored the image with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Inks, die cut the focal, matted and popped on foam pads.  Stamped the sentiment; which is from an older Hero Arts set, on a tag and accented the piece with sequins and Baker's Twine.  All Done!

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Hello and Happy Saturday!  Today begins a new weekly challenge at Bugaboo Stamps Catch the Bug Challenge Blog.  The theme this week is B-I-N-G-O and I've used the Make It Snappy - Thanks a Bunch digital image for my design team project.

I've Bingo'd once with Buttons, Bugaboo Image and Flowers.  The designer series papers are from a Color Box 6x6 paper pad, the buttons from my stash and I've colored the image with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers.  For a finishing touch, I've applied Nuvo Clear Crystal drops on the flower centers and dotted around the image.

Please join us this week for the challenge.  It's always fun with lots of inspiration.  Hope to see you there!  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Colour Crazy Challenge - Dr. Digi House of Stamps

Hello and Happy Fri-YAY!  Today begins a new challenge at Colour Crazy Challenge with the theme being Anything Goes.  The sponsor this round is the fun Dr. Digi House of Stamps and I had a great time coloring up the World's Best Dad digi image to create a Father's Day card for the hubby.

I created a slimline card that measures 8"x 4.25".  I colored the image with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers and the designer papers are a freebie set from the Cardmaking and Papercraft Magazine.  I generated the additional "Thanks for being Awesome" sentiment on the computer and the only bells and whistles added were a bit of Gelly Roll Sparkle pen here and there.

Please join us at Colour Crazy Challenge this week, we would love to have you and we hope to inspire you with our projects.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

You Are Beautiful

Hello and Happy Tuesday!  Todays make features a beautiful Sunflower and Ink Blending created with all those suffering with the unbearable cold, snow storms and loss of power this winter in mind.

Sunflowers are my favorite Summer and Fall flowers, I usually plant them twice a year.  I created this card with an ink blended background panel; using Fun Stampers Journey and Distress Oxide Inks in the colors Lemon Drop, Limeade Splash, Orange Rave and Mowed Lawn.  The stamps are from the Fun Stampers Journey "Hello Sunflower" Stamp Set.

To complete the card, I added two pieces of scrap designer series paper to the left side along with a strand of Journey Gift Twine (it has a gold thread running through it) and some mini pearls.  I also added the black dots around the flower, those are not part of the stamp.

Have a Great Day, Stay Warm and Safe.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Pammie's Inky Pinkies - Anything Goes

Hello and Happy Monday!  Here we are, the start of a new week and the start of a new challenge at Pammie's Inky Pinkies.  The theme this week is Anything Goes with the fun sponsor Bugaboo Stamps offering up a generous prize.

For my design team project, I couldn't resist using Snarky Stella to create a Spring Time Card.  Here she is with another jewel of a snarky sentiment:

The image is the Stella Summer Blocks - I Told You So, which reminds me of myself...I'm total rubbish at gardening and living in Florida makes it even harder because everything dries and wilts very quickly in the Hot Sun.

The card measures 5.5" square and I've kept the design simple, adding Nuvo Crystal Drops in the color Carnation Pink and Glossy Accents on her glass lenses.  Coloring was done with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers, the designer papers are from the Crate Paper "Cute Girl" 6x6 paper pad.

Please join us at Pammie's this week for fun and inspiration.  Hope to see you there.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Sweet & Simple Stash Busting Day #8

Hello and Happy Valentine's Day!  I hope you had a wonderful day with your loved ones, enjoyed a nice meal and had a piece of Chocolate!  Today is the final day of my Sweet & Simple Stash Busting series.  I had a great time creating Valentine's cards for my family and friends using only items from my stash.  My stash is a bit lighter but I still have quite a lot to use up so I may have another week of stash busting and sharing next month.

My card today started out with a white embossed background panel to which I added distress ink splatters, die cuts, scrap pieces of designer papers, a one word stamped sentiment, ribbon and card candy.

I hope I've inspired you to go shopping in your stash and create some projects.  It was a fun exercise in creating clusters and using my imagination.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Sweet & Simple Stash Busting Day #7

Hello and Happy Saturday!  I'm back again with another stash busting project.  I created this card for a swap partner and at the time of this post, I'm hoping she has received as Valentine's Day is tomorrow.

This A2 sized card started with an embossed panel (I like to add texture to a plain white piece of card) that I splattered with Candied Apple and Picked Raspberry Distress Inks mixed with water.  I used die cuts, a scrap of mirror card, a piece of ribbon that's been in my stash for 2+ years, heart gems I found tucked in a drawer and a chipboard flower.  No extra bells and whistles were added as the gold glitter heart dies cut seemed to be enough.

That's all for today!  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Sweet & Simple Stash Busting Day #6

Hello and Happy Fri-YAY!  It's late evening at the time of this post as the day got away from me.  Had a much needed pedicure and a fab lunch with the Hubby.  I did want to pop on and share the stash busting day #6 project which is another Valentine's Day card or any occasion card created with items from entirely my stash.  I created the background using the smooshing technique with Distress Inks and water.

I created a cluster using die cuts, designer paper scraps, baker's twine and sequins.  I enjoyed putting this one together and my stash is a bit lighter.  I hope you've been inspired to create from your stash.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Bugaboo's Humor Me Wednesday: Gus' Golden Years

Hello and Happy Wednesday which means it's Humor Me Wednesday at Bugaboo's Catch the Bug Challenge Blog.  For my design team project, I created a Birthday card using the Gus Birthday Golden Years digi stamp.

I addition to Humor Me Wednesday, this card also celebrates "No One Eats Alone Day" which is February 12th.  Gus has a large cake so I'm sure he will share with his friends so he won't have to eat alone!

My card measures 5.5" square and the designer papers are from the Simple Stories "Let's Party" 12x12 paper pad.  I kept the card design simple, only adding some doodling and sequins.

Please visit us at Catch the Bug for some Humorous inspiration and don't forget to enter your makes in the Weekly Challenge every Saturday.  This week the theme is Anything Goes.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Sweet & Simple Stash Busting Day #4

Hello and Happy Tuesday!  I hope your day was terrific as it's almost bedtime for me but I wanted to post another Stash Busting Project.

For this A2 card, I embossed a white panel with the Swiss Dots embossing folder and created my own background by splattering with Picked Raspberry, Candied Apple and Aged Mahogany Distress Inks mixed with water.  All other elements are from my stash; the dimensional elements, paper doily, designer paper scraps and sequins.  This was a fun and quick make.  It's another Valentine's Day card for a swap partner.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Sweet & Simple Stash Busting Day #3

Hello and Happy Monday!  Today is a quick share of another Stash Busting Project.  I've used all items from my stash and created the background using the Smooshing Technqiue with Picked Raspberry, Candied Apple and Worn Lipstick Distress inks and water.

I created this one with a particular friend in mind who is dealing with health issues and feels especially isolated due to COVID.  I want her to know she's in my heart and on my mind, not just on Valentine's Day but everyday.

Sweet & Simple Stash Busting Day #2

Hello and Happy Super Bowl Sunday!  The Game really doesn't mean a whole lot to me other than it's being played in Tampa Bay Florida this year and I'm a Floridian.  While the Hubs is watching the game, I will retreat to my crafty space and have some uninterrupted time at the crafting table.

Today is the second day of my Sweet and Simple Stash Busting makes.  Today features an A2 card with an embossed backround that I splattered with Picked Raspberry Distress Ink mixed with water.  I used Dollar Tree embellies, a die cut heart, Baker's Twine and sequins..all from my stash.

Another Valentine's Card for 2021 however this card could be used for any theme or occasion.  Feels good to use stash items.  Do you have plans to dip into your stash soon?  I hope I've inspired you to so so.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Sweet and Simple Stash Busting Day #1

Hello and Happy Saturday!  I hope you and yours are well and staying healthy.  Today will begin a series of Sweet and Simple Stash Busting projects I've created using..yes..you guessed it..only items from my stash.  I have created the backgrounds and used embellishments to create 8 different cards.  I've created them specifically for St. Valentine's Day however they could be used for any occasion.

Today's project is Day #1, featuring an A2 sized card using Dollar Tree embellies, an ink smooshed background created with Picked Raspberry, Aged Maghony and Worn Lipstick Distress Inks along with a ribbon I've had in my stash for ages...and ages being over 2 years...untouched (can you believe that?).  .

I LOVE to buy all the latest and greatest (I need to stay off You Tube) but I NEED to use what's in my stash.  My craft area is starting to become overwhelming and when I find something I haven't opened in 2 years...that is my sign I need to stop buying and start using!

Do you have a huge stash?  If my husband actually knew how much I have, he would just shake his head...but he rarely comes in my craft room and when he does, it's only to tell me something or ask if we have something (must be easier than looking for it...bless him).

I hope I inspire you to stash bust.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Triple Heart Easel Card

Hello and Happy Thursday!  The first week of February 2021 is almost history and with 6 more weeks of Winter (so says Puxatawney Phil the Ground Hog), what a better way to spend the day than to make a Triple Heart Easel Card.

Although it may look complicated, it's an easy make with a heart template, dies and pretty paper.
To make the bases, I used 3 different sized heart templates; each size different by 1/2".  I folded patterned card and traced the templates leaving the tops of the hearts flat; hanging the curved tops of the hearts over the fold.  I then die cut stacking hearts for embellishing.

Adhering each base to one another, I created each into an easel and decorated with dies cuts, ribbon and tiny heart punches. The sentiment is from the Cardz TV "Mini Messages" stamp set.

I'm in full St. Valentine's Day crafting mode.  I hope my swap recipients receive in time for Valentine's DAy....my Christmas cards were so delayed...some are just now receiving...and it's February.  I hope this year, holiday mail will move faster.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Paper Funday Challenge - February 2021

Hello and Happy Wednesday!  Today starts a new monthly challenge at The Paper Funday Challenges.  The theme this month is Anything Goes with Optional Twist of:  Love is in the Air and we have two wonderful sponsors:  Sherri Baldy's Besties and Hetty Clare.

For my design team project, I created a Valentine's Day card for a swap partner using a new Fluffy Besties image that I thought was perfect for such an occasion.

I've colored the image using Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers, designer papers from the Recollections "Love and Devotion" 12x12 paper pad and sentiment from the Cardz TV "Mini Messages" stamp set.  I followed Sketch #30 from Cardz TV Free Sketches and popped up the small left panel and focal image using foam pads.  Finally, the only bells and whistles used was  a bit of Wink of Stella on the hair band, the chocolate box ribbon, her lips and earrings.

Please join us this month for the challenge at The Paper Funday.  We hope to inspire you with our team projects and cannot wait to see what you've created using the Anything Goes with Optional Twist theme.

Whale of a Tale at Pammie's Inky Pinkies

Hello and Happy Monday!  Wow...it's the 1st day of February...where did January go?  My mother used to say "the older you get, the faster time flies".....now that's the truth.

Today starts a new challenge at Pammie's Inky Pinkies with a theme of Anything Goes.  The sponsor this round is the sweet and talented Star Stampz.  For my design team project, I had the pleasure of creating a sweet Friendship card using the cute Whale of a Tale digital image.

I used 2 small lace panel die cuts to edge the card and a circle die to cut out the focal image.  The blue striped paper is from my scrap bin; I believe it's from a 12x12 Nautical themed paper pad that was used in making a mini album.  I added Wink of Stella to her headband and bow along with blue faux gems.  The sentiment was computer generated by me, printed and trimmed to fit.

Please join us this week at Pammie's Inky Pinkie Challenges, we hope to inspire you with our projects and would love to see yours.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!
