Happy Birthday Watercolor Roses

Hi Crafty Friends!  Today's mini slimline card features Watercolor Roses from Hot Off the Press/Paper Wishes and watercoloring using Gansai Tambi watercolor paints.

To start, I stamped and heat embossed the image on Canson multi media paper primarily because it's thinner than watercolor paper, can take the water and is lighter in color.  Also, this stamp set is silicone and not photopolymer so I was pleasantly pleased at how well it stamped.  My experience with most silicone stamps are they do not stamp well, spread out with pressure and the image is not crisp.  This stamp was non of that.

I've painted the image and background with Gansai Tambi watercolors, stamped and heat embossed the sentiment adhering to the card panel with craft foam.  The panel and mat are adhered to a 110 lb. card base of Neenah Solar White Classic Crest card.

Lastly, I've added splattered of Gold paint, White Acrylic Gloss Spray and Ivory Pearl Mix Gems from Kat Scrappiness.  While creating the card, the Yellow Rose of Texas tune kept popping in my head.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Don't Make It Complicated

Greetings and Salutations My Crafty Friends and Happy Tuesday!  Today's Card of the Day is a Clean and Simple Design featuring Rose Blooms and Buds, double stamping and embossing.

I started my card by stamping the images from the Altenew Life is Beautiful Stamp Set.  I decided to stamp with colored inks and come back around to stamp the outline over top using Catherine Pooler inks and Versafine Onyx Black.  I embossed a panel with the Cuttlebug Mosiac Embossing Folder and arranged the Floral Bouquet and Vase in the lower corner.  The sentiment is from the same Altenew set and to finish, I've added Black Faux Gems.

Thanks for stopping by; until next time. Happy Crafting!

Thanks Ever So Much

Hello and Happy Saturday!  Today was a rainy day here in Central Florida so I spent the day in the craft room and re-discovered a technique that I had forgotten about.....Stenciling on Vellum.

This Sweet and Simple card started with stenciling on a piece of vellum.  I die cut a frame and placed the stenciled image against a piece of white card and adhered the frame around the image.  Mounted the stamped sentiment on foam pads and added irridescent sequins as a finishing touch.

The stencil and sentiment are from a box of crafty goodies I purchased at a Church Bizarre so they are unbranded...or at least to me as they do not have the original packaging.  I used Distress Oxide inks to stencil and thoroughly allowed to dry so no smudging would occur when I placed ink side down.

I like the soft look of this piece and I will try this technique again soon.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Everything's Rosy

Hello and Happy Saturday...it's been raining for 2 days here with rain predicted for the next 7!  What better way to spend a rainy Saturday than at the Craft table with a beautiful image and some Alcohol Markers.

Today I'm sharing a Swap Buddy card created using Power Poppy's Everything's Rosy Digital Stamp Set.

This card measures 5" square and simply matted with minimal accents; Nuvo Drops and a bit of Gelly Roll Glitter pen.  I started with 2 colors of green for the leaves but didn't like it so I switched to a green palette with some yellow tint and I like it much better.  The focal image is stunning and enough for this card along with a nice sentiment which is included in the collection.

I hope you are having a great day and getting some time to yourself.  I'm off to cook supper for the family - the work is never done around here but at least I got some time to myself today.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!
