Small Watercolor Florals by Varada Sharma Designs

Hello Friends and Happy Thursday!  I have a quick share for you today featuring the Small Watercolor Florals Stamp Set by Varada Sharma Designs for Rubberstamps.com.  This is a gorgeous set and currently on sale for $9.99 US at Rubberstamps.com.

I've created a frame using nesting stitched rectangle dies from Kat Scrappiness and randomly stamped the images using Catherine Pooler Inks.  I've ink blended and splattered the inner piece of card with water.  After dry, I've stamped the sentiment, which is included in the set, popped the piece on craft foam and mounted in place.

Lastly, I've added blue sequins, from my stash, as an accent.  I love the loose and artsy style of the florals.  There is a companion set, the Large Watercolor Florals, that I shared a week or so ago.

That's all I have for today.  Have a fantastic day and until next time, Happy Crafting!

Polkadoodle Rebel Girl Soaked

Happy Monday Friends!  I hope your weekend was splendid and you spent time in the Sunshine.  It was an unusually hot weekend here, and today it's rainy with much cooler temps.

I have a quick share for you today featuring one of the Rebel Girls from Polkadoodle.  She's called "Soaked" and she's included in the Rebel Girl Big Kahuna digital package

April Showers bring May Flowers right?  Her umbrella has malfunctioned, bless her.  I've colored her using Spectrum Noir Illustrator Alcohol Markers.  The sentiment is from the More Spring Sentiments digital package by Bonnie Garby Designs.

I've used snippets of patterned paper from the "Summer" 6x6 paper pad by Carta Bella to accent, added a twine bow and sequins to finish off the design.

That's all for today.  Have a fabulous day, week and until next time, Happy Crafting!

Postage Die Collage

Happy Saturday Crafturday Friends!  I hope you get some crafty time in this weekend.  I have a quick share today featuring the extremely popular Postage Die.

My die set comes from Waffle Flower, however there are several companies that have some form of a Postage Die Collage set.  I chose Waffle Flower mainly because they have several different themed add-on stencil sets that coordinate with this die set.  I would like to mention this set broke my "no-spend" streak, but I couldn't resist, I am weak!

Using various colors of Catherine Pooler inks, I've stenciled the different images into each "stamp" block.  The "HUGS" die cut comes from Time for Tea and has been cut from Glitter card.

That's all for today friends.  Until Next time, Happy Crafting!

Strawberry Fields

Hello Crafty Friends and Happy Tuesday!  Today I have a quick share for you featuring the new Strawberry Fields Digital Stamp from Angie Blom.  Angie has created very nice digital images for her newest release and I just couldn't resist purchasing this set.  I love strawberries, yum yum!

I decided I would color this image using my Spectrum Noir Illustrator Alcohol Markers.  I'm a bit out of practice as I've been using colored pencils primarily lately.  Alcohol Marker coloring is quite different for me, I feel I don't have as much control of the color using markers.

In this set, there are separate images and pre-sized A2 card panels.  I've used a pre-sized image as I wanted the image to be the main focus, and since I was using markers, I wanted the images to be as large as possible.

I've trimmed the corners with a Crop-a-Dile, the sentiment is a die set from the Berry Sweet set by Scrapbook.com.  The focal panel has been matted with black card, I've added dew drops here and there.

That's all I have for today, until next time, Happy Crafting!

Classic Design Challenge #04-2024 - Mermaid Kisses

Hello Again, I'm back with a new project for The Classic Design Challenge!  It's a new month and we are also celebrating the 8th Birthday of the Challenge.  With so many challenges closing shop, it's nice to see a challenge go the distance.

We have 3 wonderful sponsors this month and a special birthday prize.  We thank All Dressed Up Stamps, Mirtillamente and Keen Crafter Designs for their sponsorship.

For my project this month, I've colored the adorable Mermaid Kisses image from All Dressed Up.  I've had this image in my stash for a while now, and, unfortunately it may be retired.  However, All Dressed Up has some of the cutest images out there.

I've colored this little Mermaid using Prismacolor Pencils, I've given her tail an ombre look. There's just something pretty about blues and lilacs together, and since she's a princess of the ocean, cool colors suit her.

I've used a scalloped and stitched edge Tag die set to cut the focal and mat panels, which have been popped on craft foam for dimension. I've embossed the background card for added interest, included a Baker's Twine bow and amethyst gems to finish out the design.

The team and I invite you to play along at The Classic Design Challenge.  There are some awesome prizes on offer this month.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Beautiful Blossoms Challenge #16

Happy Monday Friends!  I hope your weekend was enjoyable and you had the opportunity to get out and about. Today begins a new challenge at The Beautiful Blossoms Challenge Blog, where it's all about Floral Focused projects with an optional mood board for inspiration.  The mood board this month has pretty color combinations, which I chose to use in my design.

I find it difficult to get the perfect color of Coral, I think I may have achieved it with my coloring of the Full Bloom Peonies digital image from Angie Blom using Prismacolor Pencils.  This is a gorgeous image and Angie's drawings are always so life-like.

In this set, Angie provides A2 sized panels with sentiments as well as single images you can size yourself.  I chose to use one of her A2 sized panels with sentiment.  I trimmed it slightly so I could use a black mat.

I've splattered in the image with white acrylic paint and added 3 teal enamel dots to an area I felt was needing something.  I also touched up the middle of the flowers with Gold Wink of Stella.

We hope you'll join us at The Beautiful Blossoms Challenge.  We love seeing everyone's creativity and you just may be a winner!

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Varada Sharma Designs - Large Watercolor Florals

Hello Friends and Happy Saturday!  My sweet friend Varada Sharma has created the perfect set of watercolor florals for Rubberstamps.com and she's invited me to join her today for an Instagram Live!

Using her stamp set, Large Watercolor Florals and inks by Catherine Pooler, I've created an all occasion card of Best Wishes.  I was going for a teal and coral color combo.

This was a quick and easy card to create, I've randomly stamped the images around a card panel, alternating the colors and positions.  Once I was happy with the look, I've matted with black card and adhered to the card base.

The sentiment is included in this set and I love the font.  I've stamped on a stitched sentiment strip die cut and mounted on foam pads for dimension.  Before adhering to the card, I've tucked in a nest of gold thread from Altenew.

Currently, this set is specially priced at $9.99 US and can be found HERE.  I hope you'll pop over to Rubberstamps.com and see all the other wonderful sets by Varada Sharma Designs.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Bee A Honey Bear

Hi Friends and Happy Wednesday!  I'm proud to announce I've joined the Rubberstamps.com Design Team, and today we're having an Instagram Hop.  Rubberstamps.com is giving away 2 Spring Release Stamp Bundles and will choose winners from the comments left along the Hop.  You can start the Hop HERE.  Winners will be announced on the 24th of April.

Today, I'm sharing the cutest Honey Bear ever, part of the Bee A Honey Bear Stamp Set from Rubberstamps.com.  I've colored the images using Prismacolor Pencils, and...if you have an electronic cutting machine, there is a FREE SVG file that coordinates with this set.  One more important detail, this set is currently on special for $9.99 US, which is a great price!

After stamping and coloring the images, I've fussy cut them and set aside to work on the background panel.  I've die cut a honeycomb pattern into the card, and ink blended another piece of card behind so the yellow would show through.  I've used 60 lb. bright white card for these panels so there wouldn't be much bulk.

The sentiment is from a Gina K. Designs stamp set, the gingham ribbon is from my stash.  The bear and honey pot have been popped on craft foam for dimension.  Lastly, I've added Crystal stickles to the bear's wings and the honey in the pot.

The team at Rubberstamps.com would love you to visit us and Hop along.  Rubber Stamps is giving away 2 Spring Release Stamp Bundles so you won't want to miss that.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Here For You - Hello

Happy Tuesday Friends!  Were you able to see the eclipse in your area yesterday?  Me, not at all, I'm in Florida and it just appeared like storm clouds were moving in...no big whoop!

Today is a quick share featuring some simple water coloring and the "Here for You" Stamp and coordinating Die Set from Altenew.

This is a large floral as you can see, my card measures the standard A2 size (4.25 x 5.5"), so I decided to keep it CAS.  I loosely water colored the image using Gansai Tambi watercolor paints on Tim Holtz watercolor card.  This is my favorite card for water coloring, it is bright white and handles lots of water.

I've die cut the floral and splattered using white acrylic paint and added foam pads.  I've heat embossed the sentiment onto the background panel, covered it and splattered the background panel with turquoise and gold paint.  Lastly, I've adhered water droplets, matted with coordinating card and mounted to the card base.

Quick and Easy card complete.  Every now and then I like to play with watercolor, however  I'm not very good at it, but I can paint loosely, and that's seems to be the style these days so there you have it...a bright and cheerful card for any occasion (is anyone getting Mrs. Crocombe vibes?...if you don't understand - watch her on the English Heritage Channel via You Tube).

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Miss Ink Stamps - Blooming Brushes

Hello Crafty Friends and Happy Sunday!  I hope your weekend has been fabulous thus far.  I have a quick share today featuring a Clean and Simple design.

Using the Blooming Brushes Stamp Set from Miss Ink Stamps, I've colored the image using Prismacolor Pencils.  This set has different floral combinations so there is a wide variety of ways to create different designs.

In keeping the design CAS, I stamped directly to the card panel and cut the corners with a decorative punch. Lastly, I've added small gems to complete the look.  The sentiment is included in the stamp set.

That's all for today.  I wish you a fabulous week ahead and until next time, Happy Crafting!

Paper Funday Challenges - April 2024

Hi Crafty Friends and Welcome to your Wednesday!  It's time for a new challenge month at The Paper Funday Challenge Blog and we have 2 great sponsors this month:  Rachelle Ann Miller and All Dressed Up.  The Optional Twist this month is:  Sweet Treats.

For my team project this month, I've colored the "Hang in There" digital stamp from All Dressed Up, using my Prismacolor Pencils.

I've tried a new paper for coloring, one with more "tooth" and I'll say I am not happy with it.  Even though a paper with more tooth is supposed to be a better choice for pencil coloring, I prefer my 80 lb. Neenah Classic Crest Smooth paper.  Using this toothy paper left my coloring blotchy and very hard to blend.

I've blended a very subtle cloudy sky in the background, using a cloud stencil from My Favorite Things.  To add a bit more dimension, I've die cut some clouds, popped the smaller cloud on foam pads and outlined them with Crystal Stickles.  I die cut the focal panel using a nesting rectangle die from Kat Scrappiness.

Here's a Tip:  I die cut the glitter mat using a frame die from Kat Scrappiness, which left a "hole" in the middle of the glitter mat.  No one knows the middle is missing and I have a piece of glitter card to use on another project.

We invite you to visit us at The Paper Funday Challenge and join in.  We are always amazed at the talent this crafting community has.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Inspiration Station Challenge April 2024 - The Blue Planet

Hi Crafty Friends and Happy Monday!  It's a new challenge month at The Inspiration Station Challenge Blog.  The month of April brings Earth Day (April 22nd) and our inspiration prompt this month reflects the Blue Planet and just how precious it is.

And as a bonus for the first 2 weeks of this month, we are collaborating with The Double Trouble Challenge.  We hope you'll visit their challenge and join in there as well. That gives you 2 chances to win!

Now for my team project.  Using the Big World Stamp and Coordinating Die Set from Altenew, I've created a CAS styled card, taking my inspiration directly from our prompt this month.

This is a layering stamp set, with various configurations for the continents. I stamped the Earth using Catherine Pooler Inks and die cut using the coordinating die.  I die cut the pedestal from silver matte card and layered the Globe on a snippet of patterned paper and blue mat, using nesting circle dies from Kat Scrappiness. I popped the earth on foam pads for dimension.

To help the silver pedestal stand out from the gray background, I've traced around the die cut using gray and blue Prismacolor Pencils.  The sentiment is from the same set, and the "world" die cut is included in the die set.  To finish the design, I've added silver sequins.

We hope you'll be inspired by this months' photo prompt and create something to share with us.  And don't forget to play along at The Double Trouble Challenge, which you can find HERE.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!
