Happy Birthday Snippets

Hello Friends and Happy Sunday!  It's a relaxing day here, I hope your Sunday is the same.  I found myself in need of a birthday card, very last minute.  There was no time for stamping or coloring so I took some patterned paper snippets and created this quick and easy card.

To start, I've cut squares of patterned paper and mats, adhered together and then to a white panel.  Using the We-R-Memory Keepers Corner Chomper, I rounded two opposite sides of the squares.  The Birthday die cut and stamped word are from a Crafter's Companion Set.

No bells or whistles have been added, it was truly a quick, easy and somewhat CAS design.  It took me all of 15 minutes to create and a wonderful way to use up patterned paper snippets.

That's all for today friends, until next time - Happy Crafting!

Bitty Blossoms

Hello Friends and Happy Sunday!  I hope your weekend has been enjoyable and you've had the opportunity to do something you love.  I have a quick share today featuring the Bitty Blossoms Mini Stamp set from Gina K. Designs.

I've kept the design very simple, by my standards anyway.  I have a problem with CAS - I'm not very good at keeping things simple.

I've colored the image using Prismacolor Pencils and lightly blended Bundled Sage Distress Oxide ink as a "ground" for the flower bunch.

The image and sentiment have been heat embossed with fine detail embossing powder and for an extra bit of interest and shine, I added mini water droplets to complete the design.

I hope you have a beautiful Sunday filled with Sunshine!  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Countdown to Christmas 3 - Scrappy Trees

Hello Crafty Friends and Happy Wednesday!  The Big Day will be here soon and today I'm sharing another card that uses scraps of patterned paper and a simple geometric shape.  This card could be easily created and mass produced.

All you need for this card are 3 scraps of patterned paper that measure 2" x 4".  Your snippets could be bigger and you could use more, depending on the size of your card.  My card measures the standard US 4.25" x 5.5".

Fold your scraps in half and trim from one corner to the next, at an angle to create a Triangle.  Unfold and viola!  You have a Tree.

To create dimension on your card, apply liquid adhesive on the middle fold and place on your card base or panel; in my case, I've adhered to a 4" x 5.25" panel.  Because the adhesive is only on the middle fold, the sides of the trees and be lifted.

Because no self respecting Christmas Card of mine would be complete without a bit of bling, I've heat embossed tiny stars at the tree tops and added dabs of Gold Stickles to mimic snowfall.  This card design would also look lovely in Winter Blues for a wintery card, so it's versatile too.

I did not want to take away from the trees so I've opted to stamp my Christmas sentiment inside.  That's all it takes, some pretty snippets of paper that I know you have tucked away in your craft space.

Thanks for visiting and until next time, Happy Crafting!

Countdown to Christmas - Buffalo Plaid Star

Hi Friends and Happy Thursday!  Today is a quick share featuring one of my CAS Christmas Cards and one I think could be easily mass produced.  It's a countdown to Christmas at my craft table and this style is perfect when you're running short of time.

As I've mentioned before, the CAS style really isn't my "go-to".  I like color and pattern too much but I'll admit this design does appeal to me.  I was inspired by Positively Papercraft by Ann.  She has a You Tube Channel and I love watching her.

This card was so quick and easy.  I die cut a star from Buffalo Plaid patterned paper and silver mirror card.  Layered them, popping the plaid star on foam.  I then stamped and heat embossed the sentiment with fine detail silver powder, backed the focal panel with more mirror card, added silver gems and called this card complete.

I like this so much, I'm going to do something a bit different...still CAS but in Gold.  Thanks for visiting today.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Sweetheart Florals from Varada Sharma Designs

Hello Friends and Happy Thursday!  Today I'm sharing a card created with the lovely Sweetheart Floral Digital Stamp from Varada Sharma Designs.  This set contains one large floral image and 9 mix and match sentiments.

I've kept the design CAS and colored the image using Staedtler Watercolor Pencils.  I forget I have these pencils in my stash and it was nice to use them again.  The image was printed on Canson Mixed Media paper to handle the water.

I've cut the focal panel using a stitched rectangle die from Kat Scrappiness, the sentiment has been cut with a nesting circle die, also from Kat Scrappiness.  The "Hello" is included in this digi set.  The focal panel and sentiment were backed with black card, the sentiment was popped on craft foam and all were adhered to a card base of 110 lb. Neenah Classic Crest Solar White card.

To finish, I've added nest of gold thread behind the sentiment and a few iridescent gold sequins for added interest and shine.

Thanks for visiting me today and until net time, Happy Crafting!

Make Art

Hello Crafty Friends and Happy Sunday!  Today is a quick share featuring the new to my craft stash Colorado Craft Company Set titled Make Art.  The Anita Jerum images are precious and I'm a huge fan.

I've kep the design CAS, allowing the artistic mice to take center stage.  They are quite the Artists!

I've colored the scene with alcohol markers and matted the focal panel.  Wink of Stella has been added to the flowers but it's always hard to see in photos.

That's all from me today.  Now I'm off to have a pedicure, go to the grocery for tomorrow's holiday meal and then home for a swim..barring rain doesn't spoil it for me.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Butterfly Kisses

Hello and Happy Sunday!  I have a CAS card design to share that was quick and easy to create.  I don't do CAS very often but I do get the urge to create something sweet and simple from time to time.

Using the Butterfly2Build Stamp Set from The Stamps of Life, I've stamped layered a Butterfly using 2 complimentary shades of Catherine Pooler Inks.  The color Serene reminds of the Pantone Color of the Year 2022:  Very Peri.

The sentiment is from the same set as well as the dotted flight trail.  I matted with black card and adhered to a cardbase of 110 lb. Neenah Solar White Classic Crest card.

As a finishing touch, I've added Kat Scrappiness Enamel Dots from the Shades of Teal pack...and that's it...a sweet and simple card for your Sunday.

Thanks for the visit, until next time - Happy Crafting!

Have a Lovely Day

Hello and Happy Tuesday!  Today's make and share is a quick one featuring a stamped image from the stamp set included in the Spellbinders Card Kit of the Month for April 2021.  The kit is titled Sincerely Yours and contains lots of great die cuts, ephemera, dies, cardstock, sequins, foam pads, double sided tape and a stamp set.

I wanted to keep the design fairly CAS so I stamped the image and colored very basically with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers.  I then Die Cut with a small postage stamp die and mounted the image on foam pads.  I layed down some washi tape from my stash, stamped the sentiment and cut with a circle die, adhered to a piece of torn vellum.  Using my Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher, added some mini staples, popped on foam pads and added to the card with sequins for shine.  Finishing up, I mounted the entire panel on double sided fun foam and placed on the card base.

Until Next Time, Happy Crafting!

Rainbow Butterfly

Hello and Happy Tuesday!  The day has gotten away from me so before it gets much later, I would like to share a Clean and Simple card featuring die cutting, Die Cut Inlay, Ink blending, Stamping and Heat Embossing.

I die cut a butterfly shaped aperture in a piece of card to use as my top layer.  I ink blended a rainbow on the card base in the area behind the aperture then inlaid the butterly in the space; I left the wings free for dimension.  The sentiment, from a set by Cardz TV, was stamped and heat embossed.

For the final touched, added sequins in rainbow order cascading down the front and Fun Stampers Journey Crystal Cuts on the tips of the butterfly wings.

Until Next Time, Happy Crafting!

Everyday Is An Adventure

Hello and Happy Monday!  I'm back with another make and share for today; an A2 sized card that features a big sentiment and is basically a Clean and Simple Design.  CAS isn't my typical style as I like to use lots of Designer Series Paper, layers and color up digi stamps however I'm trying to broaden my styles to embrace all sorts.

I started by inking just the center section of a card panel by taking a scrap piece of card and tearing it on 2 sides to get rugged edges.  I inked the middle portion of the card with a combination of Distress Oxide Inks in the colors Speckled Egg and Bundled Sage.

After the ink blend dried, I chose some botanical stamps from my stash and a sentiment stamp from Kelly Creates; leaving the images colorless except for the middle of the flower, which I glued Peacock Glitter from Recollections using a Quickie Glue Pen (my "go to" for adhering loose glitter in small areas).  For the final touch, added flat back pearls and mounted on on a light blue mat.

I enjoyed making this simple design and look forward to creating another.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Make My Monday - Make It Krafty

It's Monday again and it's time for a new challenge at Make My Monday challenge blog.  The theme this week is Make It Krafty (using kraft colored card).

For my design team project, I used a versatile stamp set I recently received from Maymay Made It named Sittin Tree.  I kept it pretty CAS, using kraft card and just 3 colors:  brown, green and black.
I love the tire swing..makes me wish I had one now!

We invite you to join us this week at Make My Monday.  I would like to also invite you to visit the new challenge blog The Paper Funday Challenges, the theme for the month of February is Love.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Clean and Simple Christmas

Hello and Happy Tuesday!  Christmas is creeping closer and I'm still creating Christmas Cards, I should be completely finished by Christmas :)

I've created what I feel is a CAS Christmas Card, using only a die cut along with glitter and mirror card.  I die cut the tree image from the glitter card and again from the silver mirror card, then inlaid the mirror card into the space.  I really like how this one turned out, I love the look of blue and silver at Christmas time!

I hope you've been inspired today.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!
