Classic Design Challenge #6 - Jun/Jul 2024

Hi Friends and thanks for stopping by.  It's a busy Saturday and today begins a new monthly challenge at The Classic Design Challenge Blog. Our generous sponsors this month are Di's Digi Stamps and Mirtillamente.  The theme of our challenges is Always Anything Goes with an Optional Twist; the Twist this month is Fancy Folds.

For my DT project this month, I've colored the cute Le Pine Malley Summer digital image from Mirtillamente using Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers.

I've decided to use the Twist this month as I've been on a fancy fold kick lately and this is an easy one to create; I've followed a tutorial by Tracy Bradley HERE.  I've used patterned papers from Kat Scrappiness and added die cut clouds along with a die cut Palm tree that has been colored with alcohol markers.  The inside of the card contains an additional greeting, both sentiments are from Cardz TV.

We hope you'll join in the fun at The Classic Design Challenge this month. We love seeing everyone's designs and if you're up to it, try a fancy fold, they can be quite addicting.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Beautiful Blossoms Challenge #18 - June 2024

Hello Friends and Happy Saturday!  I hope you are doing well and enjoying comfortable weather.  It's been a scorcher here in Florida, so our Father's Day plans this weekend include swimming and air conditioning.

Today begins a new challenge month at The Beautiful Blossoms Challenge Blog.  Our optional mood board photo is a gorgeous mixture of warm, summer colors:

I let the colors in the mood board inspire me this month and I've used the "Blooms & Wishes" Stamp Set from Stampin' Up for my card today.  This is an older set that I found at a great price while shopping eBay, so it's a "new to me" set.

Using the new 2024-2026 In Colors inks from Stampin' Up; which are Peach Pie, Petunia Pop, Pretty in Pink, Shy Shamrock and Summer Splash, I've stamped a background of pretty florals.  The sentiment is from the Blooms & Wishes Set, the card base is Peach Pie.

I've accented the piece with gold string from Fun Stampers Journey and did some doodling by adding tiny dots with the Stampin' Up Write Markers in colors that match the inks used in my stamping.

The team and I hope you'll pop in and join us at The Beautiful Blossoms Challenge this month.  We love seeing everyone's creativity.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Stampin' Pretty PALS Blog Hop - June 2024

Hi Crafty Friends and Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop!  I've been invited to join a huge list of talented Stampin' Up Demonstrators in this Hop, and I'm honored to be here.

This month, the theme is the new 2024-2026 In Colors. We hope to inspire you with our creations today! You will find the lineup at the end of my post to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

The new 2024-2026 In-Colors are:  Petunia Pop, Peach Pie, Summer Splash, Shy Shamrock and Pretty in Pink.  My project features the cheerful Petunia Pop.

I've created a Triple Fun Fold card using the 2024-2026 In-Color Designer Series Papers, along with the new Wildflower Designs Stamp Set and Petunia Pop 8.5 x 11 card stock for the base.  I was inspired by the lovely card created by Tami White, and followed the instructions she generously provided on her blog HERE.

To keep the card closed, I've created a belly band and highlighted the design with a pretty satin ribbon and tag.

There’s more inspiration to show you, so use the lineup below to visit the rest of the Design Team. Please mark your calendars for the blog hop next month (July 10th), when our theme will be Our Favorites in the New Catalog.  You can find the list of products I've used today, complete with item numbers, at the end of this post.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Take to the Sky

Hello Crafty Friends and Happy Sunday!  I hope your weekend is going well and you're staying cool.  It's a bazillion degrees here in Florida, with severe storms in some areas so I've spent most of the weekend indoors and around my craft table.

Today, I'm sharing a fun masculine card design that I've created for dear hubby's Father's Day.  I've combined some new products from Stampin' Up and I'm quite pleased with the results.

I've followed a card sketch found on Pinterest, I like to use card sketches when my mojo is less than 100%, they seem to get me motivated.  The image has been simply colored using Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers, then die cut and popped on foam pads.

I didn't want to do a sentiment strip, so I had the idea to use a postage die and stamp on that.  The postage die came to mind when I think of how my happy mail gets to my buddies overseas.  The patterned designer series papers are from a 12x12 paper pack by Stampin' Up.

Lastly, I've added textured dots to complete the design.  You can find all the supplies I've used here:

Thanks for stopping by today and until next time, Happy Crafting!

The Paper Funday Challenge #66 - June 2024

Hello Friends and Welcome to Wednesday!  Today begins a new challenge month at The Paper Funday Challenge Blog and we have 2 awesome sponsors this month:  Dr. Digi House of Stamps and Amanda Jayne Designs. Our optional Twist for the month is Fancy Folds and I've used the Twist in my design today.

Using the Cuddly Critters Pig digital stamp, generously provided by our sponsor Dr. Digi, I've created what some call a Corner Fold and Flap design.  Whatever the name, it's a fun and easy one to make and I was inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest (no link to share unfortunately).

You basically take a card base and trim it from upper to lower corner, add your mat layers inside and out.  You then create a "mini" top folding note card to be adhered to the inside.  I stamped my sentiment on the mini card.

I've colored the image using Prismacolor Pencils, the patterned papers are from Kat Scrappiness, the oval die is from Pink Fresh Designs and the sentiments are from Cardz TV.

Please stop by the challenge blog this month and show us your Fancy Folds.  Of course, the twist is an optional but I've been inspired by this fancy fold and I'm now on a roll to create more.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Inspiration Station Challenge #62 June 2024

Hello Friends and Happy Monday!  That's another weekend in the books, I hope you had a great one.  Today begins a new challenge month at The Inspiration Station Challenge Blog, with our inspiration photo prompt being a fun and festive one:

I was inspired by the birthday party atmosphere of the photo, so I've created a birthday card using the "Panda Peekers" Stamp Set by Whimsy Stamps.

To start, I've stamped and colored this adorable Panda using Spectrum Noir Illustrator Alcohol Brush Markers.  I then fussy cut the image and set aside to create the background.

Using a square nesting die from My Favorite Things, I've created a Polaroid-type photo frame, leaving enough space at the bottom to stamp a greeting, which is included in the stamp set.

Using patterned papers from a Kat Scrappiness birthday essentials pack, I've backed the opening in the frame and die cut balloons.  I've embossed the red mat using an older birthday folder from Darice, adhered the Panda image flat and popped the balloons on foam pads.  Lastly, I've added Baker's Twine strings to the balloons and stamped a Happy Birthday greeting on the inside of the card.

We hope you'll join us this month at The Inspiration Station Challenge and share how you're inspired by the photo prompt.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Seasonal Blooms Welcoming Summer

Happy Sunday Crafty Friends!  I hope you've been well and experiencing nice weather.  Here, it's been very hot and humid, so I guess Summer has arrived in Florida (or did it ever leave?).

Today, I'm sharing a square card design featuring the Seasonal Blooms Stamp and Coordinating Die Set, which was part of the Craft Your Life Project Kit from Altenew.  This card measures 6" square.

To start I stamped and colored the floral images using Spectrum Noir Illustrator Alcohol Brush Markers.  I then die cut the cluster and set aside so I could lightly ink up the background with a shade of lilac, which gives a soft backdrop to the florals.

I've adhered the die cut directly to the black mat and stamped the sentiment that's included in the stamp set.  Lastly, I've added tiny pearls to highlight the sentiment.

But...that's not all!  Altenew has given me the opportunity to bless 2 of you with a $15 gift voucher for shopping.  So, get a chance to be one of the 2 winners of a Gift Card to Altenew!

To enter, please visit my Instagram Page HERE - (or search for me @duncan_street_designs)  Follow the directions for your chance to WIN!  Winners announced on my IG account next Sunday, 09 June 2024. Thanks to Altenew for the sponsorship!

Until next time, Happy Crafting!
