To Some-Bunny Special

Hi Friends!  It's Fri-YAY and I have a quick post for you today.  I'm trying to get the last of my Easter cards completed so they can be posted no later than Monday the 3rd.  Easter has crept up on me this year.

I was gifted this cute bunny die and thought I would make a few CAS designs using it.  The die set also includes a little stool for him to sit on and I have created a card with the stool that I will share next.

The frame is from Fun Stampers Journey; the package of 12 frames are foiled and come in different shapes.  The patterned paper is a snippet from my scrap container; I believe it is from an Easter themed digital paper pack.

The sentiment is from Alina Craft and the pale yellow pearls are from Kat Scrappiness.  I'm trying to master the clean and simple technique, my problem is I don't know when to stop.  All the white space begs me to add something to it.  I think I did fairly well with this one today so YAY me!

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Happy Easter Daffodils

Hello Sweet Friends and Happy Monday!  I trust your weekend was lovely and you found a bit of time for yourself.  Easter is fast approaching and I'm working on Easter cards; as usual I've waited till last minute **sigh.

I've had this Easter Stamp Set from Gina K. Designs for a couple of years now and only remember to use it at Easter time.  It's a shame because the Daffodils are so pretty and would make a lovely project for Spring; even Mother's Day.

I've colored the image using Prismacolor Pencils and tried to stay true to a traditional Daffodil color palette.  I was experimenting with different shades of green and prefer the medium tones that appear on each side of the image.

I thought a Clean and Simple theme was enough since the image is substantial. I've matted with a panel of black card and added enamel dots for added visual interest.  That completes the card and my post for today.

Have a fantastic Monday and until next time, Happy Crafting!

Instagram Card Makers Discovery Hop - March 2023

Hi Friends and Happy Sunday!  It's time for this months' Instagram Card Makers Re-Discovery Hop where the premise of this Just for Fun Themed Hop is creating a project using items you have in your stash.  The theme this month is Easter. and there's loads of inspiration from a huge line-up of card makers, you can start the Hop HERE.

This project took me deep into my stash. I was searching for something cute and festive for this hop and I came across a digital stamp set I had won last year.  This bunny and sentiment are part of the Egg-stra Ducky Easter Digital Stamp Set by Angie Blom Digital Designs.  I never got to use the images from this set last Easter so today was the day to finally use this set!

I've colored the images using my Prismacolor Pencils.  The focal panel was cut using a nesting stitched rectangle die from Kat Scrappiness.  The patterned paper was also found in the stash, it's part of a digital Easter pack and was a Card Making Magazine Freebie.

I've die cut a frame from green card using a nesting frame rectangle die from Kat Scrappiness.  I've adhered the frame flat to the patterned paper, which gives the illusion there is a mat behind, but doesn't use a whole panel of card.  I now have the inside of the frame to use on another project.  As a finishing touch, I've added iridescent sequins for a bit of bling.

I hope you'll hop along with us today.  There are lots of great card makers participating, so there is loads of inspiration for using those forgotten about items in one's stash.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Jan's Digi Stamps Challenge Mid Month Inspiration

Hello Crafty Friends and Happy Monday!  I hope you had a glorious weekend and the weather was kind to you.  We had a chilly Sunday here in Florida along with some much needed rain.

Today is the mid-month inspiration post at the Jan's Digi Stamps Challenge Blog.  Jan released 2 new sets for March 2023:  Rain Dance and Dogwood Blooms.  My card today features the Rain Dance image and a sentiment from the set.

The sentiment makes this a sweet Card of Encouragement, and who doesn't need one of those from time to time?  I've colored the image using Prismacolor Pencils.

I've left the design sweet and simple but this card wasn't simple to start!  Let me explain - my HP printer would not feed this 80 lb card through so I went to my laser printer.  The laser printer prints fabulous lines on smooth card but on this paper I use for pencils (it's a bit textured as "tooth" is needed for successful pencil coloring and blending), it spit and sputtered the lines.  I had to go in with a Micron Fine Liner Pen to "fix" the stuttering but it's just not the same!  Anywho....I pulled my bottom lip up and carried on.

I hope you'll hop over to the blog today and see all the lovely projects my teamies have made.  Also, join in the challenge - you have until the 2nd of April to enter.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Beautiful Blossoms Challenge #3

Hello Crafty Friends and Happy Wednesday!  Today is the 15th of the month and that signals a new challenge start at the Beautiful Blossoms Challenge Blog.  It's an Anything Goes Floral/Flowers Challenge where Flowers must be the focus and an optional mood board is provided as inspiration, should you want to use it.

The mood board board this month is:

For my project, I've roughly used the mood board for my color choices and colored the floral wreath from the Pink Fresh Studio "Take Pride" Stamp and Coordinating Die Set.

I've colored the image with Prismacolor Pencils, and die cut using the coordinating die.  The die cuts out the middle of the wreath, leaving a circle, which I stamped the sentiment on.

I've die cut a lattice cover panel, popped the florals on craft foam and sunk the sentiment piece down into the circle.  I've then splattered everything with gold watercolor paint and added dew drops as a final touch.

Please join us at the Beautiful Blossoms Challenge this month.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Jan's Digi Stamps March 2023 Challenge

Hello, I'm back with my second post for today.  It's a new challenge month at the Jan's Digi Stamps Challenge Blog and Jan has released 2 new sets this month:  Rain Dance and Dogwood Blooms.  Jan is also having a Flowers Sale, where 24 Floral themed sets are discounted until the 31st of March.

In keeping with the St, Patrick's Day theme I have going today, I've used one of Jan's older sets for my DT project, it's the Lucky Charm set, which is marked down for this month as well!

This is such a lovely set, drawn so beautifully.  I remember spending hours combing through clover as a child, looking for that 4-leaf one, and I've found a few in my day.  My sister did resin art and she made a pendant for me containing one of those 4-leaf clovers.  Would you believe I found that pendant in my mother's jewelry box when we were going through her things after she passed?  That pendant is 50+ years old.

I've colored this image using Prismacolor pencils, which seem to be my new coloring tool of choice.  The patterned paper is from a digital paper pack included as a magazine freebie several years ago.  The panel has been cut using the Stitched Rectangle Nesting Dies from Kat Scrappiness and the sentiment is included in this Lucky Charm set.

We hope you'll join us this month at the Jan's Digi Stamps Challenge.  My teamies have created lovely projects using the new sets on offer and I know you'll be inspired.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Inspiration Station March Challenge

Hi Crafty Friends and Happy 1st Monday of March.  Today sees the start of a new challenge month at The Inspiration Station Challenge Blog.  The inspiration photograph is quite fitting for this month:

I was inspired by all the green in the photo, not to mention St. Patrick's Day is coming up so I went with an Irish theme and colored this sweet little red headed lass from Star Stampz using Prismacolor Pencils.

The papers are snippets from a digital paper pack, from where escapes me.  The sentiment is from Cardz TV and the gold sequins are from my stash.

I was attempting a new flesh tone combination and to be honest, this poor lass looks a "little green 'round the gills" as my Daddy used to say to us kids when we had stomach viruses.  I was going for that reddish, Irish complexion...next time I'll stick to what I know.

The Inspiration Station Challenge is also teaming with The Double Trouble Challenge from today through the 19th of March.  Please visit their challenge and play along in their "Pinch Proof" Challenge.  You can find their challenge HERE.

That's all for now, I'll be back in an hour to share another design team project!  Until then, Happy Crafting!

Gnomie with Flower Pot

Hello Crafty Friends and Happy Saturday!  I hope you have something wonderful planned this weekend, if nothing exciting then I hope you get some crafty time in.

I have a quick share for you today featuring another Laurie Furnell Gnome.  This card was part of a set commissioned by a friend and she has since told me she loves all the Gnomes in her card set.

This fellow is part of Laurie's Spring Gnomes Collection and I've colored him with my Prismacolor Pencils.  I've so enjoyed using colored pencils lately and may never go back to alcohol markers.  I have so much control using pencils and love the shading I get.

The patterned papers are snippets from an Easter collection by Kat Scrappiness.  No bells and whistles added to this one, I've just stamped tiny hearts in the background to fill in some white space.

That's all for today so go out and have yourself a fabulous weekend.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Rainbow Rebel

Hello and Happy Thursday!  Have you seen the new Rebel Girls with Attitude digital stamps from Polkadoodles?  They are so cute and I simply couldn't resist getting the Big Kahuna Package.  These little Missies have attitude and for my project today, I've used the Rainbow Rebel digital stamp.

The images come as clean drawn lines and sketchy drawn lines; I prefer the sketchy which is what I've used here.  I've colored Ms. Rainbow Rebel using Prismacolor Pencils.

I've used patterned papers from the Rainbow Dreams Slimline Paper Pack by Kat Scrappiness and die cut the focal using a postage stamp die, then popped on craft foam for dimension.  Lastly, pink gems have been added for that extra bit of Glam.

The Rebel Girls Package contains loads of sentiments in different font styles, and I chose to use a typewriter font style sentiment and cut it into a small strip.

That's all I have to share today so have a fantastic day and until next time, Happy Crafting!

Paper Funday Challenge - Twist: You're Brew-tiful

Hello and Happy March 1st!  Today begins a new challenge month at The Paper Funday Challenge Blog.  It's an Always Anything Goes with an Optional Twist and the Twist this month is:  You're BREW-tiful (anything coffee. tea, hot beverage related).

Our sponsors are the generous Varada Sharma and Star Stampz.  For my project, I've used the Cuppa Love digital image from Varada Sharma, patterned papers from Authentique and included the Twist in my design.

I've colored the image using Prismacolor Pencils, fussy cut and popped on craft foam for dimension.  I place a strip of vellum behind the focal image, the patterned paper reminds me of a coffee shop; the walls and tile flooring.

To finish the design, I've popped the sentiment on craft foam; this sentiment is included in the digital set and added black gems to strategically hide the adhesive on the vellum.

Please join us this month at The Paper Funday Challenge!  Until next time, Happy Crafting.
