Classic Design Challenge #02-2024

Hello Crafty Friends, I'm back with my second post for this Thursday! Today begins a new challenge month at The Classic Design Challenge, where the theme is Always Anything Goes with an Optional Twist. The Twist this month is "I Love...". You can interpret the twist in a multitude of ways.  Our sponsors this challenge are Fred, She Said and Polkadoodles.

For my team project, I've used the "Emma in Her Cool Cap" image from Fred, She Said and colored the image using Prismacolor Pencils.  I've also incorporated the optional Twist in my design.  This is a card for one of my card swap buddies and I love my swap buddy friends!

The image was an easy color as there are not a lot of small spaces. I took the liberty to dress her up a bit by adding polkadots to her top using a white Posca Pen.  The patterned papers are from a 12x12 kit by Bo Bunny.  I only have card size snippets left so they worked perfectly for this layout.  The sketch is a freebie from Cardz TV (sketch #56)

I've fussy cut Emma and popped her on craft foam, along with the sentiment and the green landing strip.  To complete the design, I've added complimentary blue enamel dots.

I would like to invite you to pop over to the challenge blog and enter your design.  We love seeing all the creative ways everyone uses their crafty talents.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Beautiful Blossoms Challenge #14

Hello Friends and Happy Thursday!  I trust you had a wonderful Valentine's Day and had the opportunity to spend time with the one/ones you love.

Today begins a new challenge month at The Beautiful Blossoms Challenge Blog.  The theme is Always Anything Floral Goes with an Optional Mood Board used for Inspiration.  The mood board this month has an array of lovely colors:

For my design team project, I've used the digital stamp "Winter Flowers" from Alex Syberia Designs and colored the florals using Prismacolor Pencils.  This digital set contains a single image, which I've used here and a double image sized for an A2 card.

I've kept the overall design fairly simple, using a die cut sentiment and foiled background panel received from card swap buddies.  I've fussy cut the floral image, popped on craft foam and nestled it into the lower right hand corner.

The thick black border is dramatic, it's a card panel but appears as a frame.  In hindsight, I should have used a frame and saved myself some black cardstock.  To finish the design, I've added complimentary pink enamel dots.

I invite you to join us at The Beautiful Blossoms Challenge this month.  There is a lovely floral stamp set from Studio Katia up for grabs, and of course, we always love seeing everyone's floral designs.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

AYLI - I like Digi stamps primarily for storage.  As I've gotten older, I've tried to maintain a clean and simple craft space and digi's don't take up much room.

The Paper Funday Challenge #62 - February 2024

Hello Crafty Friends and Happy Wednesday!  Today begins a new challenge month at The Paper Funday Challenge Blog.  The theme is Always Anything Goes with an Optional Twist.  The Twist this month is:  No Patterned Paper.  Our sponsors for February are Sheepski Designs and Newton's Nook.

For my design team project, I've used the Wild Heart Rose Image No. 206 from Sheepski Designs and colored using Prismacolor Pencils.

I couldn't resist using beautiful floral patterned papers from Craft Consortium, so I did not incorporate the optional Twist into my design this time around.  The card measures 5.5" square, which is a nice size for mailing.

The sentiment is from a package of sentiment stickers that was gifted to me in a card swap.  Lastly, I've added faux crystal gems for a bit of bling; and to fill up an otherwise empty space on the banner.

Please join us at The Paper Funday Challenge this month, we are always delighted to see everyone's creativity.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Inspiration Station Challenge #58 - February 2024

Hello Crafty Friends and Happy Monday!  Today starts a new challenge month at The Inspiration Station Challenge Blog and we have a sweet inspiration photo for you:

I knew immediately I wanted to create a Galentine's Day card, using animals but not the typical puppies and kitties, but rather 2 adorable Cupid Bears from Di's Digi Stamps.

I've colored the images using Prismacolor Pencils, and tried to color in such a way as to give them "textured" fur.  I've die cut the focal panel with a fancy edged oval die and adhered flat to the card base.

The patterned paper is from a Recollections pack purchased at Michael's Craft Store acouple of years ago.  I've kept the design fairly simple, only adding a few enamel dots as accents.  These are simply the cutest little nuggets and they were easy to color.

Please join us at The Inspiration Station Challenge this month, there is a nice stamp set from Jane Davenport on offer, and you may just be a winner.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!
