A Little Love and Pixie Dust

Happy Monday and to those in the States - Happy Memorial Day.  Today is the day we remember and honor those who served.

Today's make and share features alcohol inks and a little Fairy.

The image and sentiment are from the Hero Arts Fairy Kisses Stamp set and the die cut patterned paper was created using Tim Holtz alcohol inks on glossy card.  I've colored the Fairy using Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers and popped her up using foam pads for dimension.

Have a wonderful day and until next time, Happy Crafting!

Hello Sunflowers and Sunshine

Good Sunday to you!  I hope your weekend has been great so far and if you're having a holiday tomorrow, I wish you lots of enjoyment.  Today's make and share features a Trio of Sunflowers.

I've made a Mini Slimline card measuring 8"x4" with Sunflowers from the Spellbinders Fun Stampers Journey Hello Sunflower Stamp Set.  I stamped the smallest of the sunflower images 3 times and colored with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers.  I die cut the images with a circle die and mounted them on foam pads.  The sentiment, from the same set, was heat embossed and mounted on foam pads.  I adhered all to a card base with mats from 12x12 single sheets of designer papers from Hobby Lobby.  Lastly, added twine and sequins for a finishing touch.

Sunflowers are one of my favorite flowers and it's sad the stalk only produces one bloom then it's done.  Sunflowers say Summer and Fall to me.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Vintage Botanical

Happy Saturday!  Ahhh...the weekend and here in the States, it's a holiday weekend.  Today's make and share features stamping and laminating.

I was inspired by a Jennifer McGuire video where she shared a technique using a laminator.  To create my card, I stamped the image, from Bo Bunny's Vintage Botanical Journal stamp set, on the inside of a laminating sheet using Stazon Solvent Ink.  I let this dry thoroughly and ran the sheet through a hot laminator.  The result is a stamped image encased in the laminating sheet.

I die cut the image with a scalloped oval die and strategically placed drops of glue on the piece to adhere to a cream colored die cut card.  I die cut a small panel and mounted the image on this panel using foam pads.  Then mounted the entire panel on the card base using foam pads.  Lastly, added cream colored seam binding and 2 sentiment strips from the Tim Holtz "Clippings" strip pack.  The designer papers are from the Prima Marketing "Romance Novel" 6x6 paper pad.

It's a unique and interesting technqiue that produces beautiful results.  Give it a go, just remember to use an ink that can be used on a surface such as a laminating sheet.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Flower Child

It's Fri-YAY!  We've made it to the weekend and here in the States, it's a holiday weekend!  What are your plans for this Memorial Day Weekend?  Mine? Swimming, BBQ'ing, Lounging with a cool drink and Crafting!

Let's move on with todays make and share.  This A2 sized card features lots of scrap card, stamping and heat embossing.

I was inspired to create this card from watching a Gina K. Designs You Tube Video so I cut up strips of scrap card and adhered to a piece of printer paper.  I wanted to adhere to printer paper in case something went wonky.  Once adhered, I stamped the image and sentiment; both from Gina K. Desings' "Flower Child" stamp set on top of the strips and heat embossed using Fine Detail Powder.

Lastly, added panel to a card base of 110 lb. Neenah Classic Crest Solar White card and placed sequins for a bit of shine.  A nice way to use some scrap card and I know we all have loads of it!

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Mini Poppy

Hello and Happy Thursday!  Today's make and share features a mini poppy, heat embossing, ink smooshing and scrap card.

To start, I stamped and heat embossed Altenew's Mini Poppy stamp on a snippet of card.  I thought about coloring with alcohol markers but decided on a more organic theme so I decided to ink smoosh (one of my fav techniques).

Using shades of purple and green Distress Inks, I smooshed until I was happy with the panel.  I added more snippets of lavendar card, mounted the mini panel on top using foam pads and added all to a purple card base.  Finally, added a piece of black licorice twine and lilac gems for interest.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Hope Blooms

Hello and Happy Wednesday, I hope your week is going great!  Today's make and share features a large bouquet, heat embossing and watercoloring.

This card measures 5" square, the floral bouquet and sentiment are part of the Altenew Simply Spring stamp set.  This image is huge, as you can see, I trimmed some off (which hurt my heart) so I could arrange it on the card front.

I heat embossed using copper embossing powder and watercolored, cut out with the coordinating dies and mounted on foam pads for dimension.  The designer papers are from the Bo Bunny "Family Heirlooms Collection".  I stamped the sentiment on a snippet of the designer paper using Charcoal Brown ink by Gina K. Designs.  Finishing up, I added a Polka Dot Ribbon, Bow and faux Pearls for interest.  My attempt at a "Vintage" theme.

I would like to remind you of my challenge at The Inspiration Station.  Please visit and be inspired by the photo and enter your design!

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Have a Lovely Day

Hello and Happy Tuesday!  Today's make and share is a quick one featuring a stamped image from the stamp set included in the Spellbinders Card Kit of the Month for April 2021.  The kit is titled Sincerely Yours and contains lots of great die cuts, ephemera, dies, cardstock, sequins, foam pads, double sided tape and a stamp set.

I wanted to keep the design fairly CAS so I stamped the image and colored very basically with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers.  I then Die Cut with a small postage stamp die and mounted the image on foam pads.  I layed down some washi tape from my stash, stamped the sentiment and cut with a circle die, adhered to a piece of torn vellum.  Using my Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher, added some mini staples, popped on foam pads and added to the card with sequins for shine.  Finishing up, I mounted the entire panel on double sided fun foam and placed on the card base.

Until Next Time, Happy Crafting!

Lily Love Bug Sending Love

Hello and Happy Monday!  I hope your weekend was grand and you found some time for yourself.

Today beings a new challenge at Pammie's Inky Pinkies with an Anything Goes Theme and sponsor Polkadoodles.  For my design team project, I created a Mini Slimline Card using the Lily Love Bug Sending Love image.  I own the entire digital bundle of this Cutie and there are over 200 images in this kit.  It's an amazing value if you like this adorable Lily.

My card measures 6"x3" and the image was colored using Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers.  The designer papers are from the kit so it made coordinating a breeze.  The sentiment is from the Maymay Made It "Buggy Love" Stamp Set and the sentiment banner was cut using the MFT Stitched Sentiment Strips set.

Please join us this week at Pammie's for some inspiration, we hope to see you there!  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Kind Thanks

Good Sunday to you!  It's a glorious, sunny day here in Central Florida and I hope it's the same where you are.  Today's make and share features a gorgeous bloom, ink layering, die cutting, embossing and a nice discovery.

I started the card with stamping a blossom from the new 8x11 Altenew Majestic Bouquet Stamp and Coordinating Die Set.   This is a beautiful set containing 41 images and 8 coordinating dies.  I stamp layered the flower using Gina K. Designs and Fun Stampers Journey Inks.  I embossed a white snippet of card with a basketweave embossing folder and die cut the bottom with a stitched, scalloped edge die from MFT.  I layered everything on a piece of patterned paper also from MFT and added sequins for shine.

Now here's the discovery:  When looking for a snippet of card to stamp the blossom and leaves on, I grabbed a scrap piece of matte photo paper, not realizing it wasn't 80 lb. Neenah Solar White.  After stamping, I layed the blossom and leaves aside to dry while preparing the remaining card elements.  As the flower and leaves dried, they took on a Velvet-like appearance and feel.  It is quite a wonderous discovery and I am so pleased with how they look in person....it's incredible.  This is a "mistake" that I will definitely use again.

P.S.  I would like to mention the Inspiration Station Challenge and invite you to hop over and enter your projects.  The challenge is based on your intrepretaion of the photo.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

You're An Oranginal

Hello and Welcome to Saturday!  Todays make and share features ink blending, stamping, die cutting and Oranges!

The card started by stamping a juicy bunch of ripe Oranges from the Hero Arts Orange Blossoms Stamp Set.  I colored the image with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers and die cut with the coordinating dies.  I die cut a circle in a snippet of masking paper and ink blended orange tones using Distress Oxide Inks.

I then splattered the inked area with water and White Gloss Spray by Dina Wakley, mounted the image on foam pads and stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set.

Living in Florida, we have an Orange Tree in our Garden, it's at least 40 years old and continually produces delicious fruit for us each season.

Japanese Proverb

Hello and Happy Friday!  We've made it to the week end and I hope your week was spectacular.  Today's make and share features a beautiful blossom and a Japanese Proverb.

Using the Altenew Camellia Build a Flower Stamp and Die Set, I stamped the bloom using distress oxide inks and mounted on foam pads; cutting out with the coordinating dies.  Then added two snippets of card; one a silver mirror and the other a stripe, to accent the flower.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set and lastly, adding sequins for additonal interest.  It's a lovely sentiment.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Fairy Dust Makes Everything Better

Hello and Happy Thursday!  Today's make and share features ink blending, Splattering and die cutting...mixed with a little Fairy Dust.

To create the design, I ink blended an area with shades of blue distress oxide inks; I wanted the edges uneven so I tore pieces of copy paper and tacked down with removable adhesive.  I splattered the area with White Gloss Spray by Dina Wakley and drops of water.  I doubled-up the die cuts for thickness/dimension and arranged how I wanted them.  The sentiment strip, which is from the Simon Says Stamp Encouraging Sentiment Strips Pack was added but in hindsight, I wish I would have popped up on foam pads.  Lastly, added sequins for sparkle and shine.  You are your own Superpower!

Chamomile Flowers #2

Hello and Happy Wednesday!  Todays make and share features another set of Chamomile Flowers from the Altenew Monthly Paint-A-Flower Set.

Yesterday I shared a card using one of the Chamomile bunches from the stamp set and this card features the other image.  I wanted to try the Black Magic coloring technique, in this case I used Kraft card and Prismacolor Pencils.  For this technique, you stamp the image (if using black card, you will also heat emboss with white powder), lay down a base of white and color over top.  The white layer allows the colors to Pop off the dark background.

I've kept the design simple, using the same Scrapbooking Queen sentiment and adding Nuvo Crystal Dots.  If you haven't tried the Black Magic Technique, give it a go.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Seeds of Friendship

Hello and Happy Tuesday!  Today I'm sharing a card created using the Paint-A-Flower Monthly Stamp Set from Altenew.  This is the May 2021 set and it features a bouquet of lovely Chamomile Flowers.  This set includes 2 floral images and 5 sentiments/word stamps; the sentiment used today is from a Scrapbooking Queen set that I've had for ages.  I don't believe the Scrapbooking Queen sells supplies any longer.

I've colored the image with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers, then fussy cut and mounted on foam pads for dimension.  I've ink blended the area directly behind the focal image with the newest Distress Oxide color - Salvaged Patina, splattered diluted Dina Wakley Black Gloss Spray and stamped the sentiment using Versafine Onyx Black Ink.  I adore this set and can't wait to create using the other floral image in the set.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Inspiration Station Challenge #6

Hello and Happy Monday!  I trust your weekend was lovely and you enjoyed some time outdoors.  Today starts a new challenge at Inspiration Station and the inspiration photo is:

When I first saw the inspiration picture, I thought Vintage but I'm rubbish at Vintage, Shabby Chic or anything related to that style.  I'm all about color and my projects over the years certainly reflect that so I had to put my thinking cap on.  I came up with this:

I had a snippet of card left, from another project, that has a musical note design (and now that I look at it here, it appears I've placed it upside down - LOL) that became the base layer, I stamped, heat embossed, die cut, and ink blended over whimsical floral images from a Woodware Set and arranged a small cluster.  The sentiment strip is from the Tim Holtz Small Talk strip set.

Please join us at The Inspiration Station this round, the challenge ends 06 June 2021 so there is plenty of time to get creative.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Sunday Songs & Rhymes

Hello and Happy Sunday!  I've been invited to Guest Design for the Outlawz Sunday Song & Rhymes Challenge and I was delighted to create a project using some sweet images from sponsor Sherry West Art.  They are digital images and easily resizable.

Today's Rhyme is as follows:

Baby animals
Soft and sweet.
Tiny mouths,
Eyes still asleep.

Some have feathers
Some have fur
So brand new
They hardly stir.

Baby animals
Oh so small,
Come in spring.
We love them all!

Keeping baby animals in mind and they being so small, I chose to create a small tag with very small images.  My wee scene is contained on the tag, framed with a die cut.  I fussy cut the images, which with my hands these days, was no easy feat!

This sweet baby frog, who was a tadpole yesterday, is ready to make a splash in the world and experience everything his surroundings have to offer.

Please stop in and check out the Outlawz Sunday Song & Rhymes Challenge.  We would love to see what you create based on the poem.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

I've colored the image with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers and die cut the focal image with a scalloped die.  I created the background using the "smooshing" technique and Twisted Citron, Rustic Wildnerness, Blueprint Sketch and Salty Ocean Distress Oxide Inks.  The focal and sentiment flag were popped on foam pads for dimension, sequins and doodling added for interest.

Illuminating Marigolds

Hello and Happy Wednesday!  Today's make and share features some cheerful marigolds and a Pantone Color Scheme.

The Pantone Color of the Year 2021 is actually two colors - Yellow (or Illuminating) and Ultimate Gray.  I have been wanting to create a project using this color scheme, so putting my thinking cap on...I received the Altenew Smiles and Hugs Stamp Set with Coordinating dies as a Mother's Day gift so here was my chance to create a Pantone card featuring some cheery Marigolds.

I stamped and heat embossed the images and watercolored them using Arteza Real Brush Markers.  Using the coordinating dies, I cut the flowers and leaves and placed the arrangement on a scrap of designer paper from The Paper Studio.

I heat embossed the sentiment, which is from the same stamp set, popped the strips along with the flower in the front on foam pads and lastly, added Nuvo Drops to accent the design.

Have you created a Pantone project yet?  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Pammie's Inky Pinkie's Challenge #2119

Hello and Happy Monday!  I hope everyone had a lovely Mother's Day yesterday.  Today begins a new challenge at Pammie's Inky Pinkies with the theme of Anything Goes.  The sponsor this week is the talented We Are 3 Digital Shop.  They have the prettiest digital papers and images, so for my design team project this week,  I chose the Nautical Digital Papers along with the Hero Arts "Seas The Day" stamp set.

The papers made a great background for my scene.  I stamped and colored the images with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers, fussy cut them and popped them on foam pads for dimension.  I die cut a circle and frame; embossing the frame with the Swiss Dots folder, stamped and heat embossed the sentiment and for a finishing touch, added Clear Stickles on the "lights" of the lighthouse.
