Coneflowers

Hi Crafty Friends and Happy Monday!  I hope your weekend went well and you had some crafty time.  I did a bit of crafting therapy yesterday and colored up the newest digital design from Varada Sharma, it's her Coneflowers.   I love coneflowers, they are another one of my favorites, I especially like them in bold colors, however I chose to go with a light color palette this time.

I've colored the florals using Spectrum Noir alcohol markers, the patterned papers are from an older 6x6 paper pad by Kaiser Craft called "Sea Breeze".  I've die cut the focal image and mat using nesting circle dies from Kat Scrappiness, the sentiment is a cut apart from the paper pad.

I've added no bells or whistles to this card, other than a bit of linen thread for a bow and white highlight accents.  The focal image and sentiment have been popped on craft foam for dimension.

That's all I have for today.  I hope you have a splendid week ahead and until next time, Happy Crafting!

Beautiful Blossoms Challenge #20 - August/September 2024

Hello Crafty Friends and Happy Thursday!  Today's the 15th of the month and that signals a new challenge at The Beautiful Blossoms Challenge Blog.  Summer is (hopefully) winding down and we'll be into the Autumn months soon, along with using those beautiful Fall colors.  Our inspiration board features some lovely muted tones:

My project this month features the retired Climbing Roses stamp set from Stampin' Up and I tried to incorporate the mood board colors into my design.  The images in the set are drawn so daintily and by stamping them twice, I've created a frame of sorts. I've colored the florals using Prismacolor Pencils and fussy cut the arrangements.

I've also die cut and used 1 part of the 3 part Triangle Madness Cover Die from Altenew as a backdrop to the floral arrangements.  The panel in background has been ink smooshed with tones of browns.

Lastly, I've stamped and heat embossed a sentiment, from the same stamp set, on a fancy oval die cut using a snippet of Stampin' Up Old Olive cardstock.  The sentiment and floral arrangements have been popped on foam for dimension.

The team and I invite you to please join us this month, we would love to see your Floral Focused projects.  Remember, the mood board is for inspiration but it's also a fun challenge to use the color palette.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Stampin' Pretty PALS Blog Hop - August 2024

Hello Friends and thanks for stopping by!  Today is the Stampin' Pretty PALS Blog Hop and our theme this month is: My Summer Vacation.

My summer vacations usually include water, either in the pool or at the beach, so for my Hop project this month, I've used the new Stampin' Up Seaside Wishes Stamp and Die Bundle along with the Country Woods Designer Series Papers to create a card that best represents my Summer holidays.

Included in this bundle is a hybrid embossing folder that fits the sand dollar dies, which enables you to emboss and cut, I love that!  After embossing/die cutting the shells, I very lightly blended Summer Splash, Old Olive and Peach Pie inks over them to highlight the embossed textures.  I've also stamped and die cut 2 starfish, using Crumb Cake ink.

I think the designer series papers give the perfect Coastal vibes.  I've stamped the sentiment using SU Pebbled Path ink and popped on dimensionals, along with the shell cluster.  And of course, I've added a nest of Linen Thread behind the shell cluster and splattered everything with white acrylic paint for added interest.  To finish everything off, I've completed the inside with a few starfish and bubbles.

There’s more inspiration to show you, so use the lineup below to visit the rest of the Design Team. Please mark your calendars for the blog hop next month (September 11th), when our theme will be "All Creatures Great and Small".  You can find the list of products I've used today, complete with item numbers, at the end of this post.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

The Paper Funday Challenges - August 2024

Hello Crafty Friends and Happy Wednesday!  Hurricane Debby came and went, she dropped loads of rain but thankfully we did not flood.  I cannot say that for other parts of Florida or the East Coast of the USA, so please pray for all those affected.

Today begins a new challenge month at The Paper Funday Challenge Blog.  Themes are Always Anything Goes with an optional Twist, and this month, the twist is Summer Holiday/Vacation.  Our generous sponsors this challenge are Newton's Nook and Altenew!

For my team project, I've used the "Here for You" Stamp and Coordinating Dies Bundle from Altenew to create this somewhat monochromatic card.

I've stamped the images in Silver Pearl Embossing Power from Ranger, then heat set and cut out with the dies.  I've embossed a white background panel using a basketweave folder, then arranged the images and popped up the flower heads on dimensionals.

To complete the design, I've heat embossed the sentiment and popped on dimensionals, then added silver gems for that extra sparkle and shine.

We hope you'll join us at The Paper Funday Challenge this month!  We love visiting everyone and being amazed by the creativity.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Inspiration Station Challenge #64 - August 2024

Hello Friends and Happy Monday!  Today begins a new challenge month at The Inspiration Station Challenge Blog.  Our inspiration photo is a colorful one and I immediately knew the set I would use for my project.

I've used the Organic Fruits Stamp Set by Simon Says Stamp.  I love the retro vibe, the images can be hand colored or stamp layered, which I chose to do here. The stamp set is designed so when layering the color onto the images, the colors either do not stay within the lines or do not completely fill the image, which gives it that cool organic look.

For my colors, I've used Versafine Black ink to stamp the images and various Gina K. Designs inks for the fruit colors.  I've created my own designer series papers, if you will, with the images.  After the inks were dry, I splattered the panel with white acrylic ink.

I've layered the focal panel with a black mat, die cut a circle, heat embossed the sentiment, popped on craft foam for dimension and added a twine bow. To add a bit more interest, I dipped a new pencil with unused eraser into the inks and dotted around the design. Lastly, I've added gold gems from Kat Scrappiness.

I invite you to please join us at The Inspiration Station Challenge this month.  We hope to inspire you with our designs and we always enjoy seeing how the photo inspires everyone.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Graceful Garden

Hello Crafty Friends and Happy Sunday!  We are preparing for Tropical Storm Debby here in Florida, so what better way to pass the time than to do a bit of adult coloring and card making?

I've used the retired Stampin' Up set "Graceful Garden" with the new "Nature's Sweetness and Country Woods" designer series papers to create a simple yet effective card of support.

I've stamped the image using Copper Clay ink from Stampin' Up, then colored the rose using Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers, and die cut the image using a nesting oval die from Kat Scrappiness.

I've trimmed a small banner and stamped the sentiment in the same Copper Clay ink, and added a nest of gold thread behind.  Both the focal and sentiment have been popped on dimensionals.

Some of the papers in the Nature's Sweetness pack have a gold shine to them, which is lovely.  Lastly, I've added a few gold gems from Kat Scrappiness to complete the look.

That's all for today, have a fantastic week ahead! Until next time, Happy Crafting!
