Varada Sharma Designs Fuchsia and Hummingbird

Hello Friends, I'm back with a card created using the new Fuchsia and Hummingbird digital stamp from Varada Sharma Designs.  This image and sentiment are part of the larger Blooming for You April 2022 Release.

This image is so gorgeous and was an easy color using my Spectrum Noir Illustrator Alcohol Markers.  I've kept the card design sweet and simple; deciding on one layer with a black mat behind before adhering to a cardbase of 110 lb. Neenah Solar White Classic Crest card.

The sentiment is part of the Framed, which is another newly release set by Varada Sharma.  Lastly, I've added the lightest of the Purple Nights enamel dots by Kat Scrappiness to finish off the design.

Please visit the Varada Sharma Shop for more lovely digital sets.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Pammie's Inky Pinkies - Anything Goes

Happy Monday!  I trust your weekend was lovely and I hope you had some Crafting Time.  Today begins a new challenge week at Pammie's Inky Pinkies with the theme of Anything Goes.  Our Sponsor this round is the generous CAS_ual Friday's and for my design team project, I've used the stamp set "Floating" with a lovely hot air balloon but I fear this set may now be retired.  Never fear however, CAS_ual Friday's has lots of lovely sets on offer.

To start, I created a background using Dylusions Ink Sprays on watercolor card.  I spritzed the card with water to make the paper moist and then sprayed with 2 coordinating colors of Dylusions Ink Sprays; a blue and green.

After completely dry, I treated the watercolor panel with antistatic powder, then heat embossed the image and sentiment using fine detail white powder.  To finish the design, I've added White Rhinestones from Kat Scrappiness.

Please visit the Pammie's Inky Pinkies Challenge Blog and share your lovely projects with us.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Shake It Up with Kat Scrappiness

Hello and Happy Saturday!  I hope your plans for the weekend include some fun; we are attending a family wedding, looking forward to spending the night away from home and visiting with family members we don't get to see that often.

Today Kat Scrappiness is releasing some awesome Dimensional Shaker Card Elements and Stencils.  Please visit the Kat Scrappiness Blog for all the team inspiration.

For my Design Team projects, I've created 2 shaker cards using 2 of the new the dimensional shaker card elements and stencils.  My 1st card uses a Rose Shaker Kit and the Falling Hearts Stencil.  This is a standard A2 card (4.25 x 5.5) so you can see how big this particular shaker kit is.  The Shaker element is packaged as unfinished hardboard and includes the acetate with dimesional craft foam.

I've painted my elements using acrylic paint; I've heat embossed gold on this one.  I've also ink blended through the Falling hearts stencil with inks and Cosmic Shimmer Frosty Dawn Glitter Paste.

For my 2nd shaker card, I've used the Hourglass Element to create a Birthday Card.  Using the same techniques as the first, I've painted the hardboard with acrylic paint and stenciled through the Falling Starlights Stencil with inks and Cosmic Shimmer Frosty Dawn Glitter Paste.  This card is also a standard A2 size.

Kat Scrappiness has released several other Shaker Kit Elements; I'm only showcasing 2 so you will want to check out the team inspiration on the Blog HERE for examples of other shaker kits.  On the Blog, there is a Giveaway and 1 Random Winner will be picked from comments left on the blog post.

Also, today at 12 noon EST (USA), the team is hosting an Instagram Hop with loads more inspiration using the stencils and shaker kits.  Please visit the Kat Scrappiness Instagram Page HERE and start where you see this Hop Graphic.

Thanks so much for visiting today and until next time, Happy Crafting!

You Light Up the World!

Hello and Happy Wednesday!  Today, I'm sharing an Art Journal page I've created using images from Art by Marlene.  It's been a very long time since I've had a play and created a page for my journal, so I decided to get inky and create something colorful.

I cut a 5x7" piece of heavy watercolor card so I could adhere it into my journal as I typically do not use the actual pages in the journal.  The pages of the journal can handle the products but I prefer to use a separate piece of card and adhere to the journal page.

I've colored the panel with Dylusions Ink Sprays to create the base color and after completely dry, I started adding stamped images using Ranger Archival Inks in black and coordinating colors to the background.

I've splattered the dried panel with White and Black Acrylic sprays and after dry, I started adhering fun images from Art by Marlene, using Matte Gel Medium on top and bottom.  I wanted the images to become non porous so I could use my PITT Artist Markers later to add highlights and shading.

To finish up my art journal page, I've added a black border and some white highlights to the images with a White Gelly Roll Pen.  I hope to make more art journals in the future, it was so nice to just have a play with my inks and mixed media products.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

This is a bright and colorful photo prompt that can be intrepreted in so many ways.  You coud go with colors, a rainbow, anything water related, rainy days, Wellies, Unbrellas, etc.

I've colored the image using Spectrum Noir Illustrator Alcohol Markers and die cut the focal panel with a nesting postage stamp die from Catherine Pooler.  The Polka Dot paper is a snippet left from another project and the sentiment is from a very old Scrapbooking Queen Stamp set.

The sentiment was die cut with a nesting circle die from Hero Arts and popped on craft foam for dimension.  To finish the card, faux blue gems from Kat Scrappiness were added for additional interest and sparkle.

Build A Bouquet for Ukraine

Hello Friends and Happy Sunday.  Today's post features a card created using the Stampendous Build A Bouquet Cling Stamp Set.  This is an older set that I've had in my stash for quite some time.  I wanted to create something with the Ukraine in mind, so this set was perfect for that.

The card measures 5.5" square (one of my favorite square sizes) and the images have been colored using alcohol markers.  I've ink blended random sized strips of card and adhered to the card base, the sentiment die is one I've had in my stash a very long time as well; so long I do not remember how I came to have it, I believe it was gifted to me in a swap.

I fussy cut the images and adhered to the card base, popping up a bloom on craft foam for dimension.  Lastly, black gems and white highlights have been added for visual interest and this card is complete.

Thanks for visiting me today and until next time, Happy Crafting!

Varada Sharma April 2022 Release - Blooming for You

Hello and Happy Friday!  We've made it another week and today is a special day because it's New Release Day at Varada Sharma Designs.  This months' release is Blooming for You and it contains 8 new digital images, many sentiments and Cut Files!

For my Design Team project today, I've created a standard slimline card using the Slimline Cascading Florals and a sentiment from the Blooming for You Set.

I've colored the floral image using Spectrum Noir Illustrator Alcohol Markers, outlined the image with a thick black line and highlighted with dark gray.  I fussy cut the image and popped on craft foam for dimension.

I've cut a black frame to highlight the vivid florals and adhered flat to the cardbase of 110 lb. Neenah Solar White Classic Crest.  The sentiment was cut into a thin flag banner, curled/lifted in the middle and adhered with liquid adhesive.  Lastly, clear iridescent sequins were added for sparkle and shine.

You'll want to visit Varada Sharma Designs to see all the April Goodness included in this release, which can be seen HERE.  Also, the design team is having an Instagram Hop on the 12th of April to showcase more designs and inspiration, so mark your calendars for that - there will be a prize involved!

Lovely Daisies

Hello Friends and Happy Thursday!  Today, I'm sharing a bright and cheerful Spring Themed card created using the Altenew Lovely Daisies layering die set.

I didn't have cardstock in the colors I wanted to use so I set out to make my own using Catherine Pooler Inks and 80 lb. Neenah Card.  The layers were then die cut, the flowers were assembled and set aside to work on the background panel.

I die cut a mask of Gina K. Masking Magic using a scalloped oval die, adhered to card panel and ink blended light yellow ink over the card piece.  Catherine Pooler inks are reactive to moisture so I blotted the blending with a damp paper towel in order to get the splotchy look I was going for.

After the blended panel was completely dry, the sentiment was stamped using a dark charcoal ink and the florals were adhered.  Lastly, light lavender gems were added for sparkle and I called this card complete.

Thanks for visiting today.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Wedding Magnolias

Hello Crafty Friends and Happy Tuesday!  Monday April 4th saw the beginning of a new challenge month at Jan's Digi Stamps and also the release of 2 new digi stamp sets.  Jan released Wedding Magnolias and Best Wishes.  These are wonderful sets for the Spring Wedding Season or any time of year and occasion!

For my card today, I've used the Wedding Magnolias image to create an all occasion card.  Since this is a digital image, it can be resized to match your design needs and in this case, I wanted it to be large.

I've colored the image with alcohol markers and then fussy cut.  The background panel was ink blended with shades of blue distress oxide inks and splattered with water and white acrylic gloss spray to create an ethereal look and vibe.

This original image does not have the thin black lines contained on the leaves, those are doodles I've added for additional visual interest.  I've popped the floral image in craft foam for dimension and added faux gems in blue and clear for a bit of sparkle.  The sentiment wording and die cut are from Crafter's Companion.

The current challenge at Jan's Digi Stamps can be found HERE.  There's also a SALE at Jan's Shop where you can save 25%-50% on selected Digi Sets so you'll want to check that out as well.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!
