Instagram Card Makers Re-Discovery Hop - Sympathy

Hi Friends and Happy Sunday!  It's the last Sunday of the month and time for the Instagram Card Makers Re-Discovery Hop, where we create a project using only items found in our stashes.  The theme this month is Sympathy.  You can start the Hop HERE starting 11:00 AM EST.

For my project, I've created a simple Sympathy card using the Cotton Comfort Stamp Set from Altenew.  To start, I swiped 3 colors of acrylic paint across a card panel to create the background.

Once the paint was completely dry, I heat embossed the image and sentiment, then adhered the panel to the card base.  Lastly I've added 3 dots of Silver Stickles to highlight the sentiment.

I hope you'll hop through all the inspiration, there are some awesome card makers and it's always inspirational to see what everyone creates. That's all for today, until next time, Happy Crafting!

Hello Beautiful

Hello Crafty Friends!  It's Wednesday and we're almost to May...wow, where does the time go.  When I was a child, I couldn't wait to grow up, wishing time would pass quickly.  Now I'm all grown up, I would love time to slow down.  Funny how that works.

I have a quick share today featuring more of those Puffy Stickers that were found in my stash.  I'm keeping true to my resolution of using things I already have on hand and I thought these would make a sweet and simple card.

The design is simple, I tore some masking paper for the rough edges and blended Distress Inks across the middle of the panel.  I did a bit of splattering with Dina Wakely White Acrylic Gloss Spray and adhered the Butterflies.

The sentiment is from a Kelly Creates Stamp Set and it's been heat embossed.  The stamps are very large and perfect for scrapbooking pages, learning hand lettering or making a bold statement on a card front.  Lastly, I've added some color shifting sequins for additional interest.

That's all for today.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Aloha Forever

Happy Sunday Friends!  I have a quick share for you this afternoon featuring a Tropical theme.  I felt like being creative today but didn't feel like getting out loads of supplies for stamping, coloring and etc.  I set about rummaging through my stash to see what I could use and found some puffy stickers.

I purchased several puffy sticker packs at the Dollar Tree a few years ago, when things were STILL a $1...instead of the current $1.25.  I thought they were cute and I would use them on scrapbook layouts (which I've yet to make) or sharing with swap friends.  Instead, they ended up in a drawer.

I used a small acrylic block and Catherine Pooler Inks to create the background.  I applied the ink to the stamping block, spritzed with water and "stamped" the color on the panel.  I splattered Dina Wakely Black Spray Ink and once all was dry, I applied the stickers.

To finish it off, I've adhered color shifting sequins and Calypso Blue Twine; both from Fun Stampers Journey.  This card was quick and easy - I never broke a sweat!

Have a fantastic week ahead and until next time, Happy Crafting!

Good Vibes Only with Milo Toucan

Hello Friends and Happy Wednesday!  I have a quick share for you today featuring the Milo Toucan Die Set from Simon Says Stamp.

Milo Toucan is a paper piecing die set, so I die cut the pieces for him from various colors of scrap card.  I was gifted a Tropical/Safari Set from a Swap Buddy and totally forgot about it.  While searching for something to use for this card, I found the goodies and knew they would be perfect for Milo.

The sentiment has been heat embossed and the circle cut using a nesting circle die from Kat Scrappiness.  I created a cluster of leaves using the chipboard pieces from the gifted set.  Lastly, I've added pink pearls for bling.

That's all for today.  Have a Good Vibes Only Day and until next time, Happy Crafting!

Spring Flowers and Coffee

Hello Friends and Happy Monday!  I hope your weekend was grand and you did something fun.  It was a rainy weekend here in my neck of the Florida woods, however we need the rain so I welcomed it!

Today is the mid-month inspiration post for Jan's Digi Stamps Challenges and Jan released 2 gorgeous floral sets for April:  Early May Bouquet and Spring Flowers and Coffee.  My card today features the Spring Flowers and Coffee digital set.  There is also a Mother's Day Sale 10 Lovely Digi Sets, perfect for Mother's Day, on Sale through the month of April 2023.

For my card, I've colored the image using Prismacolor Pencils and fussy cut the images.  I wanted to do something a bit different than the standard card, and I don't do fun folds very often so I created your run of the mill Easel Card.

The patterned paper was included in a U.K. Magazine Freebie ages ago and I'd forgotten I had them.  Actually, now I think about it, I may have won these papers in a challenge.

The sentiment is included in the digi set and it's been popped on craft foam in order to create the stopper.  I've added a few iridescent clear sequins to the mix for some sparkle and shine.

Please stop by the Jan's Challenge Blog to see what my teamies have created with these lovely sets. Until next time, Have a fantastic week and Happy Crafting!

Beautiful Blossoms Challenge - Calming Cluster

Hello Friends and Happy Saturday!  Today is the 15th of the month and that signals a new challenge start at The Beautiful Blossoms Challenge.  The challenge theme is Always Anything Flowers Goes with Optional Mood Board.   The optional board this month is:

I love the colors in this mood board and even though it's completely optional to use, I did allow the colors to inspire my project this month.

Using the Calming Clusters Stamp Set from Altenew, I've created a sweet and simple design.  The image has been colored using Prismacolor Pencils.

To highlight the image, I've die cut and embossed a simple frame and adhered flat to the floral panel. I gently rubbed white pigment ink over the embossing to make it pop.  I've also used splattering and lilac gems for an extra bit of interest.

Also, the team is excited to be collaborating with The Double Trouble Challenge #136 today through April 27th.  Please visit their challenge HERE and play along!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you at The Beautiful Blossoms Challenge!  Until next time, Happy Crafting.

There's Gnome One Like You

Happy Easter Sunday to you and yours!  I have a quick share today before I put the Ham in the oven and prepare the deviled eggs for our Dinner.  My card features a Laurie Furnell Garden Gnome, which is a digital image, and I've colored him using my Prismacolor Pencils.

For the panel, I used a peach colored card and a snippet of patterned paper from my stash.  I've backed the focal image with a black mat, added iridescent sequins for sparkle and a sentiment from Polkadoodles.

Have a fabulously blessed Easter Sunday.  May your day be full of love, peace and joy.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Paper Funday Challenge April 2023

Hello Friends and Happy Wednesday!  Today begins a new challenge month at The Paper Funday Challenge.  The challenge is Anything Goes with an Optional Twist of:  Flower Power.  The sponsors this month are Conie Fong Art and The Colour of Love.

For my project today, I'm featuring the Anouska Flowerlily Flower Pot Pretty digital image, generously provided by our sponsor The Colour of Love.

I've colored the image using Prismacolor Pencils.  I kept the design fairly sweet and simple, only using 1 panel of patterned paper and a black mat and loads of glitter....let me explain....

To jazz it up, I dotted liquid adhesive on the artist drawn circles/bubbles and sprinkled glitter over top.  The glitter adhered to the adhesive and now the card is super sparkly with no glitter fall-off.  The sentiment is from an older Card TV set, and popped on foam for dimension.

We hope you'll join in the challenge!  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Jan's Digi Stamps Challenge - April 2023

Welcome Back Friends!  It's a new challenge month at the Jan's Digi Stamps Challenge Blog and Jan has released 2 new sets this month:  Early May Bouquet and Spring Flowers and Coffee.  There is also a Mother's Day Sale, 10 sets currently available at a discount price.  And don't forget the Freebie Section, there are some nice sentiments you can get for FREE.

My card today features an image and sentiment from the April Showers Promise digital set.  I've colored the image using my Prismacolor Pencils.

This image has a lot to offer with those Wellies filled with beautiful flowers.  I stuck to a sweet and simple design for this card.

I hope April brings us Showers, we are dry as a bone here in Florida! My poor shrubs cry every afternoon they are thirsty!  Hand watering is killing my Water bill....but I digress....please stop by the challenge and join in the fun.  The team has created some lovely inspiration pieces featuring Jan's newest sets.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Inspiration Station April 2023 - Challenge #48

Hi Friends, I'm back with my second post for today.  It's the 1st Monday of the month and that signals a new challenge at The Inspiration Station Challenge Blog.  An inspiration photo is provided and you create a project based on your interpretation of the photo.  This month's inspiration is:

How lovely, a huge field of Tulips!  I'm imagining this field might be in Holland, isn't it beautiful?  Naturally I was inspired by the gorgeous Rainbow of Tulips and remembered I have the Exotic Tulips Layering Stamp Set with Coordinating Dies from Altenew, so that's what I've used for my card today.

These florals are large so only a standard Slimline card would do.  I went with a rainbow of Catherine Pooler inks for my flowers.

I stamped and die cut as many Tulips as would fit on the card panel. The panel was cut using a slimline nesting die from Kat Scrappiness.  It's hard to see but I've splattered diluted blue ink over the panel prior to adhering the flowers.

Lastly, I've added iridescent sequins for that extra bit of sparkle and shine.  The sentiment is from The Easter Blessing Stamp Set by Gina K. Designs.  Please visit the Challenge and see how my teamies have interpreted the photo.  We hope to inspire you and would love to see your project linked up.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

April 2023 Triple B Challenge - Birds, Butterflies and Blossoms

Hi Friends and Happy Monday!  It's a busy Monday, I have 3 posts for you today so let's get started!

I've been invited to Guest Design for the April challenge of the Triple B Challenge - Birds, Butterflies and Blossoms.  The premise of the challenge is to include at least one of the "B"'s, either birds, butterflies, blossoms, or you can include 2 or all 3 elements, and there is a mood board to inspire you.  The mood board for this month is:

I was inspired by the Birds and Blossoms in the mood board and I have the Layered Birdie Die Set from Simon Says Stamp.  This was the 1st time I've used this die set and it's one of those crafty items that gets pushed down in the "To Use" Basket in your craft room.

I decided since I was die cutting the birdie layers, I would die cut some bitty blossoms and branches.  After die cutting all the pieces, I've ink blended everything except the foliage, which I left white.

The patterned paper is a scrap from a Polkadoodles Digital Paper Pack and the sentiment is from a card swap.  I've placed small pink gems in the middle of the flowers and 1 black gem for the birds' eye.  One flower and the sentiment have been popped on craft foam for dimension.

I appreciate being invited to Guest Design with this talented team, I've had loads of fun creating this Spring-time Card using this little birdie die.  Hop over to Triple B and see what the team has created, I'm certain you'll be inspired.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Hoppy Easter

Hi Friends and Happy Weekend!  I'm back with another quick share featuring the little sitting bunny I shared yesterday but today he's with his stool.

I can see this precious little one in all sorts of scenarios, not just Easter.  I was gifted the die set but I have found him on Amazon HERE.  While searching for him I also found a bunny in a swing...how cute is that?

I've kept the card Sweet and Simple using a scrap of patterned paper for him to "land" on, some pearls from Kat Scrappiness and a sentiment from Alina Crafts.

I did some shading on the bunny with alcohol markers, it helps him stand out against the white background.  That's all I have for today.  I wish you a fantastic weekend and until next time, Happy Crafting!
