Colour Crazy Crazy Challenge - Hetty Clare

Hello and TGIF!  Today begins a new fortnightly challenge at the Colour Crazy Challenge Blog.  Our sponsor this week is the generous and talented Hetty Clare.

My design team project features the Hetty Clare Merry Christmouse digital stamp.  The sentiment has been generated by me, on my computer.

I've colored the images with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers and kept the design simple, only using a black mat behind the focal panel.

I added Wink of Stella and Crystal Stickles for the necessary sparkle and shine; it's so hard to pick up in the photos.  The image is adorable; a Gray Mouse Couple having a glass of the holiday bubbly to celebrate a Happy Christmas!

Please join us this round at The Color Crazy Challenge!  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Her Peaceful Garden Cat Lover's Blog Hop

Hello Friends!  Today, some of the Kat Scrappiness team members are participating in the Cat Lover's Blog Hop with Her Peaceful Garden and Kat Scrappiness is offering a Prize for the Hop.  This is the 7th Annual Hop and we are thrilled to be one of the many Sponsors who are participating.

Today is Day 3 of the 2021 Cat Lover's Hop and for my Cat Themed project, I've created a Halloween Card using the Kat Scrappiness Toil & Trouble Layering Stamp Set with Coordinating Dies.

I've embossed a panel with an oldie but goodie Halloween Embossing folder from Darice.  I blended shades of orange, purple and black distress oxide inks to get a spooky background.  I've also inked a die cut circle with distress oxide inks for a landing area for the focal image.

The Cat Stamp is a layering stamp and I've used 2 shades of Catherine Pooler gray inks and a black to get the perfect Halloween Black Cat.  This is a great set and I love the completed image...so defined.  I've stamped and heat embossed the sentiment and popped the strip and Kitty Cat on craft foam for dimension.  The cat was die cut using the coordinating dies for this set.

Before adhering the Cat and sentiment strip, I splattered the panel the panels with White Gloss Acrylic Spray.  Lastly, added purple irridescent seqins for a haunting shine.

Stop by Her Peaceful Garden and join in the festivities, there is loads of inspiration and prizes.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Pammies Inky Pinkies - Beccy's Place

Hello Friends and Happy Monday!  Today begins a new challenge week at Pammie's Inky Pinkies and the sponsor this round is Beccy's Place.

For my design team project, I've colored a Beccy's Place image from the Peace and Joy Digital Stamp Set.  The sentiment is also from the digi set; this set contains 2 images and 5 sentiments with pre-colored versions of the images also available.

I've colored the Poinsettias in traditional holiday colors using Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers; I have 2 red poinsettia bushes planted in my garden, left over from Christmas a few years ago.

I've kept the design simple with just a black mat behnd the focal panel, which was cut using a Stitched Rectangle Die from Kat Scrappiness.  For that holiday sparkle, I've added clear sequins, Wink of Stella and Crystal Stickles.

Please join us this week atPammie's Inky Pinkies!  Until next time, Happy Crafting.

Find the Beauty in Everyday

Hello Friends and Happy Tuesday!  Today I'm sharing a card created with a stamp set I've recently won.  It's a Spring/Summer Set but I believe it's versatile and I've used it to create an Autumn card.

The set is the Seasonal Wreaths Spring/Summer Set from Stamp Simply.  I've colored the image with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers and cut the images with the coordinating dies.  The white panel has been embossed with a Cricut Embossing folder and the papers are snippets of designer card from my stash.

I've popped up the square focal panel with craft foam and added Ocean Blue Faux Pearls from Kat Scrappiness to complete the design.

That's all for today..until next time, Happy Crafting!

Inspiration Station Challenge #16 - Pumpkin Patch

Hello Everyone and Happy Monday!  I hope you're all well and had a great weekend.  Today starts a new bi-weekly challenge at The Inspiration Station and the inspiration photo is one that can be intrepreted so many ways:

For my design team project, I intrepreted the photo as A Day at the Pumpkin Patch and I'm in Autumn crafting mode so why not create an Autum themed card!  I used the Newton's Nook "Paw-tumn Newton" Stamp Set to create a 5" square card.

I've colored the images with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers, papers are from the Echo Park "Celebrate Autumn" 6x6 paper pad, sentiment is from the same Newton's Nook set and sequins are from the Kat Scrappiness "Chocolate Sprinkles" embellishment pack.

This is a darling little set with a great price point.  It's new to me this season but I'm sure I'll be using it again before Autumn ends.

Please join us at The Inspiration Station for your chance to win 3 digi images from Di's Digi Stamps.  We hope to inspire you with our designs and would love to see your intrepretation of the inspiration photo.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

I've created 2 projects and I'm featuring one here today and the other I will share tomorrow.  For today, I've created an inspirational 5"x7" card using 3 of the newest products.

To start, I've ink smooshed a background of various Autumn colors using Catherine Pooler Inks and Strathmore Watercolor card.  Using the largest of the new 5x7 Stitched Rectangle Dies, I've cut a panel from Gold Mirror card and adhered to my cardbase of 110 lb. Neenah Classic Cream Smooth.  Next, I matted the inked panel with a brown card and adhered to the mirror card.

The sentiment is the new Just Have Faith Sentiment Die with Shadow  cut from Neenah Classic Crest Cream Smooth and Gold Mirror card then popped on craft foam for dimension.  Lastly, I've added the new Raspberry Delight and Midnight Fandango Pearl Mix Gems for additional interest.

Creepy Crawly Coffin

Hello Friends and Happy Friday!  Today, I'm on the Kat Scrappiness Blog sharing this Halloween project that's sure to make your skin crawl.....unless you don't have Arachnophobia!

I've created a Coffin Shaped Treat Box and decorated it using cuts from the Kat Scrappiness Creepy Crawly Die Set  and papers from the Boo To You Slimline Paper Pack

This Treat Coffin measures 5" long x 2.75" at the widest point x 1.25" in height.  It is a free SVG cut file from Bird's Cards and I cut it using my Cricut Explore Air.

I've added googly eyes to the large spider and colored in the smaller spider's eyes using Gelly Roll Pens.  For the finishing touches, I've added Silver Rhinestones and Dark Purple Amethyst Rhinestones; both from Kat Scrappiness along with a purple polka dot ribbon from my stash.

Pammie's Inky Pinkies Challenge - Sheepski Designs

Hello Crafty Friends and Welcome to Monday.  Today begins a new challenge at Pammie's Inky Pinkies and the sponsor this round is Sheepski Designs.  For my design team project, I went with a Winter theme.

Using the Snow Happy Digital Stamp, I created an A2 Top Folding card that could easily be turned into a holiday card using a seasonal sentiment on the inside.

Snowmen are my favorite Winter and Holiday images to use and this guy is just the sweetest isn't he?  I kept the design fairly simple, only using a few alcohol markers to color him in.  I covered him in Wink of Stella, which is hard to see here, but he is sparkly.

Aside from the Wink of Stella, the only other embellishment I've used is a dyed piece of seam binding tied into a bow.

Please join us this week at Pammie's Inky Pinkies Challenge Blog!  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Altenew Academy AECP Level 2: With A Twist

Hello Friends and Happy Saturday!  Today I'm sharing my submission for the Altenew Academy Level 2 Course: With a Twist.  I had no idea what this course was going to entail but I was impressed with the "Twists" on familiar techniques.

For my project, I used the Faux Embossing Technique that was covered in the course.  I wasn't quite sure what faux embossing was and had a different idea of what it may be, only to be surprised this technique is easy to create and very effective.

I started with stamping several of the blooms and leaves from the Altenew Watercolor Blooms Stamp and Coordinating Die Bundle in an Autumn color palette.  After inks were thoroughly dry, I die cut all with the coordinating dies.

The "faux embossing" comes in because the die cuts appear to be embossed into the card panel and then colored; especially if the border around each die cut completely matches the card base.  In this case, I used 80 lb Neenah Solar White for the die cuts and 110 lb Solar White for the panel.

In this close-up, you can see the outline of each die cut, but in the 1st photo, the edges seem to blend in.  It's a brilliant trick of the eye and a wonderful technique to try.  I fell utterly in love with this look and very pleased to have learned something new.  Each Altenew Academy course I've completed has taught me something new; whether it be a new technique or a spin on a tried and true technique....a "Twist" if you like.  For the final touch, I've added Chocolate Gems throughout the panel.

Thanks for stopping by and taking your time to read my post, I appreciate your visit and comments.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

The Paper Funday Challenges - Halloween or Use the Color Purple

Hi Crafty Friends!  It's the 1st Wednesday of the month and a new challenge has started at The Paper Funday Challenge Blog.  As always, the theme is Anything Goes with an optional Twist.  The Twist this month is Halloween or Use the Color Purple.

Our sponsors for the challenge are Paper Nest Dolls and Fred, She Said.  For my design team project, I used the Emma the Cat digital image from Fred, She Said to create a not so spooky Halloween card that features the challenge theme and twist.

This is an adorable image and I've colored Emma with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers.  The panel was cut using a Stitiched Rectangle Nesting Die from Kat Scrappiness, the papers are scrap snippets from my overflowing stash and the sentiment is from an older Recollections Set.  I chose to keep the stitched frame as part of the focal.

The sentiment strip has been backed with craft foam for dimension, Wink of Stella has been applied on various parts of the image and sequins added for additional sparkle.

Stop by the challenge blog this month and enter for your chance to win from our sponsors.  We would love to see your projects and hope to inspire you with ours.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Sending Halloween Love

Hello Friends!  I'm on the Kat Scrappiness Blog today sharing this card featuring an adorable Ghost Couple, proving that Chivalry is NOT dead....no pun intended!

My card was created using the Kat Scrappiness Boo-gy Ghost Dies and Boo To You Slimline Paper Pad. The Lollipop and Bow/Bow Tie are part of the die set and great accent pieces that give the ghosts their Personality!

My card measures A2 size (4.25" x 5.5") and the slimline paper works great for this sized card also.  After die cutting, I backed the ghost eyes and mouths with snippets of black card, colored the Lolli and Bow with Alcohol Markers and popped the elements on craft foam for dimension.

Thanks for visiting today and I hope you'll be back soon!  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Inspiration Station Challenge #15 - An Autumn Countryside

Hello and Happy Monday Friends!  Today begins a new challenge at The Inspiration Station and the inspiration photo for this round is a gorgeous Autumn Countryside Scene.

This challenge is an inspiration challenge therefore the photo is just a prompt and your intrepretation of it is your own.  For my design team project, I was inspired to create an Autumn themed card and went with a CAS design.

To start my card, I die cut a square in the middle of a piece of masking paper and ink blended distress oxide inks to create an autumn color scheme.  I spritzed the blended area with water and set it aside to dry.  Once completely dry, I stamped the pumpkin image and sentiment and splattered with white acrylic gloss spray ink.

I wish I knew where this stamp set was from, I've had it in my stash for so long; the packaging is long gone.  I do think it came from the Scrapbooking Queen, which is no longer in business.  I still use it every Autumn as it's one of those timeless sets that I enjoy creating with every season.

Please stop by the Inspiration Station and enter for your chance to win a fun set of Halloween images donated by my dear friend Donna Ellis at Creative Smiles.  Thank you so much Donna!

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Altenew Academy - In the Mood for Color

Happy Day to You!  I'm sharing a card created for the Altenew Academy Level 2 Course:  In the Mood for Color.  This lesson covered Colors, the Emotions that can be linked to them and various coloring techniques.  For my submission, I chose to use the color Red and the Altenew Craft-A-Flower Camellia Stamp and Coordinating Die Set along with shade stamping.

The color Red can make you feel Passionate and Energized.  It is often associated with Love as well as Danger and Anger.  I chose the color Red for the passionate, energized and love feelings it provokes.  I created a Holiday card using traditional colors and a non-traditional floral.

To start, I stamp layered the images using 3 shades of red and green.  I die cut and set aside to work on the panel and background.  I inked an embossing folder with watermark ink and embossed 80 lb card with fine detail silver powder.  The shine along with the buffalo plaid paper and snowflakes say Christmas to me.

To put it all together, I matted the plaid paper with black card, rounded the corners of the embossed panel and adhered using craft foam for dimension.  Lastly, I adhered the bloom, leaves and sentiment strip flat to the panel.

I love bright colors and create with them often.  When I look at this card, it stirs up emotion of great holidays past and those yet to come.  The red makes me happy and passionate about spending a great Christmas with family and friends this year.  How does it make you feel?

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

The Four Seasons Challenge #2

Hello Friends and Happy October!  Today begins a new challenge month at The Four Seasons Challenge and we're continuing with the Autumn/Fall theme.  My card features some not so spooky Halloween images from a Recollections Cling Stamp Set.

The inspiration prompt for the month of October is:

When tidying up my craft room recently, I came across these cling stamps from Recollections that I've had for a few years.  I'd forgotten just how cute they are.

I've colored the images with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers, created a tag and mats using papers from the Echo Park Trick or Treat 6x6 paper pad and Recollections Seasonal Solids 12x12 paper pack.

I've used stitched dies from Kat Scrappiness and My Favorite Things for the tag, banner sentiment and small mats.  The only bells and whistles added was Wink of Stella on the Pumpkins; which is always hard to capture in photos.

Please join us at The Four Seasons Challenge this month.  We hope to inspire you with our designs and always love to see what you create.

Until Next Time, Happy Crafting!

Colour Crazy Challenge - Polkadoodles

Happy Fri-YAY Crafty Friends!  Today begins a new challenge on the Colour Crazy Challenge Blog and our sponsor this week is Polkadoodles.  For my design team project, I've created a Fairy Tale card using the Winnie Belle of the Ball Fairy Tale Digital Stamp and papers from the Once Upon a Time 12x12 paper stack by DCWV.

My card measures 5.5" square, I've colored the image using Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers and die cut the focal image using a Fancy Scallop Die from Alina Craft.

Since Winnie is the Belle of the Ball, I felt lots of Sparkle and Shine were appropriate.  The paper has a glittery edge, I've added Gold Wink of Stella to her Crown and gems from Kat Scrappiness.  I've also heat foiled the sentiment strip using a snippet of Thermoweb Prism foil sheet and my laminator.

We hope you'll stop by the challenge and enter for your chance to win some Polkadoodles digital stamps.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!
