Let's Play with Circles

Hello and Happy Tuesday!  The last Tuesday of the month...wow, I know February is a short month but this time it flew by faster than years' past.  I have a quick share today using a geometric shape and ink blending.

I was inspired by a video short I saw by Ardyth Percy-Robb, who is the Queen of ink blending and geometric shape designs.  For this simple design, all you need are circles, which I've die cut, and  shades of each color.

After ink blending the circles, I've embossed them and adhered flat to the card base with a thick strip of black card as a backdrop.  I've splattered everything with gold and white paint, added silver sequins and popped the sentiment strip on craft foam.  That's it...easy peasy and so effective.

Have a fabulous day and until next time, Happy Crafting!

Instagram Cardmakers Discovery Hop - February 2023

Happy Lazy Sunday Friends!  I hope you are well (and warm) and have a lovely day planned.  Today is the last Sunday of the month and that signals a new Discovery Hop on Instagram.  The premise of the Hop is to dig into your stash and use what you have on hand to create something based on the theme.  The theme this Hop is Spring/Florals.  This is a Just for Fun Hop, providing inspiration to "Shop Your Stash".

I dug around in my rather large stash of Floral sets and found the Lace Flowers Stamp and Coordinating Die Set from Gina K. Designs.  I'd forgotten about this set with it's Zen-like flowers.  I love the bold lines of the images.

I've colored the images using Prismacolor Pencils and die cut with the coordinating dies.  I did my own embossing on the panel, meaning I scored the top half of the panel using a bone folder and score board.  The bottom half of the panel was left untouched so I could stamp the sentiment, which is included in this set.

The smaller flower has been popped on foam pads for dimension and to finish the design, I've added blue gems and white dots using a Posca Paint Pen.

You can start Hopping along HERE.  I hope you'll stop in and have a look at all the different styles and products everyone has shopped from their stashes.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

What's the Buzz?

Hello and Happy Friday!  It's been a crafty day for me and I thought I would jump on and quickly share this fun little Bee Fairy with you.

This image is from Mo's Digital Pencil, I love Mo Manning images and she has so many different styles that there's something for everyone.  I thought this Bee Fairy was adorable and you can find her HERE.  The sentiment is from the Buggy Love Stamp Set by Maymay Made It.

I've colored the image using my Prismacolor Pencils, die cut the focal and card panel and keeping with the Honey Bee theme, I did some stenciling in the background.  Lastly, I've added yellow gems from Kat Scrappiness to finish the design.

Thanks for visiting today, have a fantastic weekend.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

A Little Note from my Gnomie

Hello and Happy Thursday Friends!  I have a quick share for you today featuring another one of Laurie Furnell Designs Gnomes from her Spring Collection.  When I purchased these images, they were available as line art but it seems she only offers them pre-colored now.  Out of curiosity, I've written to her so I will keep you posted.

**edited:  I've heard back from Laurie and she has a separate shop for her b/w line art:
Laurie Furnell Ink on Etsy

A friend commissioned a set of Gnome cards and this card was one in the set.  I've colored him using Prismacolor Pencils, which I enjoy using, possibly more than my alcohol markers.

The polkadot paper is a snippet from the stash, it may be from Kat Scrappiness.  The sentiment is from the Whimsical Forest Card Kit from Spellbinders and the sequins are from the stash.

This little guy and his feathered friend were a fun color.  Thanks for visiting today and until next time, Happy Crafting!

Sending You Sunshine

Good Morning Friends and Welcome to Tuesday!  I have a quick share for you today featuring the Sending Sunshine Stamp and Coordinating Die Set from Trinity Stamps.

I've had this set since Spring of 2021 and this is the first time I've stamped it.  I'm continuing with my resolution to "Shop My Stash".  This is a cute little stamp set, I like the cartoonish way the art is drawn and it's an easy color.  I've colored using Prismacolor Pencils.

The focal image has been popped on craft foam for dimension and yellow gems from Kat Scrappiness added to sparkle.  The patterned paper are snippets from my stash.

I hope you have a wonderful day.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Peony Blooms

Happy Monday!  Wow, the weekend flew by...I hope yours was enjoyable.  Before I get to my project, I wanted to send good thoughts, love, hugs and prayers for all those affected by the Chemical Spill in Ohio, Cyclone and Flooding in New Zealand and Earthquakes in Syria/Turkey.

Today is the mid-month inspiration post for the Jan's Digi Stamps Challenge.  Jan has released 3 new sets this month:  Peony Bloom, Let's Go Fly a Kite and Lil Chick-A-Dees.  Also, there is a huge Easter Sale, all Easter Digi Sets on Sale for the month of February.

My project today features the Peony Bloom digi set.

I have a Peony Bush in my garden that produces the largest, soft pink blooms so that was my inspiration for this CAS design.  I've taken both images from the set and colored using Prismacolor Pencils.

The card measures 5.5" square and sequins have been added as a final touch.  The sentiment is also from the digital set and it's quite appropriate for this time of year; a nice reminder that Spring will come...eventually.

I hope to see you at the Jan's Digi Stamps Challenge this month.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Bitty Blossoms

Hello Friends and Happy Sunday!  I hope your weekend has been enjoyable and you've had the opportunity to do something you love.  I have a quick share today featuring the Bitty Blossoms Mini Stamp set from Gina K. Designs.

I've kept the design very simple, by my standards anyway.  I have a problem with CAS - I'm not very good at keeping things simple.

I've colored the image using Prismacolor Pencils and lightly blended Bundled Sage Distress Oxide ink as a "ground" for the flower bunch.

The image and sentiment have been heat embossed with fine detail embossing powder and for an extra bit of interest and shine, I added mini water droplets to complete the design.

I hope you have a beautiful Sunday filled with Sunshine!  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

It's a Happy Day

Hello and Happy Friday!  I have a quick share for you today featuring an image from Laurie Furnell.  I was commissioned to create a set of greeting cards and this is one of the cards in the set. Over the coming days, I will share the other cards I've created for my friend Angela.

This image is part of Laurie's Garden Gnomes Set, I've colored using Prismacolor Pencils.  I'm not certain if the black/white line drawn images are still available.  At last check of Laurie's Etsy Shop, she offers pre-colored clip art of the images.

The patterned paper is from an Easter Collection by Kat Scrappiness, the sentiments are from the Whimsical Forest Card Kit by Spellbinders and the sequins are from my stash.  Spring is on the way!

That's all I have for today, until next time - Happy Crafting!

Beautiful Blossoms Challenge Feb/Mar

Hello Friends and Happy Wednesday! I hope you had a lovely St. Valentine's Day, my hubby always buys me a box of chocolates and a card.  He always picks the best chocolates and thoughtful cards!

Today starts a new challenge month at The Beautiful Blossoms Challenge.  Projects must feature a floral as the focus and a mood board is provided for inspiration, the mood board this month is:

I decided to use the mood board as inspiration. I never think to put pink and yellow together, it is so fresh and Spring-like so my project was definitely inspired by those colors in the mood board.

Some time ago, I purchased the Stick and Stamp Mat from Brutus Monroe and this large floral stencil was included with the purchase.  I put the stencil away, knowing some day it would come in handy and I forgot about it.  Imagine the Light Bulb that went off above my head while I was shopping my stash and found it!

Using Distress Oxide Inks, I placed the stencil off center on the panel and blended the inks.  I splattered water and diluted pink ink over the panel and set it aside to dry.  The sentiment is from Altenew and I finished the card with clear iridescent sequins.

Please visit us at The Beautiful Blossoms Challenge and see what lovely projects my teamies have created.  We hope to inspire you to play along.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Gift of Hope

Hello Crafty Friends and Welcome to Sunday!  Superbowl Sunday here in the States, but that's not a big deal to me...I'll be crafting while hubby cheers on his Philadelphia Eagles!  Will you be watching the Game?

I have a quick share for you today featuring an image from the Gift of Hope Digital Set by Graciellie Design. I've colored the image using Prismacolor Pencils...I'm still trying to perfect my technique using these art tools.

The patterned papers are from the Echo Park Good Day Sunshine 6x6 paper pad, the sentiment is from the Bitty Blossoms Mini Set by Gina K. Designs.

I'm not happy with that fussy cutting work!  I don't know what possessed me to hand cut it but once I started, I was committed.  The image and sentiment have been popped on craft foam and the design finished with clear gems.

Have a wonderful week ahead and until next time, Happy Crafting!

Garden Gnome

Hi Friends and Happy Wednesday!  I have a quick share for you today featuring a Gnomie from Laurie Furnell Designs.  Let me start by saying, I'm really highlighting the color Purple these days.  My last 2 projects featured Purple (can you tell it's my favorite color?)

This is a black/white line image from her Garden Gnomes set (which I think now only includes pre-colored images).  I've colored Mr. Gnome using Prismacolor Pencils and the patterned papers are from a Spellbinders card kit.

The sentiment is from another Spellbinders card kit and the sequins are from my stash.  The focal panel has been trimmed using a perforated edge die from Alina Craft.

I couldn't resist coloring him with pastel, spring-like colors.  I think many across the country cannot wait for Spring to arrive.  That's all for today friends, have a great day.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Jan's Digi Stamps Challenge - February 2023

Hello Again!  I'm back with my second post for the day, it's a new monthly challenge start at the Jan's Digi Stamps Challenge Blog.  Jan has released 3 new sets this month in addition to the Easter Sale, where all Easter themed Sets are on Sale through the month of February.

My team project features one of Jan's older sets, the Botanical Orchids.  This is such a sweet, Springtime image and lovely sentiment.  I've done more practicing with my Prismacolor Pencils on this image as well.

I love Orchids and was gifted one at my retirement party.  I kept it alive for 3 years, that's a record for me....I do not have a green thumb.  I used a snippet of patterned paper and embossed a light green panel with a lattice design.

The focal and sentiment have been cut using stitched nesting circle dies from My Favorite Things; the sentiment has been popped on craft foam for dimension.  Lastly, I added purple gems for that much needed bling.

Please join us at Jan's this month to see how my team mates have used images from Jan's newest sets.  Also, don't forget the Easter Sale!  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Inspiration Station Challenge #46

Hello Crafty Friends and Welcome to Monday!  Today is the 1st Monday of the month and that means a new challenge has started at The Inspiration Station Challenge Blog.  An inspiration photo is provided and you create a project based on your interpretation of the prompt.

 The photo this month is:

Aww, how sweet is this photo?  It looks like some Love is being shared between the two and since this is the month of LOVE, I've been inspired to create a Valentine's/Friendship card.

Using the Love Letters Layering Stencil Set from Simon Says Stamp, I ink blended a post box and some love letters using various pastel shades of Catherine Pooler inks.

I've gone the extra mile and fussy cut the images, however there are coordinating dies for this stencil set.  I've also dry embossed the panels, popped the images, sentiment (which has been heat embossed with Copper fine detail powder) on foam pads and punched the corners of the panels.  Lastly, I've added a paper heart doily, a teeny pink bow and clear sequins to finish the design.

Please join us at The Inspiration Station this month.  We always love seeing how the photo prompt inspires everyone.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Blue Tulips

Hello Friends and Happy Wednesday!  It's the 1st Wednesday of the month and that always signals a new challenge month at The Paper Funday Challenge Blog.  Our generous sponsors this month are Newton's Nook and QKR Stampede.  The Optional Twist is:  Lot's of Layers.

For my project, I've used the sweet Tulips Stamp Set from Newton's Nook.  I've not personally seen blue tulips, maybe there are some in Holland but in the crafting world, we can create any color of flower we want!

I've been trying to expand my skills with colored pencils and not always grab my alcohol markers, so I've colored this image with my Prismacolor Pencils.  I've kept the design sweet and simple, after coloring I lightly blended blue ink over the background.

Before mounting the panel on a black mat, I splattered with diluted blue and white ink sprays.  Lastly, I've added blue gems for a bit of sparkle and shine.  We hope to see you at The Paper Funday this month.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!
