Paper Funday Challenge #86 - April 2026

Hello Crafty Friends and Happy April 1st, also known as April Fool's Day here in the States. This year is moving along at record speed and I hope you're experiencing the full effects of Spring.

Today begins a new challenge month at The Paper Funday Challenge Blog and we have 2 amazing and generous sponsors:  Birch Press Design and Newton's Nook Designs.  The Challenges are Always Anything Goes with an Optional Twist.  The twist this month is Die Cuts/Punches.

For my team project, I've used the Tulips Stamp Set from Newton's Nook and also included die cuts to tie the optional twist into my design.

I've colored the image using Spectrum Noir Tri-blend Alcohol Markers; I should have used the Copics as these markers are drying out and probably need to be put in the bin.  The plaid paper is from the "Summer Splash" 6x6 paper pad by Pink & Main, the fancy edged nesting oval dies are from Hero Arts, the enamel dots and string are from my stash,

The sentiment and main focal panel have been popped on foam pads for dimension.  I think this card just sings SPRING!  We hope you'll stop by the Challenge and join us this month by sharing your creative and inspiring makes.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

A Pilgrim and a Turkey!

Happy Tuesday Friends!  Wow, it's turned Artic Cold here in Florida, we woke to 36F and that's too cold for us beach bums.  It's Veteran's Day here in the States, and we honor all those who serve in our military, both enlisted and the families who support them.

I've got a quick share for you today featuring 2 comical characters dressed up for the Thanksgiving Day Feast.

These two are from the "Talk Turkey" Stamp Set by Newton's Nook, which was a Stamptember Collaboration with Simon Says Stamp a couple years ago.  Would you believe this is the 1st time inking them up?  I should be ashamed!

I've colored them using Copic Alcohol Markers and fussy cut.  The patterned paper is from the "It's Autumn" 6x6 paper pad by Carta Bella, the focal panel was cut using nesting Hexagon Dies from Hero Arts and the sentiment is from the same stamp set.

I've popped the characters on foam pads, along with the sentiment.  Lastly, I've added enamel dots to accent the sentiment.  In true Cat Style, Newton doesn't appear too pleased to be wearing this fancy headdress!  On the other hand, his Pup Friend doesn't seem to be bothered.

That's all from me today and I wish you a fabulous day.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Talk Turkey to Me

Happy Sunday Funday Everyone!  I have a quick share featuring the cutest Turkey I've ever see!  He's part of the Turkey Digital Bundle by Conie Fong and he's ready for Thanksgiving Dinner - not as the main course but as a Guest at the Table.

I've colored him using Copic Alcohol Markers and die cut the panel using a scalloped edge nesting die.  The patterned papers are from the "Welcome Fall" 6x6 paper pad by Carta Bella, and the glitter paper is from a 6x6 glitter pad from Recollections.

The Sentiment is from the "Talk Turkey" Stamp set by Newton's Nook, and was a Stamptember 2023 collaboration with Simon Says Stamp.  I've used a hexagon nesting die to cut out the sentiment.

I hope you have an amazing day and week ahead.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Paper Funday Challenge #59

Hello Friends and Happy Wednesday!  Today begins a new challenge month at The Paper Funday Challenge Blog.  Our themes are Always Anything Goes with an Optional Twist.  The Twist this month is Grateful, Thankful, Thank You.  We have 2 great sponsors also, Newton's Nook and Laurie Furnell Designs.

For my project this month, I've created a festive Holiday card in true Florida Style - Festive Flamingos from Newton's Nook.  I couldn't find this set on their site, it may be retired, I'm not certain. I've had this set for a few holiday seasons now.

I've kept the design CAS and highlighted the Pink theme with a bit of ink blending using a circle mask from Lavinia Stamps.  I've colored this pair using my Prismacolor Pencils.

I've added Wink of Stella to their Hats, a few enamel dots and black/white Baker's Twine.  I like how the Baker's Twine and black mat breaks up the "pinkness" of the card.

Please join us at the challenge!  We hope you'll be inspired by our designs, so until next time, Happy Crafting!

Blue Tulips

Hello Friends and Happy Wednesday!  It's the 1st Wednesday of the month and that always signals a new challenge month at The Paper Funday Challenge Blog.  Our generous sponsors this month are Newton's Nook and QKR Stampede.  The Optional Twist is:  Lot's of Layers.

For my project, I've used the sweet Tulips Stamp Set from Newton's Nook.  I've not personally seen blue tulips, maybe there are some in Holland but in the crafting world, we can create any color of flower we want!

I've been trying to expand my skills with colored pencils and not always grab my alcohol markers, so I've colored this image with my Prismacolor Pencils.  I've kept the design sweet and simple, after coloring I lightly blended blue ink over the background.

Before mounting the panel on a black mat, I splattered with diluted blue and white ink sprays.  Lastly, I've added blue gems for a bit of sparkle and shine.  We hope to see you at The Paper Funday this month.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Inspiration Station Challenge #42 - Bountiful Harvest / Let's Eat!

Hello and Happy Monday!  Today begins a new bi-weekly challenge round at The Inspiration Station Challenge and our inspiration photo features a lovely array of some very delicious foods!

Naturally, I was inspired by all the food on the table.  I could have created a Thanksgiving Holiday card but I've finished all my Autumn/Thanksgiving cards and have moved on to Christmas, however I love sending uplifting cards, and I love Newton's Nook, so this is what I've created.

It's Newton, head first in a Picnic Basket!  The image and sentiments are from the Newton's Picnic Basket stamp set and I've colored using Spectrum Noir Illustrator Alcohol Markers.

I've kept the design sweet and simple, allowing the image to take center stage.  I've used just one snippet of patterned paper from the Bo Bunny "Kiss the Cook" 6x6 paper pad.  I dug out the old skool corner punches for the focal panel, backed with black card and popped on craft foam for dimension.

To finish the card, I've added clear gems, after all, it just wouldn't be one of MY cards without those gems!  Please join us at The Inspiration Station Challenge, we love seeing how the inspiration photo inspires your projects.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

The Paper Funday Challenges - QKR Sunflower

Hello Crafty Friends and Happy Wednesday!  Today begins a new challenge month at The Paper Funday Challenge Blog and our sponsors this month are QKR Stampede and Newton's Nook Designs!  The theme is Always Anything Goes and this month's optional Twist is:  Thinking of You.

For my design team project, I've used the Sunflower Digital Stamp from QKR Stampede and a card sketch from Mojo Monday to create an Autumn themed card.

I've printed the image 3 times, colored with alcohol markers and die cut using nesting circle dies from Kat Scrappiness.  The papers are from the Carta Bella "Hello Fall" 6x6 paper pad.

The larger flower in the middle has been popped on craft foam for dimension and I've added chocolate gems from Kat Scrappiness for additional interest.  The sentiment is from the Cardz TV Potpourri Stamp Set.  I've added fancy corners to the sentiment and patterned paper strips using a decorative corner punch.

Please join us at the challenge this month, we hope to see your lovely projects.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Pammie's Inky Pinkies Challenge - Narly Mermaid

Hello Everyone and Welcome Back!  It's a new challenge week at Pammie's Inky Pinkies and our sponsor this challenge is Newton's Nook.  For my team project, I've created a fun card using the Narly Mermaids Stamp set from Newton's Nook (this set may now be retired as I was unable to find it in the shop).  I did locate it at The Frantic Stamper HERE.

To create my card, I started by stamping the little images included in the stamp set to create a background panel.  I decided to keep the panel black and white.  I've die cut an oval panel using a die from Alina Crafts and stenciled using the Waves Stencil from Sugar Pea Designs and Distress Oxide Inks.

To give the water scene more interest, I've splattered the panel lightly with water.  Distress Oxide Inks are water reactive, so the results were "bubbles".  After the oval was dry, I stamped the sentiment directly to the die cut and weaved Baker's Twine through the fancy scalloped edge.

The mermaid was colored using alcohol markers and has been adhered flat to the panel.  The panel has been popped on craft foam for dimension and clear sequins added for additional "bubbles".

Please join in the fun at Pammie's Inky Pinkies this week...you just may be a winner!

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Best in Show

Hi Crafty Friends!  It's the 1st Wednesday of the Month and that signals a new monthly challenge at The Paper Funday Challenge Blog.  The theme is Always Anything Goes with an Optional Twist.  The Twist this month is:  Use Green and Gold.  Our generous sponsors are Newton's Nook Designs and Eureka! Stamps.

For my design team project, I've used the Terrific Terriers Stamp and Coordinating Die Set from Newton's Nook to create an A2 sized card.  This set is Retiring so I suggest hopping over to Newton's Nook ASAP and pick it up before it's gone forever.

These adorable Yorkies have been colored with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers and the designer papers are from the DCWV "Playful Pets" 6x6 mat stack.  The Pups and Blue Ribbon have been popped up with craft foam for dimension.

No extra Bells and Whistles have been added as there is a lot going on with the patterns.  I do have the Twist elements in my design:  the green oval die cut with gold foiling.

Please join us this month at The Paper Funday Challenges.  We would love to see your designs and we hope to inspire you with ours.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Pammie's Inky Pinkies - Sunshine

Hello and Happy Monday!  It's the 5th Monday of the Month and that signals a "themed" challenge at Pammie's Inky Pinkies.  The theme this week is Sunshine...which is what many have been asking for since the weather has been cold and dreary.  It's been cold in Florida...colder than we are used to but it could be worse.....at least we're not dealing with snow and ice!

The sponsor this round is Newton's Nook and I've used the Newton's Day Dream Stamp set to create my Design Team card for this challenge round.

I've inked through a Sun Ray stencil on a panel of patterned paper to create the sunny background.  Newton has been colored with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers and fussy cut along with the speech bubble.

To break up the bright yellow and "ground" the image, I've adhered flag banners and doodled them with "stitching lines".  I've popped up the speech bubble and Daydreaming Newton on craft foam for that dimension I like and lastly, added blue sequins for additional interest and shine.

Please join us this week at Pammie's Inky Pinkies and share your crafty Sunshine themed projects.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Inspiration Station Challenge #16 - Pumpkin Patch

Hello Everyone and Happy Monday!  I hope you're all well and had a great weekend.  Today starts a new bi-weekly challenge at The Inspiration Station and the inspiration photo is one that can be intrepreted so many ways:

For my design team project, I intrepreted the photo as A Day at the Pumpkin Patch and I'm in Autumn crafting mode so why not create an Autum themed card!  I used the Newton's Nook "Paw-tumn Newton" Stamp Set to create a 5" square card.

I've colored the images with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers, papers are from the Echo Park "Celebrate Autumn" 6x6 paper pad, sentiment is from the same Newton's Nook set and sequins are from the Kat Scrappiness "Chocolate Sprinkles" embellishment pack.

This is a darling little set with a great price point.  It's new to me this season but I'm sure I'll be using it again before Autumn ends.

Please join us at The Inspiration Station for your chance to win 3 digi images from Di's Digi Stamps.  We hope to inspire you with our designs and would love to see your intrepretation of the inspiration photo.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Pammie's Inky Pinkies Challenge - Newton's Nook

Hello and Happy Monday!  For those in the States, I hope your 4th of July Holiday was filled with food, family and fun!  Today begins a new challenge at Pammie's Inky Pinkies with an Anything Goes theme.  We have the fun Newton's Nook as our sponsor and I created my design team project using the Terrific Terriers Stamp and Coordinating Die set.  This is a retiring set so if you like it, head over to Newton's Nook and grab it before they are gone forever.

I colored this sweet pup with my Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers and die cut with the coordinating die.   I also die cut ovals and a stitched, scalloped border die from My Favorite Things.  The patterned paper is part of a digital set from Scrapbook Gems on Etsy.

I popped the oval on foam pads for dimension and using Dina Wakely Gloss Acrylic Spray,  I added splatters for additional interest.

Please join us this week at Pammie's Inky Pinkies for your chance to win a Gift Certificate to Newton's Nook!

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Pammie's Inky Pinkies - Newton's Nook

Hello and Happy Monday...the 1st Monday of 2021.  I hope you had a wonderful holiday season and ready to tackle the New Year.  Today starts a new challenge at Pammie's Inky Pinkies with the theme being Anything Goes.  The sponsor for this challenge is Newton's Nook.

For my design team project, I did not use a Newton's Nook image, instead using some Decoupage Sheets that were gifted to me for the holiday and I created a See Through Easel Card for the New Year.

This printable can be found on Card Making Downloads as a Freebie.  It's a decoupage kit and is quite stunning.  I printed out on matte photo paper and fussy cut all the images in the kit.  This did take some time but I enjoy fussy cutting. I added foam pads to the elements and kept stacking each on top of another until I liked the design.  The kit also contains a matching envelope, which I also put together.  The finished card and envelope measure approximately 5.5"x5" when standing and folds flat for mailing.

The sentiment is from the Mini Messages stamp set from Cardz TV, no other bells and whistles except for a bit of Wink of Stella.  I love working with decoupage kits, especially when I'm short on inspiration and have the patience for fussy cutting.

Please join us this week for the challenge, we would love to see your projects and until next time, Happy Crafting!

Pammie's Inky Pinkies - Anything Goes

Hello everyone and thanks for visiting.  Today begins a new challenge at Pammie's Inky Pinkies with a theme of Anything Goes.  Pammie is sponsoring this round with a Gift Certificate to  Newtons Nook for the winner.  What a Great Prize!

For my design team project, I created a Spooky Halloween card using stamps and matching die cuts from the new Gina K. Designs Haunts and Harvest set.

The designer papers are from the DCWV "Witches Brew" 6x6 mat stack.  I die cut a circle and created a dotted background with finger daubers, a new pencil eraser and distress inks.  I also cut 2 banners out of the designer papers.  I heat embossed the Kitty and the Bats for that extra shine and boldness but it's hard to see that in the photo.  Finally, I added a few Orange Sequins for that sparkle and shine.  I think this Kitty is too cute to spook!

Please join us this week at Pammie's Inky Pinkies and enter your creations for a chance to win an awesome prize to spend at Newton's Nook.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!
