Just for You Wreath

Hello and Happy Tuesday Evening....yes, it's evening at the time of this posting, I've just had the opportunity to share today's make.  It was a quick and easy Note Card measuring 5" square with a little back story to go along with it:

A few months ago, the Hubby talked me into going with him to a local Flea Market and Swap Meet.  After walking a few aisles, I came across an elderly couple that had what appeared to be loads of crafting supplies on their tables.  I found a box of silicone stamps sets that, of course, were not of great quality but I thought, why not.  I'll go through them and what I don't want, I'll gift to the Hospice Charity Shoppe.  I also just wanted to contribute to the couple; they were so sweet.

I paid practically nothing ($20 US) and the box must have contained at least 50 small sets of various stamps.  I used the Wreath Builder Templates from Gina K. Designs to create a small floral wreath with one of the sets in the box.  I colored the images with my Alcohol Markers, used an embossing pen to apply embossing ink to the center of the flowers so I could emboss them with Gold powder.  For a final touch, I added 3 pieces of card candy and called this little notecard complete.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

A Bouquet of Happy Thoughts

Hello and Happy Monday!  I hope all is well with you and yours and your weekend was awesome!

Today I would like to share a card I put together yesterday, while sitting at my craft table watching the rain come down outside my window.  I needed something cheery and bright so I used this image from Delicious Doodles to create a 6" square card.  I will send it out in a card swap I'm registered for in August.

I colored the image with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers and used an older stamp set I had in my stash from the Royal Castle Shoppe.  I have a set of three bow dies; 3 different sizes so I chose the medium sized bow die cut and thought it came out the perfect size.  I added some card candy and called it complete.

I hope you were inspired by my bright and cheery Poppy Card.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Teal. Blue and White Shabby Chic Card with Matching Box

Hello Everyone and Happy Wednesday!

Today I'm sharing the last of the matching cards and boxes I recently created.  This was a quick project using Prima Marketing designer papers, die cuts, faux pearls, floral accents from Wild Orchid Crafts, Tonic Studios Nuvo Crystal drops and stained seam binding.

The card measures 4.5" x 5.5"; a standard A2 size.  The box is slightly larger than the card for a good fit; it's 1/2 " deep.  I chose to use a satin ribbon from my stash for the box instead of seam binding.  Maybe in hindsight, I should have went with the seam binding for the box.

I hope you enjoyed my quick project share for today and until next time, Happy Crafting!

Havana

Today I would like to share a card I created using the Havana papers from Prima Marketing, Inc.  This is a lovely paper pack with soft, pastel colors and wonderful images.  I'm not sure how to describe this card; I want to call it an Easel card however it's not like a standard Easel.

This is a standard A2 size card (4.25" x 5.5").  I used an unbranded die for the clock image and circle background; added color with alcohol markers.  I then added die cuts of dandelions  inside and inked them with Tim Holtz Distress Oxide ink in the color Peacock Feathers.

The colors are soft and shabby chic.

I created a tag and used an unbranded stamp for the sentiment.  I purchase many of my unbranded dies and stamps from AliExpress.  I have been pleased with everything I have received from AliExpress thus far.  When you're on a budget, AliExpress is kind to the pocketbook.

All You Need Is Love....this is yet another unbranded stamp from AliExpress.  I love the meaning behind the sentiment and thought it matched the beauty of the Havana papers.

I hope you enjoyed my card today.  Till next time, Happy Crafting!

It's Birthday Time

Today I'm sharing these adorable digital images I recently purchased from Bugaboo Stamps.  I created Birthday cards and I do believe the lady in the bikini is my favorite!

I downloaded the digis from Bugaboo and uploaded to Cricut Design Space.  I then used the Cricut to print and cut the images.  I added color to the images with colored pencil and used mineral spirits to blend the color.

I used Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink in Salty Ocean to color the mat under the Beach Lady, used a polka dot patterned paper for the cake and ran 2 different pieces of cardstock through my Cuddlebug using 2 different embossing folders for the coffee cup.  I mounted everything on card bases that measures 4.5" x 5:5"; a standard A2 size card.

I'm pleased with how they turned out - they were a fun project.

Watercolor Illustrations: Fruits and Veggies

Hello Everyone!  I hope all is well with you and yours!

I am creating watercolor illustrations of fruits and veggies with the thought of framing them and hanging around my kitchen.  They are small , measuring approximately 5" x 5".  I wonder if I should have made them bigger......or purchase a large frame and add more than one inside the frame.

Honestly, I'm very new to this medium (watercolor) and was frightened to go any larger than 6" x 6".  I've got to get out of my comfort zone and just go for it!!  I sketched all the images, using the inspiration I found by googling pics of watercolor fruits and veggies.   I hope you can tell what they are :p

The illustrations measures approx. 4.5" x 5".  I used the Tansai Gambi watercolors on Canson 140 lb. watercolor paper.  Stay tuned for more fruits and veggies!

It's Springtime!

I love the Spring....Pretty flowers, fresh air, baby bunnies, chicks, ducklings...and of course rain showers.

I created this Spring Themed card using my Cricut Cutting Machine and the Nate's ABC's cartridge (which is also available on Design Space for those who have the subscription).  I used 110 lb Neenah Solar White cardstock for the base and clouds along with various cardstock papers for the design elements.

I love to paper piece...it's kinda my thing for this moment so this card was a delight to put together.  The boots, umbrella, puddle and cat tail were all paper pieced creating lots of layers and dimension.
