Sweet Rudolph

Hi Friends and Happy Friday!  Today begins a new bi-weekly challenge round at The Colour Crazy Challenge Blog and our sponsor this round is the fun and quirky Mirtillamente.  For my project, I've colored up the Sweet Rudolph digital stamp, which was so generously provided by our sponsor.

My card measures 4.25" x 5.5" , as you can see, I've printed Rudolph quite large.  I wanted to keep the card design fairly simple and allow the image to take center stage.  This guy makes me laugh, especially with all those piercings...this is NOT the Rudolph I remember as a child...and how did he get Santa to agree to that?  Maybe it's Casual Friday!  LOL

I've colored the image using Spectrum Noir Illustrator Alcohol Markers.  After trimming the focal panel, I backed with a panel of red card and adhered to a card base of 110 lb. Neenah Classic Crest Solar White.

To complete my card, I've added red gems, touched the whipped cream, cake frosting and Rudolph's nose with Wink of Stella.  No matter how I position a card, I can never get the glittery Wink of Stella to show.  Lastly, I doodled a snowflake on the cocoa cup and added highlights using a white gel pen.

I hope you'll stop by the challenge, we would love to see what you create.  Are you still working on Christmas cards?  Me?  why yes I am.....next year I will start in July (however I say this every December *wink)

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Candy Cane Penguin

Hello Friends and Happy Friday!  We are SAFE from Hurricane Nicole and I can say that I now have Storm Fatigue (a term I heard on the news last night).  Enough with the Hurricanes please, Mother Nature!

Today begins a new bi-weekly challenge at The Colour Crazy Challenge Blog.  Our generous sponsor this round is Conie Fong and I had the pleasure of coloring up the precious Candy Cane Penguin, which was provided by our sponsor.

I'm in a festive mood, ready for the holidays and cannot wait to get the Christmas decor up.  It's been a tradition my entire life that we decorate for Christmas the weekend after the Thanksgiving holiday.  My husband growls every year when he is sent outside to hang Christmas lights and every year he rushes outside after dark to oooh and ahhh over how pretty they are.

I loved coloring this little guy using alcohol markers; he's an easy color and just so sweet. The designer patterned papers are from Kat Scrappiness and the sentiment comes with the image.

To finish the design, I've added silver sequins for that extra bit of sparkle and shine, all holiday cards need Bling...in my honest opinion.  Please visit us this round at The Colour Crazy Challenge and enter for your chance to win a prize from Conie Fong.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Colour Crazy Challenge - Signs of Autumn

Hello Crafty Friends and Happy Friday!  Today beings a new bi-weekly challenge round at The Colour Crazy Challenge Blog and our sponsor is Jan's Digi Stamps.  For my team project, I've colored an image from the Signs of Autumn digital set, provided by our sponsor.

I've chosen to create a Birthday card so if you have an Autumn Birthday - Happy Birthday to you.  I kept the design pretty simple, only using one sheet of designer paper from the Carta Bella "Hello Fall" 6x6 paper pad for a background panel.  To finish the design, I've added chocolate gems from Kat Scrappiness and punched the focal panel corners.

Please share your crafty and hand colored project with us at The Colour Crazy Challenge this round.  Hope to see you there and until next time, Happy Crafting!

Colour Crazy Craft Challenge - Marylin

Hi Crafty Friends and Happy Friday!  It's time for a new bi-weekly challenge at The Colour Crazy Challenge Blog and our sponsor this round is Mirtillamente.  For my team project, I've created a card using the Marylin digital stamp, graciously provided by our sponsor.  Marylin is part of the Mirtillamente Character Line and isn't she fun?

I've colored the image my Spectrum Noir Illustrator Alcohol Markers and the papers are snippets from Recollections and Polkadoodles.  I'm trying to use up scrap before I cut into a new piece of patterned paper, however I have so many 6x6 paper pads that I'm set until the year 2030 (and I keep buying more)!

I've also been following card sketch lately as I'm all out of fresh ideas for layouts.  This sketch is lossely based on a sketch from Cards by Kendra.  The focal image has been cut using a fancy edge stitched oval die and the sentiment is from Cardz TV set.

A few sequins have been added for sparkle and shine, it's a Miss Monroe look-alike after all!  Thanks for visiting me today.  Please stop by the challenge blog and play aloing.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Colour Crazy Challenge - Advanced Spells and Conjuring

Hi Friends and Happy Friday!  It's time for a new bi-weekly challenge at the Colour Crazy Challenge Blog.  Our sponsor this round is Dr. Digi's House of Stamps and I've used the Advanced Spells and Conjuring image for my design team project.

The image has been colored with alcohol markers and I've kept the design simple using only 2 layers behind the focal panel.  Also, everything has been adhered flat, no bells and whistles added either.
The sentiment was generated on the computer by me.

I've left the design without embellishments as I plan to mail to my brother-in-law for Halloween.  He like Wizards, Dragons, Gargoyles, etc so I thought this was right up his alley and he'll get a kick out of it.

Please visit us at The Colour Crazy Challenge this round, we would love to see all your hand colored or painted projects!

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Colour Crazy Challenge - Cheers to You , Ladies

Hello and Happy Friday!  Another week in the books and today starts a new bi-weekly challenge at Colour Crazy.  Our sponsor this round is the sweet Pattie's Creations and for my team project, I've colored up the Cheers to You, Ladies digital stamp.

This is a fun image and they remind me of "Ladies who Lunch", they've got their Martini's and I'm sure they have lots of fun together.  I've colored the images with alcohol markers and created the backgound panel using alcohol inks.

I've used a corner punch to create the look of a photograph matted with those old fashioned black corner pockets..remember those?  The sentiment strips are from Art by Marlene and I've added Glossy Accents to their Sunglasses for a bit of realism.

Please join us at The Colour Crazy Challenge this round and you maybe the lucky winner of images from Pattie's Creations.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Colour Crazy Challenge - Strawberry Fields

Hello and Happy Friday!  Today begins a new bi-weekly challenge at the Colour Crazy Challenge Blog and our sponsor this round is the Cute and Creepy Oddball Art Co.  For my team project, I've colored the Strawberry Fields Digi Stamp and created a 5.5" square Birthday card.

I die cut the focal image and mat using nesting circle dies from Kat Scrappiness.  The papers are a digital download set from Polkadoodles and the sentiment was computer generated by me.

I've followed a card sketch I found by Googling "Square Card Sketches".  I utilize sketches when I've run out of ideas and my card layouts start looking the same.  I love this image, it's nicely drawn and an easy color.

I popped the main focal image and sentiment strips on craft foam for dimension and added light blue gems for a finishing touch.  It's hard for me to call a card finished without adding gems and enamel dots, what are your "must haves" on your projects?

Please visit us at Colour Crazy this round, we so enjoy seeing all the entries.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Macaron Pets - The Colour Crazy Craft Challenge

Hello Friends and Happy Friday!  Today begins a new challenge at The Colour Crazy Challenge Blog and the theme is Always Anything Goes as long as it's handcolored.  This round is Just for Fun and for my team project, I've used the Macaron Pets Stamp and Coordinating Die Set from Not 2 Shabby to create a 5.5" square card.

This stamp and die set were part of a monthly subscription through the Not 2 Shabby Shop and were available while supplies lasted.  The Macaron Pets are adorable and an easy color because they are large with thicker lines.  I've colored using Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers, die cut using the coordinating dies, and popped each Pet on craft foam for dimension.

The center circle was die cut from an ink smooshed panel I had left over from another project.  I wanted something to "ground" the images and break up all the white.  The only Bells and Whistles added was a bit of Wink of Stella to the Macaron filling on each Pet.  The sentiment is also from the stamp set and comes with a coordinating die as well.

Please join us at The Colour Crazy Craft Challenges; there are 2 challenges going on simultaneously so plenty of opportunity to get in on the fun!

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

I've kept this card quite simple, allowing the sweet image to take center stage.  I've colored with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers and the designer paper is from American Crafts.

The panels have been adhered flat to the cardbase using liquid adhesive and I've added enamel candy dots for additional interest.

That's my card for today and i hope you'll join us the round at the Colour Crazy Blog.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Colour Crazy Challenge - Sheepski Designs

Hello and Happy Fri-YAY!  A new challenge round has started at The Colour Crazy Challenge Blog with a theme of Anything Goes and the sponsor is Sheepski Designs.

For my design team project, I've created a Birthday Tag using the Gerbera Daisy digi stamp from Sheepski.  Gerbera Daisies are usually brightly colored, however for my project, I've chosen a Coral color palette.

I've cut a large tag using a tag die from Gina K. Designs and the patterned papers were gifted to me in a card swap. The focal panel was cut using an oval die and popped on craft foam, then adhered using liquid adhesive.  The sentiment is from an older Kaisercraft sentiment set; an oldie but definitely a goodie.

Lastly, Spring Green Pearl Embellishments from Kat Scrappiness have been added along with metallic thread from Altenew.

Stop by the Colour Crazy Challenge Blog and enter your project for an opportunity to win a prizw from Sheepski Designs.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Hello and TGIF!  Today begins a new fortnightly challenge at the Colour Crazy Challenge Blog.  Our sponsor this week is the generous and talented Hetty Clare.

My design team project features the Hetty Clare Merry Christmouse digital stamp.  The sentiment has been generated by me, on my computer.

I've colored the images with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers and kept the design simple, only using a black mat behind the focal panel.

I added Wink of Stella and Crystal Stickles for the necessary sparkle and shine; it's so hard to pick up in the photos.  The image is adorable; a Gray Mouse Couple having a glass of the holiday bubbly to celebrate a Happy Christmas!

Colour Crazy Challenge - Polkadoodles

Happy Fri-YAY Crafty Friends!  Today begins a new challenge on the Colour Crazy Challenge Blog and our sponsor this week is Polkadoodles.  For my design team project, I've created a Fairy Tale card using the Winnie Belle of the Ball Fairy Tale Digital Stamp and papers from the Once Upon a Time 12x12 paper stack by DCWV.

My card measures 5.5" square, I've colored the image using Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers and die cut the focal image using a Fancy Scallop Die from Alina Craft.

Since Winnie is the Belle of the Ball, I felt lots of Sparkle and Shine were appropriate.  The paper has a glittery edge, I've added Gold Wink of Stella to her Crown and gems from Kat Scrappiness.  I've also heat foiled the sentiment strip using a snippet of Thermoweb Prism foil sheet and my laminator.

We hope you'll stop by the challenge and enter for your chance to win some Polkadoodles digital stamps.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Colour Crazy Challenge with Star Jam Lines

Hello Crafty Friends and Happy Friday!  Today begins a new challenge at The Colour Crazy Challenge and our sponsor for this round is Star Jam Lines.

For my design team project, I colored up this adorable Flying Gnome with Ballon digital stamp using my Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers.

This image isn't necessarily a Holiday Image but I created a Christmas Card with it.  The set includes an image with Nordic Patterned hat or plain hat and I chose to work with the plain hat.  I also printed out an extra balloon.

The papers are from a very old American Crafts Holiday 6x6 paper pad, which I only have snippets left.  I die cut and embossed a circle with a Clouds folder from Darice and hilighted with blue ink to bring out the clouds.  I also die cut the cross-stitched heart and the chevron paper mat and fussy cut Mr. Gnome.  The sentiment is from yet another older set from Stampendous; Christmas Visions.  Lastly, I've added Silver Rhinestone embellishements from Kat Scrappiness.

Please join us at The Colour Crazy Challenge for your chance to win some cute images from Star Jam Lines.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Colour Crazy Challenges - Angie Blom

Hello Friends and Happy Friday!  Another week in the books, it sure flew by didn't it?  Today begins a new challenge at the Colour Crazy Challenge Blog with a theme of Anything Goes.  The fabulous Angie Blom Digital Designs is our sponsor this round and I couldn't be happier; I love her images!

For my design team project, I colored up one of the Coolest Chicks Ever images.  This digital package contains 4 digi images and 5 sentiments.  Check this Chick out - say that 5 times fast!

This was an easy make as I left this chicks' body white, only adding the shading.  I colored with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers, mounted on a black mat, masked the image and sentiment, then added black splatters for interest.

For a final touch, I added Wink of Stella to the flower and had a bit of an accident....the Wink leaked!  Ugggg, but I managed to mop it up so it wasn't too much of a disaster...I don't think anyone will know...only you and I.

Please join us at The Colour Crazy Challenge this week for your chance to win some Angie Blom images.  We hope to inspire you with our projects and would love to see your designs.

Colour Crazy Challenge - Digi Doodle Studios

Hello and Happy Fri-YAY!  Today begins a new challenge at the Colour Crazy Craft Challenge and my last project as a Guest Design Team Member.  The sponsor this round is Digi Doodle Studios and I had the pleasure of using the Sammi Skater Bear digi stamp for my design team project.

This little Guy is perfect for a Holiday card so I created a Tent Topper 4" x 5" note card.  I colored the image with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers and the DSP is from the American Crafts Holiday 6x6 paper pad.  For a Final touch, I added sequins for that bit of holiday sparkle and a piece of cute polka dot ribbon.  I created the sentiment on the computer, backed with a piece of black card and popped up on foam pads so it would straddle the ribbon.

I've had a wonderful time being a Guest Designer on the Colour Crazy Craft Challenge and it was such an honor to be invited.  I encourage everyone to visit the challenge and enter your creations, it's a great challenge.
