Valentine's Day Gnome in Love - Classic Design Challenge

Hello Crafty Friends and Happy Tuesday!  It's been a minute since I've posted and it feels good to get Mojo back as well as my health.  I contracted RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus) and was quite sick.  Then my dear husband caught it from me, then we were both poorly together.  We are on the mend now and there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

With that being said, I was unable to complete my team project for The Classic Design Challenge start on the 15th of this month, but have now been strong enough and motivated to complete it.  The sponsors for this challenge are Goha Digital Stamps and The Colour of Love.  I've chosen a Gnome image from Goha Digital Stamps for my project.

I decided to create a Valentine's Day card for a friend and colored the image using Prismacolor Pencils. The patterned papers are snippets from my stash; papers I've used for the past few years for Valentine's Day projects.

I've added a few layers for interest, the sentiments are from the Friendship Greetings stamp set by Kat Scrappiness.

To complete the card, I've added red enamel dots around the sentiment strips, which have been popped on craft foam for dimension.

The team and I would like to invite you to visit us at The Classic Design Challenge and play along.  There are 2 chances to win, so join us.  With that, I'll say please stay healthy and until next time, Happy Crafting!

The Paper Funday Challenges February 2022

Hello and Happy Wednesday Crafty Friends!  Today begins a new challenge month at The Paper Funday Challenge Blog.  The challenges are Always Anything Goes with an Optional Twist.  The Twist this month is Hugs & Kisses.  This twist is an easy one as we have entered the month of Love!

Our sponsors this month are the generous All Dressed Up and Polkadoodles.  These 2 sponsors have the sweetest images and for my DT project, I've used the Happy Valentine's digital image from All Dressed Up.

My card measures 5.5" square and I've keep the design sweet and simple; no dimension or bells and whistles were added.  I plan on sending this card overseas to a Swap Buddy and I didn't want it to be too bulky.

I've colored the image using Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers and rounded the bottom corners of the focal, mat and cardbase for interest.  I did add some black dots here and there; I thought about splattering with black ink but decided not to...didn't want to risk messing up the colored image.

Please join us this month at The Paper Funday Challenges.  We would love to see your designs.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Sending You Love

Hello Crafty Friends!  I'm on the Kat Scrappiness Blog today with a card created using some of the new products from Kat's January Valentine's Release.

Before I get to my card, I want to remind everyone of the Instagram Hop that is currently going on and the New Valentine's Day Release at Kat Scrappiness.

Visit the new release Blog post HERE and comment for the opportunity to win a $25 Gift Voucher to the Kat Scrappiness Shop.

There are also many Valentine's themed products and embellishments on Sale.   Now is a great time to stock up for those Valentine's Day cards, Scrapbook Layouts, Journal pages and more.

Don't forget to Hop along with the Kat Scrappiness Team on Instagram for the opportunity to win a $25 Gift Voucher to the Kat Scrappiness Shop.  The Winner will be announced on 08 January.

Now for my card:

To start my card, I ink smooshed a panel of watercolor card using shades of pink inks.  Using the new A2 Heart Sunburst Cover Die, I ran the watercolor panel through the die cutting machine and kept the cut pieces in the panel.

I've die cut the sentiment using the Sending My Love Sentiment Die with Shadow; however I adhered flat to the card panel without the shadow layer and added Glossy Accents for dimension and shine.

Next, using the smallest heart die in the Zig Zag Heart Dies, I cut a heart, popped on craft foam, adhered to the center of the card base and added Glossy accents to the inner portion.

Lastly, I've added embellishments from the Grape Pearl Mix  for that extra bit of interest, texture and shine.

That's all I have for you today.  I'll be back on the 15th of the month to showcase another card featuring some new products from the Valentine's Release.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Jan's Digi Stamps Challenge - January 2022 Anything Goes

Hello Friends and Happy New Year!  I hope your holidays were exceptional and you're ready to tackle 2022!  Today begins a new challenge month at the Jan's Digi Stamps Challenge and the theme is Always Anything Goes.

Jan has released 2 new stamp sets for this month:  I Only Have Eyes for You and Sweetheart Candy.  There is also a Sale for the month of January and these sets, along with others, are on SALE at 25% the original price.

For my design team project, I've created a Valentine's Day themed card using the "I Only Have Eyes for You" image and matching sentiment.

My background has been ink blended using pink shades of Distress Oxide Inks along with ink splatters.  The panel was then die cut using the Stitched Hearts Cover Plate Die"  from Kat Scrappiness.

The focal image and sentiment strip were fussy cut, popped on craft foam and adhered to the panel.  I cut the sentiment into "blocks".  Lastly, Grape Pearl Embellishments from Kat Scrappiness were added for additional interest.

Please join us at the Jan's Challenge Blog for this months' ATG challenge.  I'll be back on the 17th of January with a mid-month inspiration post using Jan's other new set - "Sweetheart Candy".

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Sweet & Simple Stash Busting Day #7

Hello and Happy Saturday!  I'm back again with another stash busting project.  I created this card for a swap partner and at the time of this post, I'm hoping she has received as Valentine's Day is tomorrow.

This A2 sized card started with an embossed panel (I like to add texture to a plain white piece of card) that I splattered with Candied Apple and Picked Raspberry Distress Inks mixed with water.  I used die cuts, a scrap of mirror card, a piece of ribbon that's been in my stash for 2+ years, heart gems I found tucked in a drawer and a chipboard flower.  No extra bells and whistles were added as the gold glitter heart dies cut seemed to be enough.

That's all for today!  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Sweet & Simple Stash Busting Day #4

Hello and Happy Tuesday!  I hope your day was terrific as it's almost bedtime for me but I wanted to post another Stash Busting Project.

For this A2 card, I embossed a white panel with the Swiss Dots embossing folder and created my own background by splattering with Picked Raspberry, Candied Apple and Aged Mahogany Distress Inks mixed with water.  All other elements are from my stash; the dimensional elements, paper doily, designer paper scraps and sequins.  This was a fun and quick make.  It's another Valentine's Day card for a swap partner.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Triple Heart Easel Card

Hello and Happy Thursday!  The first week of February 2021 is almost history and with 6 more weeks of Winter (so says Puxatawney Phil the Ground Hog), what a better way to spend the day than to make a Triple Heart Easel Card.

Although it may look complicated, it's an easy make with a heart template, dies and pretty paper.
To make the bases, I used 3 different sized heart templates; each size different by 1/2".  I folded patterned card and traced the templates leaving the tops of the hearts flat; hanging the curved tops of the hearts over the fold.  I then die cut stacking hearts for embellishing.

Adhering each base to one another, I created each into an easel and decorated with dies cuts, ribbon and tiny heart punches. The sentiment is from the Cardz TV "Mini Messages" stamp set.

I'm in full St. Valentine's Day crafting mode.  I hope my swap recipients receive in time for Valentine's DAy....my Christmas cards were so delayed...some are just now receiving...and it's February.  I hope this year, holiday mail will move faster.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Paper Funday Challenge - February 2021

Hello and Happy Wednesday!  Today starts a new monthly challenge at The Paper Funday Challenges.  The theme this month is Anything Goes with Optional Twist of:  Love is in the Air and we have two wonderful sponsors:  Sherri Baldy's Besties and Hetty Clare.

For my design team project, I created a Valentine's Day card for a swap partner using a new Fluffy Besties image that I thought was perfect for such an occasion.

I've colored the image using Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers, designer papers from the Recollections "Love and Devotion" 12x12 paper pad and sentiment from the Cardz TV "Mini Messages" stamp set.  I followed Sketch #30 from Cardz TV Free Sketches and popped up the small left panel and focal image using foam pads.  Finally, the only bells and whistles used was  a bit of Wink of Stella on the hair band, the chocolate box ribbon, her lips and earrings.

Please join us this month for the challenge at The Paper Funday.  We hope to inspire you with our team projects and cannot wait to see what you've created using the Anything Goes with Optional Twist theme.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Bugaboo Saturday Challenge - Valentine's Jar

Hello and Happy Saturday!  I hope your past week was great and your weekend is better!  Today begins a new Saturday Weekly challenge at Bugaboo's Catch the Bug blog.  The theme for this week is Recipe:  1 Ribbon, 2 Buttons and 3 Layers.  For my design team project, I created an Aperture card featuring the Valentine Jar digital stamp (**this image is the Friday Freebie this week!).

I colored the image using my Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers and to create the aperture, I die cut an oval opening in the front of the card base and the layer.  I also die cut the focal image using the same oval die so it would be a perfect fit and adhered to the inside of the card, lining up with the aperture opening.  The designer papers are from the Recollections "Love and Devotion" 12x12 paper pad and were used for the front and inner panels.

For the Recipe Theme, I used 1 pink ribbon, 3 red pieces of card candy as I did not have small, red buttons and there are 3 layers.  The sentiment is from the Cardz TV "Mini Messages" stamp set and for a finishing touch, loads of Wink of Stella over the focal image (it's a shame the shimmer and sparkle doesn't show in the photos).

Please stop by Catch the Bug Challenge Blog and enter your make using the Recipe Theme, we would love to see what you create.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

I've created a Valentine's Day themed Birthday Card for a friend who has a February 14th birthday.  I colored the digi with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers, the designer papers are from the "Love and Devotion" 12x12 paper stack by Recollections, paper doily and sequins from my stash of goodies, fuzzy cut a sentiment strip; the love with arrow from the paper stack and created the 2nd sentiment on the computer.

I had fun with this one and I invite you to stop by the challenge blog to enter in any one of the running challenges - or all for a chance to win some awesome prizes.

Stella Love - Person to Annoy

Yay...it's Friday and I have a short post for you today.  I would like to share the Valentine's Card I made for my dear husband, I hope he find the humor in it....I thought it was hilarious.

I used the Bugaboo Stamps image Stella Love - Person to Annoy for my Twisted Easel Card.  The image comes with the sentiment which is so cute.  This card is an A2 size and I colored the images with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers.  I fussy cut the main characters, placed on a die cut oval, then popped the entire piece up with foam pads.  I used several layers and some designer papers from a Recollections Paper Pad titled Love and Devotion; I've had this paper pad in my collection since last Valentine's Day.

I hope you like my card and until next time, Happy Crafting!

Creative Knockouts Challenge #336 - Love/Valentine's Day

Hello and Happy Thursday!  Today starts a new Challenge at Creative Knockouts and the theme this round is Love/Valentine's Day.  Our sponsor is The Paper Shelter and I created my design team project using the Love is Chemistry digital stamp.  This stamp comes in a black and white line image as well as a pre-colored image.  I tend to color my own images but this time I was running short of time and decided to use the pre-colored image.

The image is adorable and since the image printed in color, it made creating this card quick and easy.  I created a Decoupage Topper card that measures 5" square.  I fussy cut the little scientist, the floating heart and the measuring tube on the table; popped them up on foam pads and placed each over the original printed images.  It adds dimension and Pop!

I wish you a lovely Valentine's Day and hope you will stop by Creative Knockouts and enter your Love Creation!  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

The Paper Funday Challenges - Anything Goes with Twist: St. Valentine's Day

Hello!  Today starts a new monthly challenge at The Paper Funday Challenges and our sponsor this month is the lovely Cute As A Button Stamps.  I had the pleasure of using 2 images from Cute As A Button to create 2 Valentine's Day Cards.

This first image is Mopsy Molly Rag Doll which comes in a black and white as well as a pre-colored image.  I used the black and white image and colored with my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.  This is a standard A2 size card that I folded differently (I cannot recall the specific name of this fold), added some sequins and Wink of Stella for added sparkle and called it finished.

My second card is the adorable Sloth I'm Hung Up On You.  This card is also a standard A2 size that I colored with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.  I fussy cut him and placed him on a circle die cut.  I free hand cut the banner piece, added some sequins for sparkle and called this one finished.

We hope you will join us this month at The Paper Funday Challenges.  We look forward to seeing your creations.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Penny's Paper Crafty Challenges - Stella's Valentine's Frame

Hello Everyone, today begins a new 2 week challenge at Penny's Paper Crafty Challenges.  Our sponsor for this challenge is the fun Bugaboo Stamps and the theme is Anything Goes.

I had a great time coloring up the Stella's Valentine's Day Frame.  This is such a fun image and very easy to color; which is what's so appealing about Bugaboo's stamps.

This card reminds me of my son, who loves to go to Walgreen after holidays to pick up the markdown sweets.

This card measures 5" square and I kept it simple so the Frame-It would be the highlight of the card.  Stella just cracks me up!   I used Glossy Accents on the lenses of her glasses for a bit of dimension and along with Wink of Stella Clear on the hearts.

We hope you'll join us this round at Penny's challenges; we look forward to seeing you.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

The Paper Funday Challenges - Love with a Twist

Hello and Happy Wednesday.  Today begins a new challenge at  The Paper Funday Challenges and the theme for February is Love with a Twist:  Create a paper project with a Love theme using the colors Red, Pink and White.  The sponsor for the challenge this month is Hetty Clare and she has some adorable images.

For my design team projects, I choose to create a Candy Box and Gift Tag using the Mini Miss Loveheart pre-colored digital stamp from Hetty Clare.

For the gift tag, I used a die to cut out a large tag out of designer paper.  I used another die to cut out a mat from more designer paper.  I then fussy cut the image and used a mini Action Wobble to pop up Mini Miss Loveheart.

The candy box is an SVG cut that I've had for a while but unfortunately I am unable to remember where it came from.  The little box will hold 6 pieces of fun sized candies easily.

I hope you will join in the challenge at Paper Funday this month.  We would love to see your creations and we hope to inspire your creativity.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Make My Monday Challenge - Red, Pink and White

It's Monday and a new challenge starts today at Make My Monday.  The theme for the challenge this week is Red, Pink and White.  Since we are close to Valentine's Day, my design team project is a Valentine's Day card that incorporates all the colors in the theme.

The card measures a standard A2 with gorgeous papers from Recollections.  I die cut the heart and backed with red paper, then layered on top of a pink paper doily I had in my stash.  Finally, a few pink sequins were added for some bling.

We hope you will join us this week at Make My Monday Challenges; we are looking forward to seeing what you create with the theme colors.

Also, don't forget to visit the new challenge blog The Paper Funday Challenges this Wednesday for the announcement of the winners from the January challenge and for the start of Februarys' challenge.

Crafty Calendar Challenge - Chuck the Cherub

It's the first Saturday of the month and that means a new challenge at Crafty Calendar.  The sponsors for this month are Crafty Ribbons and Dr. Digi's House of Stamps.   There is a theme this month also:  Use Texture and Add a Ribbon.

For my design team project, I had the pleasure of using Dr. Digi's Chuck the Cherub digital image.  This Cherub is so funny, I don't understand why he's carrying a flashlight..possibly he's lost his bow and arrows?

This card measures 5" x 5", is a tent folding card with 2 ribbons; the white one is hard to see and with texture on the card stock; some of the stripes are glittered.  I've also added 3 pieces of card candy for more texture.

I hope you've been inspired to join us this month at Crafty Calendar, hope to see you there.
