Creep It Real

Hi Friends and Happy Monday!  Today begins a new challenge round at Pammie's Inky Pinkies.  Pammie is offering a gift voucher to My Favorite Things so you'll want to stop by and play along.

For my project, I've used patterned papers and ephemera from the Echo Park "Spooky" collection.  I've also followed a sketch from Kendra's Card Challenges.

This card was created during the 1st night of Hurricane Ian.  I needed something to focus on and something that didn't require a lot of preparation, in case we lost electricity.

I had the paper pad and ephemera in my stash so I thought creating Halloween cards just following sketches and cutting paper was safe enough.

The Spooky Collection has lots of cute ephemera and papers.  The only bells and whistles added were some iridescent sequins to break up the otherwise drab tones. I love the pop of color with the Skeleton's Bow Tie.

Please visit us this week at the challenge blog, we would love to have you!  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Hello Friends and Happy Saturday!  It's New Release Day at Varada Sharma Designs.  The Fun Times Release for October 2022 contains some lovely images for Autumn, Halloween and Diwali.  There are SVG cutting files included in this release as well.

For my project today, I've used the Gnome Witch digital image; part of the Halloween 2022 set,  but went with an Autumn theme.  The designer papers are from the Carta Bella Fall Market 6x6 paper pad.

I've colored Ms. Gnome Witch using alcohol markers, fussy cut and popped on foam tape for dimension.  The background panel is from the Mini Creative Pad - Wood by P13.

I've added Chocolate Gems from Kat Scrappiness and Twine with Gold Thread from Spellbinders.  The Candy Corn is from Brach's and yes....after photographing, I ate them!

The Paper Funday Challenge - October 2022

Hello Friends and Happy Wednesday!  It's time for a new challenge month at The Paper Funday Challenge Blog.  Our theme is Always Anything Goes with an Optional Twist.  This month, the twist is:  It's All About the Candy.  Our generous sponsors are Jan's Digi Stamps and The Colour of Love.

For my project, I've colored up the Candy Corn digital images from the Candy Corn Witch Digital Set by Jan's Digi Stamps.  This set was released 01 October and is currently on Sale.

The images have been colored using Spectrum Noir Illustrator Alcohol Markers, the papers are from the Echo Park "Spooky" 6x6 paper pad and the sentiment is included in the digital stamp set.

I've followed a sketch from My Favorite Things, I've been relying on sketches lately and have found it quite enjoyable.  Just 3 purple sequins and 1 tiny bat (on the end of the sentiment strip) have been added for bells and whistles.

Please join us this month at The Paper Funday Challenge.  We would love to see if you are inspired to use the Optional Twist of:  It's All About the Candy.

Polkadoodles Digi Choosday - Winston Bear

Hi Friends and Happy Tuesday!  I'm so happy to be back to the Internet; Hurricane Ian took out our Internet Service, flooded my back room addition, downed a tree and part of our privacy fence and ripped shingles off the roof.  Parts of our neighborhood are still flooded but we are starting to get back to normal here and my stress level is way down!

Today begins a new bi-weekly challenge at the Polkadoodles Digi Choosday Challenge Blog.  The team is featuring projects with an Autumn flair however the theme of our challenges is Always Anything Goes!

For my project, I've used the Winston Bear Get in Touch digi stamp to create a sweet Autumn Wishes card.

I've colored Winston using Spectrum Noir Illustrator Alcohol Markers, fussy cut and popped him on craft foam for dimension.  The Autumn papers are from the Echo Park "Celebrate Autumn" 6x6 paper pad and the sentiment has been generated on the computer by me.  I followed a sketch from an older Cards by Kendra Challenge.

Please join us at Polkadoodles, we hope to see you there.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Inspiration Station Challenge #39 - Trick or Treat

Hello Friends!  It's Monday and today begins a new bi-weekly challenge round at The Inspiration Station Challenge Blog.  The photo prompt this challenge is:

We still get Trick or Treaters in my neighborhood and we have several homes that decorate their porches and lawns.  Our dear friends to the west of us go all out with decorating and I look forward to seeing what they come up with each year.  This photo inspired me to use a darling Halloween set I've had in my stash since last season but not used before.

I've used the Llama Halloween Stamp Set from Darcie's Heart and Home to create a standard A2 sized card.  This little Trick or Treater has been colored using alcohol markers and the designer papers are from the Echo Park "Trick or Treat" 6x6 paper pad.  The sentiment is included in the stamp set.

The orange mat has been dry embossed using an older Halloween Embossing Folder from Darice.  I wanted the images to stand out so I lightly inked over the embossing with Unicorn White Ink from Hero Arts.  The focal image has been die cut using nesting circle dies from Kat Scrappiness and to complete the design, I've added sequins from a Halloween Mix, also from Kat Scrappiness.

Please join in the fun at The Inspiration Station this challenge round.  We always enjoy seeing how the photo inspires.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

The Four Seasons Challenge - Autumn Month 2

Hello Friends and Happy October 1st!  It's time for a new challenge month at The Four Seasons Challenge Blog and we're entering the 2nd month of Autumn themes.

It's the month of things that go bump in the night and my project features layered stenciling using the Spooky Icons layering stencil from Simon Says Stamp.

This is a 4 piece stencil set and is actually easy to layer up, plus I adore the fun images!  I chose traditional Halloween colors using Catherine Pooler inks.  Catherine Pooler Inks are my favorite at the moment and I've used vivid colors from the Party Collection line.

My card measures 5.5" square, which is my favorite square size to create as I can use most of a 8.5" x 11" sheet of card.  I've added a black mat, tied some black twine, and added some shine with sequins.  The sentiment is the Happy Halloween Die Sentiment with shadow from Kat Scrappiness, the shadow layer was cut from vellum.

Please visit us at The Four Seasons Challenge this Month.  We are always excited to see your makes and visit your posts.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Varada Sharma Designs - Daisies and Bleeding Hearts

Hello Crafty Friends and Happy Friday!  It's hard to believe this is the last day of September.  My favorite time of year is fast approaching, I love the holidays in the month of October, November and December.  So many projects to make, so little time.

Today, I've went almost Spring/Summer with a card featuring the Daisies and Bleeding Hearts digital image from Varada Sharma Designs.

I've colored the image using alcohol markers and kept the florals a more traditional color.  The sentiment is from the Heartfelt Sentiments Set from Varada Sharma.  The papers are from an older paper stack from The Paper Studio.

I wanted the card to be bright and cheerful, I will put it away until I need a Get Well Card or a Note to brighten someone's day.

Thanks for stopping by and until next time, Happy Crafting!

Pammie's Inky Pinkies Challenge - Autumn Blessings

Hello Crafty Friends and Happy Monday!  I trust your weekend was fabulous and you had time to do soemthing you enjoy.  It's time for a new challenge at Pammie's Inky Pinkies and our sponsor this week is Beccy's Place.  For my team project this round, I've colored a digital image from the Autumn Blessing Digital Set provided by our sponsor.

This is such a lovely Autumn image and I've colored it using alcohol markers.  I've kept the design very sweet and simple, allowing the image to take center stage.

Not many bells & whistles added however I did add 3 gold gems from Kat Scrappiness and the sentiment is from a Simons Says Stamp sentiment strip pack, containing Thanksgiving and Autumn related sentiments.

Please join us at Pammie's Inky Pinkies this week and enter your lovely, creative projects.  We would love to visit with you and see what loveliness you create.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Re-Discover Your Supplies Instagram Hop - Theme: Teacher Appreciation

Hi Crafty Friends and Happy Sunday!  I am participating in the Re-Discover Your Supplies Instagram Hop along with several of my crafty friends.  The theme is Teacher Appreciation and it's a Just For Fun and Inspiration Hop.

The premise of the Hop is to inspire you to shop your stash and "re-discover" products you haven't used in a while (or forgot about) to create something for yourself or someone else.  You can hop along starting HERE.

I don't have school aged children anymore so I haven't thought of Teacher Appreciation gifts in a very long time.  I went shopping my stash and re-discovered the Organic Fruits Stamp Set from Simon Says Stamp.  I decided to create a Thank You card with some red apples as the focal images.

With this set, you can stamp layer or stencil the color on.  I decided to stamp layer using red and green shades of Catherine Pooler inks.  Just as the name implies, the stamping of color is not supposed to line up perfectly.  Going outside the lines gives the stamping an organic, retro and whimsical look which I like very much.

Also from my stash (my embarrasingly large stash) of patterned paper, I chose 2 snippets from the Bo Bunny "Kiss the Cook" 6x6 paper pad.  I've fussy cut the apples and leaves, stamped the sentiment from the stamp set directly to the card panel and popped the images on craft foam for dimension.  Lastly, I've added silver gems from Kat Scrappiness.

Stop by the Hop on Instagram and see what my friends have created by shopping their stashes.  I'm excited to see what their Teacher Appreciation inspiration projects are.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Inspiration Station Challenge #38 - Scarecrows

Hello and Happy Wednesday!  Today begins a new bi-weekly challenge at The Inspiration Station Challenge Blog and our generous sponsor is TLC Designs.  The inspiration photo for this challenge is adorable:

I had think on this inspiration photo, I don't have any scarecrow images in my stash but I have an image from Bugaboo Stamps and thought it would be perfect for this challenge round.  P.S.  I miss Bugaboo and I have hope that maybe Jodie will come back some day.

My card measures 5.5" square and the patterned papers are from the Echo Park "Trick or Treat" 6x6 paper pad.  I've followed a card sketch from Cards by Kendra, I was inspired by the faces, sunflowers and colors in the photo.

The image has been colored using Spectrum Noir Illustrator Alcohol Markers and I've added enamel embellishments for added interest.

Please join us at The Isnpiration Station Challenge Blog and share with us your inspired projects.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!
