Catch the Bug Sunday Sketch Challenge

Hello and Happy 4th of July to all my USA friends!  It's also Sunday and time for a new Sketch Challenge at Bugaboo Stamps Catch the Bug Challenge Blog.  Starting July 3rd, the Saturday Anything Goes and the Sunday Sketch challenges will now run for 1 month instead of bi-weekly.

The Sketch for this month is the following:

For my design team project, I created an A2 sized card and tried to stay true to the sketch as much as possible.

For my card, I colored the florals, which are components of the Izzy Flowers Mini Set, using Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers.  The Gingham paper is from an older Color Bok 6x6 paper pad, the Baker's Twine and Faux Gems from my stash.

Please jon us this month for the Sketch Challenge.  We would love to see your designs and hope to inspire you with ours.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

I've colored the image with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers, die cut the focal using a Slanted Stitch Circle Die from Pretty Pink Posh and the patterned paper is from an Echo Park Good Day Sunshine 6x6 paper pad.

I generated the sentiment on the computer and die cut using a stitched sentiment banner die from My Favorite Things.  Please join us for the challenge at Catch the Bug and remember, the Saturday Challenge is now Monthly so you have lots of time to enter!

Stella Says Sketch - Birthday Fishes

Hello my Crafty Friends!  Today begins a new Sketch Challenge at Bugaboo Stamps Catch the Bug Challenge Blog.  The sketch for the next 2 weeks is:

For my design team project, I used the sketch as inspiration to create a 5.5" square Birthday Card using the Make It Snappy Birthday Fishes image.

I colored the image with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers and mounted on a die cut Tag.  I also die cut Balloons, colored with alcohol markers and added Wink of Stella along with Judi Kins Diamond Glaze so they would have dimension, sparkle and shine.  The Image and Balloons are mounted on foam pads, the papers are from the American Crafts Everyday 6x6 paper pad and the additional sentiment is from a CTMH Petite Perks Treat Youself Stamp Set.

Friday Freebie - Ladybug and Vase

Hello and Happy Fri-YAY!  Today is Friday Freebie at the Bugaboo Stamps Catch the Bug Challenge Blog.  Todays Freebie is this cute Ladybug and Vase that will be available for free download until next Friday.

The image is simple in design so there are loads of possibilities to enhance it the way you would like.  I colored the image with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers, added black and white dots to the flower center and petals using Gelly Roll pens.  I also drew in leaf veins and dotted the lady bugs' eye with a Gelly Roll Pen.

I created my own plaid background paper with alcohol markers; drawing lines freehand.  Die cut the image and a detailed oval and popped both up on foam pads.  Lastly, gray enamel dots and twine were added for added interest.

Please stop by the blog today for your freebie image.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Bugaboo's Humor Me Wednesday: Gus' Golden Years

Hello and Happy Wednesday which means it's Humor Me Wednesday at Bugaboo's Catch the Bug Challenge Blog.  For my design team project, I created a Birthday card using the Gus Birthday Golden Years digi stamp.

I addition to Humor Me Wednesday, this card also celebrates "No One Eats Alone Day" which is February 12th.  Gus has a large cake so I'm sure he will share with his friends so he won't have to eat alone!

My card measures 5.5" square and the designer papers are from the Simple Stories "Let's Party" 12x12 paper pad.  I kept the card design simple, only adding some doodling and sequins.

Please visit us at Catch the Bug for some Humorous inspiration and don't forget to enter your makes in the Weekly Challenge every Saturday.  This week the theme is Anything Goes.

Bugaboo Saturday Challenge - Valentine's Jar

Hello and Happy Saturday!  I hope your past week was great and your weekend is better!  Today begins a new Saturday Weekly challenge at Bugaboo's Catch the Bug blog.  The theme for this week is Recipe:  1 Ribbon, 2 Buttons and 3 Layers.  For my design team project, I created an Aperture card featuring the Valentine Jar digital stamp (**this image is the Friday Freebie this week!).

I colored the image using my Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers and to create the aperture, I die cut an oval opening in the front of the card base and the layer.  I also die cut the focal image using the same oval die so it would be a perfect fit and adhered to the inside of the card, lining up with the aperture opening.  The designer papers are from the Recollections "Love and Devotion" 12x12 paper pad and were used for the front and inner panels.

For the Recipe Theme, I used 1 pink ribbon, 3 red pieces of card candy as I did not have small, red buttons and there are 3 layers.  The sentiment is from the Cardz TV "Mini Messages" stamp set and for a finishing touch, loads of Wink of Stella over the focal image (it's a shame the shimmer and sparkle doesn't show in the photos).

Please stop by Catch the Bug Challenge Blog and enter your make using the Recipe Theme, we would love to see what you create.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!
